Sound routing - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi!
I am using a bluetooth headset which supports both A2DP and HSF profiles. The headset emits two short bips when enabled and therefore is not suited to very short sounds. My Galaxy S sends all system sounds to the headset which is very annoying.
I would like to configure it to send only the following sounds to the headset:
ring tone
call voice
MP3 player / video player
I have discovered /system/etc/asound.conf contains routing instructions. Is this file documented somewhere?

There surely is some app that enables profiles, so that you can set a profile with system notification sounds set to zero when you connect your headsets. I'm not sure about alsa configuration file, but if you come up with something, please let us know.

If I want to get rid of the problem, I can just use the silent mode, but I would like to hear those system sounds when I receive a SMS or a mail.

MAGICIAN: audio via RINGER instead of SYSTEM channel

I'm sure many know by now that there are 2 audio channels on the magician, anyone knows I can get audio to be played through the RINGER channel instead of the usual system channel???
I'm writing my program to play specific audio when a call comes in. however system channel becomes very soft and the ringer channel gets very loud when there's an incoming call.
there's only 1 waveout device based on waveOutDevNum(), anyone has cracked this? thanks!

Re-Route sounds per application?

Is there anyway to reroute the sounds from a certain application to the headset speaker vs the speakerphone speaker?
I never use Windows Media player for anything but checking my YouMail.com voicemails (they come to my phone in an mp3 via email) and would love to have the sound come through the headset speaker instead.
I use HTC Audio Manager for mp3s though and don't want to change that at all.

Music to my bluetooth earpiece

I've tried 2 apps and i have not been able to get them to work. I'm trying to get my music to play in my blue earpiece. I've tried Blue Audio and bluetunes and have not been able to get them to work... anyone else have any suggestions?
p.s
im not being cheap i have bluetooth headphones i just need a small earpiece to listen to music at work.
the quality is horrible from a BT headset or does that even matter...I have something on my computer that i'll post when I find it
The issue is not always because of the music player application.
Does your Bluetooth earpiece have A2DP support? If not, consider buying a new one that has, e.g., I listen through a Jabra BT8040 - no need to install any application to force an audio stream.
Forget it I think its one of the apps you tried

Well im using Jawbone 2.
Im not too concerned about quality because Im not going to have it on that loud.
I guess I may have to purchase a new earpiece to get that.... blah
it also works on my Blue Ant Q1, sounds good too. I didn't have to add any other apps or software

how i get mine to work is,i go to comm manager then set up bluetooth device,go to settings then advanced settings (additional setup options),then go to audio and enable play system sounds on a remote hands free device and it should work. hope that helps
Here is what you need to send stereo bluetooth to a mono bluetooth headset. I use it and it works great. You might have to play around with it for a bit to figure out how to work it. Just run the exe on your device and not on the computer. One exe sends the audio and one exe stops the audio.
bt audio
damn beat me to it james yes bt audio does work but i use a jawbone 2 & i route it through advanced bt settings in comm mgr i used to use it on my wing but iv graduated to my monster tp2
No need for BT app
On my TP2, there is an option in the BT settings to route system audio to the headset...this automatically plays my mp3's through my BT headset, mono or stereo. has worked well on any of the builds I have tried without needing to install any additional files or change any complex system settings.

haven't noticed that option before I remember some users were asking how to get the incoming calls ringtone and system sounds to play in their earpiece instead of on the phone.
nice find!

Bypass A2DP on demand

I have this issue with my HTC BT Headset which when paired and connected will receive all sounds including games and system sounds. Sometimes even the ringer will only sound in the headset and not on the phone (this happened at rare occasions).
I have edited the settings of my headset and unchecked the option for media but then it comes back again when I connect again.
Now, I want to be able to divert audio back to the device when for example I play a game or play a media clip. The only thing I see on the screen in the message that audio is being played on the BT headset.
I am sure there must be a key sequence to bypass this but I can't figure it out.
Sorry I have no solution, but just to say I have similar issues. My HTC headset picks up the audio from Copilot.... which I suppose is no bad thing in itself, except that the sound drops out all the time... which is pretty useless on satnav! Not sure whether this is a problem with the phone or the headset (whihc is otherwise working fine). I'd just like to switch off the A2DP feature too.

BT ringtone on car handsfree

On my car BT hands free I noticed that when my i9500 rings, regardless the custom Rom i have installed (cm or touchwiz, mostly touchwiz since cm suffer from many issues in BT lately.. )
The car uses an annoying default ring tone for incoming calls, resulting in 2 different ring tones. One from my cell and the one from the multimedia system.
I almost though it due to my poor wince5 multimedia system in my car (a2dp compatible)till i have connected an iPhone 6 which delivers the ringtone you have set In your phone.
Does anyone know of a way to make BT transmit the correct ringtone ?
Usually the ringtone on the BT is physically house on the BT. Its not an audio file that the phone is transmitting.
When the phone sends the BT the siglnal that its ringing the BT plays its own audio ringer file.
In other words tou have to change the ringtone on the BT.
This is USUALLY the case. It is not ALWAYS the case
There are no ringtone/ringtype settings on the multimedia system at all.
I wonder how iPhone does succeeded out of the box transmitting the its internal ringtone..

There are no settings on your device because ringtone is not selectable. But there is a ringtone file on the device. I assure you.
I'll look for that. Thanks.
