[Q] Some little help.

Hi everybody.
I received my mojo friday, and everything was going well. I rooted it, and it was fine.
But now:
1) yesterday i noticed that mojo didnt connect to my home wifi (before yeasterday it always worked), so i tried to "forget" the hotspot, i tried to switch off the wifi connection and so on, but nothing happens. My laptop, my phone, and my xbox360 working fine. What could i do?
2) last thing, about my tv, that cut the edge of the mojo screen (i cant see navigation bar, so i couldnt see if there are any notification or whatever.. ), i tried to change the screen setting on the tv menu, but nothing happens.
So, im sorry if i posted some stupid questions, but for this kind of stuff im a real noob, and i hope somebody could help me.

I'm not much help, but did you install the latest firmware? I've only used the first and last firmwares and had no real problems with wifi, but other people have mentioned wifi issues with other firmwares here.
As for your screen problem, one of the early threads in this forum talks about tv settings you can try to change. Each TV is different, and my off-brand tv didn't have the options mentioned in the thread, so as a result I can't maximize the screen size.

# as P901 said upgrade to the lastest firmware (although I prefer v202 because of the running apps 'MadCatz' button works better)

If you have ouya and onlive, then your' already on the latest.
Try a hard reboot (off/on)/plain mode & and forget settings
#2, overscan, search the forum for it, you'll need to find your TV's manual and turn it off

By the way i solved the problems with wifi and the ctrlr.. The wifi problem was given by the wrong data and hour.. I unplug everything before going to sleep, and this will reset the mojo clock. Anyway i will download that firmware..
For the tv.. Mine is a 32" inch by haier, there are some screen costumization (automatic, zoom 1, zoom 2, 16:9 and 4:3).. But when i try to apply nothing changes. I saw on the playstore, there are some app who change the screen resolution. Do you think this will work even on a tv?

I checked my version, and is 205.. I have Ouya, but when i try to install Onlive from the market a message says that is not compatible with my mojo.. WTF?!

Somewhere in the mojo settings their is the option to manually resize the screen, sorry I can't be more help than that. Its been about 8 months since I did mine. Just search the options menu hard.
Also in options go to about devise and click about devise 7 times in a row to enable the developers options the same way as you do every android devises to enable the extra options in case its in there.

Weird tbf the mojo is half arsed but its compatible on mine running 205. If when you do get it working make sure before you log in on the first menu, go to settings and change the screen quality from 1080 to 720p this will drasticly reduce the input lag experienced on the mojo. Hate to dissapoint but onlive is no where as smooth on the mojo as it is on the micro console or PC app am afraid and has horrific input lag, driving and shooters are nearly unplayable at times.

with the latest firmware, in google settings you can change your resolution.. but it wont fix your overscan issue.
RE onlive, it's only available in the US(canada??,EU??) , everywhere else SOL
I noticed after root on 205 firmware, the play store didnt have as many apps available, now I use Market Helper, see my modern combat post.

I keep the dongle in 'line of sight' with the controller for better performance and bettery saving.
I have my mojo under the tv with the back (USB ports/cables etc) facing me.
You might have yours somewhere obscured?
And the controller lags bad on low batteries

About Onlive, ok, i sideloaded it from the market and its work really bad. Looks like watching an old vhs movies at slow mo. ahahaha And anyway, i could get an account because im not from USA.. :/ Whatever.
For the tv, ok, i will wait to have money to buy a new tv, probably around christmas time. We will see.
In the next days i should receive my blutooth keyboard, write on the android keyboard with point and click is a very pain in the ass I cant tell im satisfied from my mojo, now, but i see big potential on it. Wait and see..

Yeah I don't know any games console which do keyboard well enough to be useful... so keyboard is a must for lots of typing.

I think the lags between the action/button on the controller being pressed it registering and completing on the online server then the footage what you've done being streamed to the console.
Just saying there's a noticeable difference between the onlive MC and mojo when it comes to performance.
Vomit or had you changed the screen quality from 1080p to 720p at the first menu screen before you log in? That should help stop it looking like a vhs tape. But won't help with the controls.

[Q] Nexus Player remote LED constantly flashing

I was using my nexus player a little while ago with the remote that came with it when it suddenly stopped working and now the LED light constantly flashes. I have taken the batteries out and put them back in, still the same result. anybody have an idea what that means? maybe indication the batteries are dying?

For whatever reason your remote lost sync with the NP. If you go to settings near the bottom, you can re-sync the remote in accessories, I believe (not in front of the player at the moment). If your remote is listed there already you can remove it then redo it. This will require pressing the Home and Back buttons at the same time to put the remote in discoverable mode.

Ah yes! Thank you! I did not even think about that!

This has happened to me multiple times. It is annoying. I wonder is anyone else is experiencing this.

It might be possible you hit the Home+Back buttons at the same time, putting the remote in discovery mode.

I'm having the same issues listed. I've tried several times repairing. I have been using the Android TV remote app on my phone in place when it happens. Thankfully DroidMote server just updated to support the Nexus Player and works awesome! You have to be rooted but it makes the Nexus Player so much easier to manage with the option for trackpad/gamepad/remote all in one.
EDIT: I've also tried pairing a bluetooth mouse but haven't had success. Maybe it has something to do with the mouse I have. I bought it in Japan and it's an Elecom brand.

