Customization apps - EVO 4G General

Ok so today I got widgetlocker Which I love that app. So I wanted to know more apps like this for customizing my android even more
Sent from cm7 jealous!!!!!!Mines COOLER

What kind of customization are you looking for? I'm looking for some customization as well such as adding fonts and custom themes to CM7. I just started to look so I'm wondering if anyone else can help with that. Btw, I'm working on searching the forums as I post this.
I ran across this one app to make a custom clock widget for your phone. Let me go look it up and I'll post it here.

Custom Clock Widget Link
Here is the link to the custom clock widget.
Well I can't post the link yet because I haven't reached the threshold to post outside links. Oh well. Go to market and search for Make Your Clock Beta. It looks interesting and hopefully it starts to grow.

HTC Flip Clock Weather Widget

Hi ok im not the brainest when it comes to my Hero. I have it rooted and im running Android 2.2 with Sense rom at the moment. Think its fantastic.
I love the Sense Weather flip clock widget, the main reason i like using sense, but is there any way to get a clear backgroung, or change the colour of the clock.
Thanks Steve
As far as I know you can't really modify Sense widgets and I doubt that will be looked in to anytime soon since most devs are trying to get a complete Sense Froyo. When that happens maybe they might look in to your question.

Its possible that I am completely off-base here, but AFAIK you can't re-sign sense .apk's correctly in a way that will work. So I don't believe you can make changes to sense widgets in this way.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.
Zeb
Beautiful Widgets from the Market is the closest you'll get to a transparent Flip Clock. Once installed go into it's settings and look through the downloadable clock skins. There's loads that look like the Sense Flip Clock. It's not free, but it is pretty cool.
I use it when running ADW Launcher... and then I get bored and switch back to Sense... and then vise versa!
Error on startup with clock
I am using the the weather & toggle app on my rooted nook tablet. I have the weather and flip clock on my home screen and it works fine until I power down the device. After the power down where the clock should be it says" Problem loading widget"
I am a noob here but this string was about the clock so I hope Im posting in the right place.
Thanx!!
Lirasina themed the clock so it is possible. Actually, I can take a look into it, shouldn't be too hard. Which Rom do you want me to do it for?
sent with love from me to you
Animated weather widget&clock is quite similar to the HTC sense.
However, in the rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1276544
there is a link for the HTC sense style clocks. I don't know if they work in other roms.

I dont have the tablet but when my flip clock (on my phone) has problems a simple "remove" and replacing of the widget generally fixes it. Then again, I don't have a tablet so maybe it's the rom…or ???

Not really crazy, what do you want me to change?
Edit: Is there an old style Sense clock in ZeroHero or only the new Sense 3.5 one?
Didnt work. I have to delete the clock from my home page and put it back everytime I power down. Could someone look into this. There has to be some way or some clock similar that doesnt have this problem.
Thanx!!

Help me make my DHD look beautiful :P

Hi,
So I have the DHD and have been using HTC Sense for the homescreens, but I've seen some very nice things in the post your homescreen thread, but no one ever posts what they are using
So please recommend me some things to make my device look great. I like Go Launcher, and this post looked rather nice: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13128746#post13128746
Also, what should replace my HTC widgets? I like the people widget for favourite contacts and the HTC Calendar.
I'm open to suggestions for wallpaper, launcher, widgets, everything, help me make it look amazing please
Anyone got any ideas?
Launcherpro http://www.launcherpro.com/http://www.launcherpro.com/ has some nice widgets in the paid version. You can see them on the free app, though.
The Beautiful Widgets add-on https://market.android.com/details?id=com.levelup.beautifulwidgets also has a few nice ones.
For wallpapers, I'd head to the Random section at wallbase.net. These aren't really WVGA wallpapers, but some basic twiddling with the GIMP should have them at the right resolution in no time.
I think GoLauncher Ex has a nice interface, fast and pretty. Best of all, it's free. Nice tweaking options too.
Try some of these widgets as well from the market:
3G Watchdog
Widgetsoid
Battstatt
Smooth Calendar
Also do a search on the forum for "Modded Black Apps" - some really nice designs. Also you may want to check out the theming section of DHD forum.

Just a thought here....I've spent a bunch of time on this theme, between searching the vast interwebs for applications that work, to editing files, to theming apps and testing them, at least 60 hours of my life have been put into this project. I don't take donations or anything, so could you guys help spread the word to all of your friends so i don't feel like I did all of this for just a few people? Or at least hit the thank you button every now and then. I would appreciate that.
Alrighty fellas, I've compiled a theme together for pretty much any android device capable of running CM7, but since I created it on my Optimus V, I'll post it here.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR ANY OF THE FILES USED IN THIS THEME, I SIMPLY COMBINED WHAT WAS AVAILABLE TO ME. Furthermore, a few of these apps are paid apps, and I cannot suppply those to you.
I'd like to give a big ol' thank you to AOSP for creating such a great base ROM to work with, nhnt11 for creating the themed menus and status bar, and the devs of all of the apps used in this project.
What is themed:
-Status Bar
-Notification Drawer
-The entire Launcher
-App Drawer
-Menus (including highlighted text)
-Widgets (Only "LP Sense UI widgets" "Toggles" and "Search" are themed)
-Keyboard
-Lockscreen
-Clock
-In-App Titles
-Boot Animation
-HTC app: Claculator
-HTC app: Music
-HTC app: Teeter
-Wallpapers / backgrounds
-Alarms
-Ringtones

