how to view online videos other than youtube?

Download Skyfire. That handles all types of webpage media. I tried it and it works like a charm...
Interface is a bit less than Opera imho

Internet Browsers on the HD doing my head in

Does anyone know how I can get Java to work on the HD? I use the bbc website alot and they will not allow me to stream the news videos or audio.
Also which browser does everyone suggest?
Thanks
For streaming I would reccommend skyfire browser. Just go to m.skyfire.com from your mobile browser to download.

Using HTC YouTube app to view embedded YouTube content on a webpage

Hi,
First off, I have done my research! I promised... looked through the posts (Wiki page/Tips & Tricks..) and can't seems to find anything pertaining to this.
What I'd like to know is:
- Is there a way to view YouTube video embedded in a webpage (Web Browsing using Opera Browser that comes with my HD2) by using the inbuilt HTC YouTube app - Eg. tap on the YouTube video on a webpage, HTC YouTube app starting automatically to play the video.
Thanks in advance!
Douglas
Ps. HD2 ROCKS!!!
Hi
As far as i Know (my HD2 is on its way and my HD on Ebay ) the opera doesn't have a flash support yet but the IE mobile browser on HD2 does have flash embedded which means that you get a flash player startet by tapping on your video
I've seen that also on a review on youtube....
Cheers,
LEE
Thanks for your prompt reply.
I'm really want this to work in Opera browser... I suppose such is life...
works perfectly in Opera 10 Beta 2...click the video and it opens in the streaming player.

Hi... Did u have to install anything other than Opera 10 B2? As I'd just tried it out, and YouTube content on the webpage just shows a place holder with text showing "Plug In Content"... Did I do something wrong..?
As far as I'm aware, the only browser which allows this is Skyfire. I use that for video and Opera for all other browsing (as Skyfire is a bit pants really).

Check out that thread. If you follow all the steps, you can also watch youtube and other flash sites in Opera.
It's also possible with IE and Skyfire.
I would prefer when browsing youtube, that it would open the youtube application, which gives better quality and speed.
The only way I've found for the youtube app to work is to stream from m.youtube.com with opera.
That's the only way I've got it to work its not the best as I hate the layout of mobile youtube but it works, like you, the youtube site on opera doesn't show any clickable links or videos for the hd2's youtube client to work with.
Well yes, I meant on m.YouTube.com, and other mobile sites. On a mobile after all.

And with Opera 10 final?
Tks!
youtube works on Opera 10 without need for m,
Are you sure?
My Opera Mobile 10 doesn't stream youtube, mobile or desktop version.
Having a look to Opera's and other forums, it can't stream youtube...
Mine does, search around this forum for /TX Opera Mobile10 With Flash /in the settings enable Plugins.
but it does stream youtube through the streaming media player instead of the youtube player and the quality is quite decreased....
If it streams via any external player it's ok for me, it is important that it doesn't play in browser, because quality is worst...
It's exactly what I'm searching for, mine actually plays in browser or doesn't play, so, how to make it play in streaming player or youtube or core player?
The latest version of Opera will stream youtube video and depending upon your connection it is either good or bad.......
Are you sure?
My Opera Mobile streams no video...

Justin.tv on SGS with FlashLite?

I understand the SGS comes with flashlite until the upgrade to Froyo is done.
Can someone who currently has the device check if he can see live video feed on justin.tv in the browser?
Thanks!
Just tried it, but unfortunately doesn't play the video with the embedded flash.
how about Skyfire browser? Might be ok on that.
Like most other Flash video sites, Skyfire fails to load justin.tv live streams.
Skyfire is a true FAIL so far. it does not load most flash sites and they don't seem to be adding support for them.
Can't wait for Froyo on this device!
Surprised about Skyfire not working with Justin tv. Their Windows mobile version plays the videos o.k.
Which version are you using, they have recently updated it to 2.1 and it should have flash 10.1 capability.

[Q] Adobe flash on AOSP browser?

I haven't found an apk for flash that works yet. Has anyone else or for dolphin version 8.x or higher or the AOSP browser?
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
There are all versions for 4.0 at that link, I don't use AOSP or dolphin on my Note 3 but .81 the newest works fine with Firefox on mine

Nope. With the latest flash version (11.1.115.81), in desktop mode, the stock browser doesn't play videos at all for me either. In mobile browser mode, youtube videos will play, but not directly in the browser. An external player takes over ( with no option to choose).
Same scenario, but with Dolphin Mini, videos play directly in the browser each time.
Using Hulu, the stock browser and Dolphin Mini both play video clips within the browser window while in mobile mode. It seems to be a made for mobile browsing kind of video player. As soon as switch to desktop mode, both fail to play any videos. The stock browser complains that Adobe flash player isn't installed, while Dolphin Mini receives a system not supported message.
As far as flash content goes (games, ads, banners, etc), the stock browser isn't having any of it (mobile or desktop). It just won't display it.
Dolphin Mini handles banners and advertisements pretty well in both modes. I was also able to get this game to load beyond the play button screen quite a few times, but it crashed right after tapping start on every attempt.
I don't really know what the best methods are to test flash, but from what I'm seeing, we may be SOL for the time being.
Have you guys checked out the latest version of Maxthon browser?
I HATED this browser when i tried it years ago, but they totally re-wrote it and its pretty amazing!
plays flash beautifully as well,