This happens to me quite regularly (every week or two). Luckily I have my phone setup as a backup remote, so I can fairly easily re-pair it, but it really makes the Nexus Player seem very much like a beta-quality release.

Seems that this is more that just a coincidence. Still no fix.

Me too. Every 2-3 weeks I should re-peir Nexus Player remote.

Unable to pair Nexus Player remote

Hey guys,
I'm having some issues with the NP remote. I can't seem to pair it! Nothing came up automatically as it did in Stock to pair. And home + back button isn't working. How can I enable it without another device? Any ideas? Thanks!
I've tried factory reset, no go. It won't even reset my OS. It'll be exactly the same. Straight to home screen, no prompt to set up.
I've tried using that remote app, but that requires the two devices be connected on the same network, which isn't something I can do. I haves absolutely no control over the player.
The remote works. I can pair it to my S3 and it'll work nicely. I can't get the NP to appear as a Bluetooth device. I think that might be the issue. Help!
I just reflashed and got the same thing. Bluetooth doesn't seem to work.. Flashed stock and got remote access back. Flash custom, lose it completely.
I'm running Lollirock + Chainfire root. When it boots, it goes straight to home screen. The standard Android set up doesn't come up. Also the NP doesn't come up as a BT device. I'm all out of ideas.

I think one of the things with lollyrock is that you have to boot it twice to pair the remote.

Can you elaborate on that a bit more? When you say "boot", do you simply mean unplug the player and restart? Basically flash the ROM, let it boot up, then unplug it and plug it back in again?
If so, unfortunately, I've tried that. Many, many times. :/

Replying to this duplicate post in the hope that someone else won't need to dupe post.
Your answer was in the rom's thread post 13 (2nd page) and points out that a keyboard and mouse are required to setup this rom as you cannot pair the Bluetooth remote until you can reach the Bluetooth screen in settings.
Also, you're not going to enjoy this rom if you plan on using that little remote. Reread the thread, Zulu (the LolliRock dev) States multiple times that he thinks that remote sucks and doesn't support it as it is missing way too many features.
Sorry if I'm a jerk with my blunt post, I don't really intend to be, but you could have answered your own question without double posting and just reading a measly 13 page thread. Honestly, this is what a lot of people on XDA need to hear.

Killing Floor calamity does not move past the press A to continue screen.

Its not locking up since the screen is still moving.
I have tried all buttons.
I have tried reinstalling the game a couple times.
I have restarted the shield tv.
The controller works in other games and the home screen just fine.
Anyone else have this problem?
Any ideas?

Just played this with my wife on co-op the other day. Had no issues. Did they just put out an update by any chance? If they did, then it was working at least before it.

It's strange. I imagine it works for people cause I see no one complaining.
Does it require 2 controllers?
Is there a way to check for updates in the play store on Android TV?

had similar problems when i have the keyboard dongle plugged in. try disconnecting it if you have any mouse or kb plugged

Oh I gave up on this. I'll try unplugging the keyboard and mouse. Thank you.

(Solved) KODI makes... Shield tv randomly woke up itself

Just noticed after system upgrade 2.1 console turn up itself. My console is linked through cec hdmi future to Samsung smart and when console boots up tv turns on too. Did fresh reinstall 2.1 and problem still there. Change log about 2.1 has been said they improve some black level of hdmi (something like that) looks like this somehow effected random turns on maybe... Any one have this issues or I'm one here with this and any kind of fix?

You have to disable CEC control on Shield or on Tv set. Samsung calls it Anynet, maybe.

I did it disabled and ok tv not turns on, but shield turn anyway just saw at night time, after work etc green light turns on, but it goes sleep after 30min like I setup in settings. At the moment I rooted and installed quick reboot apk and using shutdown option. Will wait until Nvidia fix this coz cec option I really like and found handy for me.

Everything stock.
But I start thinking, is any possibility could kodi might call for this all, coz early stage 2.1 when come out I didn't had this woke up problems or maybe just did make attention... under kodi 15.1. And then after come kodi official 15.2 and kind of started problems, even kodi16.3 but same time I did force stop kodi before turn of tv with native remote, but didn't help. Is any possibility when doing force stop and later app get active by self?! (didn't done with titanium freeze option, then app would definitely stay disabled). Didn't had a chance to check those combination, will try on days to make sure, coz in kodi settings there is something said about sleep option etc maybe there is bug

Kodi or OS, but not explained why I didn't saw earlier like I see now at least 1-2 in 24 hours which gives me think not only about 2.1. Coz its not to hard for me not see tv is in my bedroom

Looks like problem was and is in kodi. Install kodi 16.4 and problem still there. BUT WHEN I FREEZE KODI IN TITANIUM BACK UP BEFORE PUT SLEEP THEN SHIELD STAYS SLEEP ( tested this all bit less in 24 hours and didn't had a problem with random woke ups during hours )

Install new kodi 16 Rc1 and should be ok. At least I don't have that problem
