Understanding PPC connections, non-specific

Basically I am searching for somewhere on the net that can help me to understand the connection settings in Windows Mobile.
While i can play around with settings and eventually get a connection to work with my service provider, i would rather really understand what i am doing. For example, which connection settings are used when? Wap or Web? How does Windows mobile decide. And how about MMS, and what connection does that use? What exactly does the "work" setting do? I just want to try and understand how it works.
Is there somewhere on the net to read up and understand the settings? Maybe some MS sites?
Again, a specific setting with my service provider is not the problem. I want to understand how it all fits together.
Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Google is your friend!
... or maybe you want someone to find a spoon.
Well, apparently i am way too dumb to usefully engage Google, as i have searched numerously for an answer. All I am able to find is specific settings for particular carriers. This is not at all what i am searching to learn.
So, yes, if you have a "spoon" then i would appreciate being spoon fed.
"And how about MMS, "
mms use the connection you set it up to do in most cases it use grps with mms or something like that as accesspoint
"and what connection does that use? What exactly does the "work" setting do? I just want to try and understand how it works."
connect your pda to activesync and use your pc's network to surf
use wifi to surf use bluetooth to surf and you're using work as network
isp or what it's called on your device is only for grps

hi all
i am newbie and just got wing few days ago,and i dont have any data plan, and i did setting in wap according to someone mention in this forum
like proxy setting and 216.155.165.50 etc
i am able to get internet now,
but question is, is it free???
or they charge me latter??
plz help>>> thanks
I would say you should be ok.
so does this mean i dont have to have the tzones $5.99 plan to get access to the internet using the proxies? so i can just type it the proxies port and host and have the internet working without the $5.99 plan?
Why pay if you are getting it for free?
for some reason, I cant browse sometimes. Any clue ?
btw, im using the above mentioned proxy for http, wap, swap

I did a search for WAP on this forum and could not make a find. Would you please let me know where you found this info as I would like to try it on my Wing. Thank you.
I did'nt know you could do that. I dont't think that T_mobiel should have the power to charge you for anything that you have not signed up for. Check in our contract and see if there is any mention of any such thing. And please let us know of where you read about these settings and if you are chraged on you ractual bill when you recieve it. Thanks.

Go to Settings/Connections/Connections/Advanced/Select Networks, make sure both are set to your provider, click "ok", then go to tasks/manage existing connections proxy settings and remove any proxy servers listed and check "connects to internet."
thanks a lot
hope this solves my issue.