HOW TO FIX "ERROR INVALID_KEY" WITH FACEBOOK WIDGET
In order to get functionality from the Facebook widget back, as per THIS, you will need to uninstall the facebook app from your phone, then uninstall and reinstall LP sense ui app. From there, when you enter your credentials in the widget settings, it should work. After it is done synching and whatnot, you may reinstall Facebook app. It *should* work.
Step One
You are going to need to install a CM7 ROM with the Theme Chooser application if you want the status bar / menu themes to work. At this point, I'd like to give you this warning:
IT'S NOT MY FAULT IF YOU EFF UP YOUR PHONE, YOU ARE DOING THIS OF YOUR OWN ACCORD
#Step 1a (Skip if not rooted)
In order to install the fonts that I've included, you will need root access. There are two ways to install them: one through ADB, the other through a
market app, Type Fresh (included in the "app" folder) I feel it necessary to link to the original page for instructions. Here is the URL:
http://karuppuswamy.com/wordpress/2009/04/25/how-to-change-fonts-in-android/
Step Two
After installing the ROM, you will need to download NTSense, provided by nhnt11 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970459
Just follow the instructions on the link provided.
Step Three
Now you will need to install LP Sense UI, provided at the bottom of this thread. THIS IS NOT THE PAID VERSION, IT IS THE REGULAR FREE VERSION, HOWEVER WIDGETS DO WORK.
You will need to set it up properly for it to work. Do the following:
From Homescreen:
Menu>Preferences>Sense Mod Configuration
Set Number of docks to "1"
Dock Background>Standard (be sure to press it, even though it is selected, or else it wont work properly)
Home button on app drawer "on"
Enable auto Rotation "off"
Click to collapse
That should be it for the launcher. You can set other things how you like, I usually use "Rotate 2" as my transition, it looks great with the theme
Menu>Preferences>Homescreen Settings>Transition Effect> "Rotate 2"
Click to collapse
Step Four
You will need to purchase "WidgetLocker" from the market https://market.android.com/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker
It is $1.99 USD, but it is worth it, it is helpful for many other themes and is great as a lockscreen in general.
be sure to open WidgetLocker from the app drawer to open it in edit or "Tool" mode.
FROM "TOOL MODE:"
Menu>Settings>Enable WidgetLocker
(Skip this if you don't have root) Menu>Settings>Advanced>Root Helper>Check All Boxes, set Autoswipe Pin/Password to "Auto"
Menu>Settings>Advanced>Check "Hide Notification Icon" and "Hide Interaction Warning"
Configure the rest how you prefer.
Click to collapse
While you are in tool mode, long press every app, slider and widget and drag it to the trash bin at the bottom of the screen. Then do this:
Menu>Add>Custom Slider
Select "Sense" from the box directly underneath the picture of the slider.
Save.
You will need to long press the slider and drag it all the way to the bottom of the screen, being careful not to put it in the trash bin (or else you'd have to make a new slider )
Click to collapse
Step Five
Install any of the clocks in from the included "clocks" folder found under "apps"
Should you install the flipclock app, be warned:
NOTE: THIS CLOCK HAS NO FLIPPING ANIMATION. HOPEFULLY, I WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE ONE THAT DOES FLIP IN THE FUTURE, BUT NO GUARANTEES. I WOULD NEED A LOT OF HELP.
Step Six
In order to get the toggle widgets, such as wifi, bluetooth, gps, vibrate, silence, etc. you need to Purchase Beautiful Widgets from the Market https://market.android.com/details?id=com.levelup.beautifulwidgets&feature=search_result
I have included a brightness control and battery indicator themed to look Sense-esque. They are at the bottom of the Post.
FOR THE BATTERY INDICATOR:
1. Apply Widget to Homescreen
2. Tap on it
3. Select the "Preferences" tab in the top right corner.
4. Check every single box, especially Swap Low/High res. You can select the temperature unit of your choice.
Click to collapse

You can't fix the FB widget...!!! If you want that then you'll have to purchase from LP Sense UI's blog or use an old "ahem" russian version where everything is in english... but certain parts are in russian... certain button language.
EDIT: AM NOT BEING A D1CK! I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING. I MOD MY PHONE MORE THAN YOU EVER ATE FOOD OR FARTED!
Sigh... chill out people. Just use web browser mobile version of FB for this social crap. (The whole FB is junk anyway.)

Yeah, not a D1CK at all... just cause you think you're perfect, you don't have to go around and call someone else's work a complete price of crap. There's no point. And this theme is visually appealing, which is the major role of a theme. It just has some bugs that need worked out.
Oh, and if you're so great, why don't you make a cm7 sense theme that looks an acts identical to the real thing, including all the icons, app drawer, and Widgets. You should be able to get that done in a couple hours right?
Sent from my VM670 using tapatalk

[Q] S5 Weather Widget doesnt display properly in other launchers

I'm surprised not to see any posts on this.... if you use Apex or Nova and then add the stock weather widget it works but its really zoomed in. For example when its a clear night outside there is a nice picture of a lone tree with a starry sky above it. But on the other launchers its zoomed in on a small section of the sky and you cant even tell there is supposed to be a tree in it. I have the same grid size on both/all launchers and have tried both bigger and smaller grids but always with the same result.
Is there a way to make it work?
I couldn't so I tried a few which are nice.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.ezweather
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.droid27.transparentclockweather
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devexpert.weather
Yeah we've looked through most of those... unfortunately my wife seems pretty set on the stock one
Maybe I'll try the dev of the Launchers as I'm sure they would know what is going on
No response from the Devs (didnt expect one).... if anyone finds anything the info would be greatly appreciated

Well ANHD is not anymore in xda forum. I dont know if i am allowed to post other forums here but you can search in google .
Type "s3v3n androidnow polish forum" in google and its the 4th website.
there is not such thing in the aroma installer. You can only choose, if you want different icons in Smart Notice or if you want it to be transparent
