[Q] Skin recolor?

So theres this build that I really like but I dont particularly care for the color scheme. How could I go about doing a recolor?

how about giving the build name first then link to that particular build?

I don't see how that matters much but its the topia build. Id give a link but I'm on xda app. If someone could just point me in the direction that would be cool. I've never messed with Android skinning but I'm bored. How hard could it be?

rule 1. don't expect answers if you give no info...........build is important ..........because you can easily change skins for the HD desire and Z builds
and now since even in topia series, the older versions are based only on desire and the new HD beta 1 and 2 versions are based on desire HD and on them, yes you can...go to this link

Ok allready have an issue lol
it says "Pull from your Desire HD: framework-res.apk and com.htc.resources.apk. They are in "root/system/framework" directory"
i see no framework directory using DroidExplorer? what do I do?

Cannot offer any guidance but I would love to see what you come up with. I enjoy the build as well but dislike the color scheme too.

it is quite complicated! I managed to get in to system/app and tinker around with the .apks but couldnt find any core skin file like the quoted slate.apk. I tried to test out so recolors with xda-forum.apk and did everything to the T and android still could not install it uber sad i thought i was getting somewhere

so you are trying to create and mod your own skins?.........have you tried the skins already posted in the link? or are you on the older topia series (old desire and not HD?)

Help please

Im running a rooted desire at moment got my dhd today on upgrade i was going to sell it and keep my desire. Is this a bad idea? Just havent looked into the rooting scene with the dhd is it as easy and is thr as many roms ect?

I went from a Hero to a DHD so the jump was massive, but I'm not sure you will notice that much of an improvement over a Desire.
Rooting is very easy if you know what you're doing though, and there are some great ROMs available. Probably not as many as Desire, but the quality is there.

Hello All ! i came across this lwp when snooping around DHD forums hehe
this is the Sense 3D Live Wallpaper
anywho... i have flash this with a myraid of roms and haven't gotten it to work.
a friend of mine flashed it on his Inspire and got it working
please flash and tell me if you can get it working

the Sensation "race" even though its not native android by what people are telling me is that this wallpaper is only working for Desire HD / Inspire4G sad-face

Hello, I am new to this forum..
I own a HTC Desire Z with Android version 2.3.3 and HTC Sense Version 2.1
So i have seen a couple videos of Sense 3.0 and now i wanna have it.
Can someone please help with.
I have searched how to do it.
But i dont understand it.

just flash custom roms...
first you must downgrade to froyo 2.2
then root the device
and finally flash a rom with sense 3.0 (or 3.5 if you want)

then root. search in the wiki
also there you can find directions to flash roms

It's very easy. just be sure to read through the whole downgrade/rooting process before you start doing it and always check you commands in adb twice before hitting [Enter]. When you follow the guide, posted above, most likely nothing will happen and you have a phone with Sense 3.0/3.5

The official sense 3.0 will be released in few weeks or months anyway, right?

still remains to be seen IF sense 3 will make an appearance, thats the desire hd in the uk just got it so,.... I would personally recommend rooting your phone, the wiki may seem complicated at first but plenty help to be found in the forums, remember you are not the first so have a read through the htc vision wiki

In fact, thanks to a reliable internal source, we received information about an April release of Android 4.0 with HTC Sense 3.5 for the HTC Desire S, Desire HD and Incredible S. The three devices will receive the new firmware on different days during the month, and will follow the upgrades of the Sensation family (confirmed for February) and the EVO 3D (early March).
Thanks HTC for being always ahead listening to its customers and updating the most devices and not just the top ones.

nice! cant wait to see this release of ics. finally have some of the bigger issues/bugs worked out of the roms on xda with this, if the devs don't get to it first!

Not really suprising. Because every android phone should get at least one update in the future. If the take a look at Desire S, it shipped with gingerbread, and because of that it must get at least one update. And because more or less Incredible S or Desire hd hardware is identical, its easy to port to these phones too.

Maybe it's the last update, buy our dev's on xda are the best and we get all updates after the last one.

Timing is fine for me...
I see a lot of notes in recent app changelogs about fixing things for ICS - one thing is the ROM, but all the apps need to be stable too.

This is good news! I think this will give me enough updates until the end of this year, when I can pick a new phone Including working camera and stuff.

i have unlocked my bootloader through htc and want to flash this rom but cant seem to figure out how to do it. Any help or directions would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I am really enthusiastic. However, i'm sure we will have a ics with sense fully functional rom much earlier than april thanks to xda developers

In relation to roms. If you want fully functional try roms like runny 4.0,arhd..erbeus for sense etc...for standard android with tweaks black ice..absolution etc etc there are loads I've flashed virtually all by now lol
Oh and if you want iPhone go for miui lol...fairolay though its pretty good just not for me
