Google Calendar - Vega General

Hi, sorry for the noob question, my google skills are failing me on this one...
Is there a way to get the stock google calendar on the Vega... the one that comes with it does not sync with the online google calendar which has all my dates already in it.
Can I simply copy the Calendar.apk and Calendar_Storage.apk from my Galaxy S and install on the Vega, or is there more to it?

Modaco has a pack that installs all the google apps, however, I only want to Calendar.
I have downloaded the r8-vega-update-modacocustomrom-unsigned.zip
From it extracted the following:
Calendar.apk
CalendarProvider.apk
GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk (already on my device)
If I run the first two (install as normal .apk), will this work? I am at work now so don't have the vega with me to test.

Well to answer my own question... I installed the 2 .apk files, which it warned would overwrite existing files... But now i can sync my online calendar as i wanted.

[Q] I accidentally deleted my contacts apk

I accidentally deleted the default contacts apk from my kindle fire. Could somebody with a rooted device post the apk of the contacts apk.
Note: i was trying get google contacts sync working, then read somewhere else that I actually need the stock contacts apk. Doh!
There you go!
BTW, after rooting and installing the googleblahblahblahframework, you need an app named sync settings to access the sync settings page and enable contact sync and voilá!
Actually, you don't have to download sync settings at all!
go to gmail>>>menu>>>accounts>>>(dont click your account)>>>hit menu again>>>account settings>now hit your account and you're in your sync settings.
Contact sync?
Is one of those options contacts because I am not seeing it...

1. can i restore contacts via recovery flash/install zip..???
IF NOT HOW..
can you explain..
THANKS ALL
Rash, instilation is easy. You need to use root explorer, copy and paste the apk in the /system/app folder then you have to set the permisions by holding down on the apk. Set the first column(vertically) so each box has an X. In the second column you need an X in the top box. The rest of the boxes need to be empty. For an example you can find the video tutorial on youtube about installing the market. Diffrent apk here but the steps are the same.
I hope its not to soon for a double post but could someone upload the contacts provider apk as well?
it's on the same site post #2
The attached file is only the contacts apk not the provider apk, and sync settings, if thats what you were refering to is not the same app to my knolwedge. The provider apk is from google. Even if thats needed i cant find it on the market from the fire.
do you mean the googlecontactssyncadapter.apk ?
all google files should be in gapps.zip

Which .apk can be deleted?

Hello!
Can anybody tell me which .apk files I am safe to delete? My setup:
-NookManager
-GApps
-Kindle
-Will not be using *any* B&N Apps (however removing them using NookManager stops the Market from working)
The only GApp I am really interested in is the Market - Is it possible to side load this *only*? It's just lots of other stuff is installed as part of GApp which I have no need for... But there are so many .apk files in system/app and I'm concerned removing some may cause instabilities.
Thanks.

No you can't install just the Market. The Market is dependent on the Google Talk and other backend apks. There are patches to system files to get Android setup to work to activate the market. Better to install NTGAppsAttack and then delete what you don't need. After installing NTGappsAttack you can probably remove GenieWidget.apk, Calculator.apk, Calendar.apk, Gmail.apk and Talk.apk. These are all frontends so they shouldn't cause trouble. Before you do this you probably want to use Gmail to get into account and sync settings to turn off mail, calendar and contacts sync. Then you can try removing some of the backend stuff - GmailProvider.apk, CalendarProvider.apk, ContactsProvider.apk and GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk. I would start with renaming these apk's and seeing how it goes then if all is well you can delete them. Everything else I would leave alone.
Read through the NookManager and NTGAppsAttack threads. There is a discussion there somewhere about the disabling of B&N apps and the affect on the market.

[Q] gapps-config.txt Help

I'm probably not posting this in the correct forum, but my device isn't on this forum so I figured this is the next best spot for general help.
So I read in the TK Gapps thread a way to disclude certain things from installing/overwriting stock apps. One major one I do NOT want installed is Google Now Launcher. Among a few other things... However, I cannot quite figure out how to create this file, keep it from overwriting/flat out deleting some of the stock apps, and where exactly I should put the gapps-config file when flashing. If someone has done the custom install, if you can post your script and inform me of where it goes (I'm assuming you just flash the zip as you normally do with the config file in the same folder as the zip), I can easily figure it out. Just not sure where to start.
I found this but I'm having a hard time understanding if it's saying to just type Include at the top of the config file, and then only those apps will be installed WITHOUT removing things such as the stock Launcher. Or, if I have to add a separate section to keep it from deleting some of the stock options. Essentially, I want the Full edition installed, replacing things such as the default keyboard. But I don't want it to install things such as Google Now Launcher, Camera, or some of the Play (Movies, Games, etc) things, but I don't want it to delete the stock camera or stock Launcher... Things like that.
Assistance would be highly appreciated.
I've now posted this question on 5 forums looking for an answer... Sure, the majority of you that read this probably think I am some pathetic idiot loser that needs to get a clue. All I'm asking for is some clarification on how to write the config file and how it's handled by the flashing process so I can make sure I am doing it correctly. For the love of all that is good in this world, will someone, somewhere, PLEASE provide some assistance?!
This is what I'm wanting....
What I WANT installed:
Google System Base
Off-line Speech Files
Google Exchange Services
Chrome Browser
Google Clock
Cloud Print
FaceUnlock
Gmail
Google+
Google Calendar
Google Calendar Sync
Google Keep
Google Keyboard
Google News & Weather
Google Play Music
Google Play services
Google Play Store
Google App (Search)
Google Text-to-Speech
Google Wallet
Maps
Messenger
Sound Search for Google Play
Street View on Google Maps
TalkBack
YouTube
What I DO NOT want installed, but DO NOT want the Stock/AOSP versions removed:
Google Camera
Google Now Launcher
Photos
What I DO NOT want installed:
Google Docs
Google Drive
Google Earth
Google Play Books
Google Play Games
Google Play Movies & TV
Google Play Newsstand
Google Sheets
Google Slides
Hangouts
Now... How would I structure the config file to do this?
Why did you even make a thread to begin with?
This doesn't belong here, it belongs at the bottom of a Q&A after being answered many many times.
Put the entries for:
Google Docs
Google Drive
Google Earth
Google Play Books
Google Play Games
Google Play Movies & TV
Google Play Newsstand
Google Sheets
Google Slides
Hangouts
in your gapps-config.
That's it, it won't install them.
where the **** is Gapps Config.
Thats what i cant figure out.
Carefully read the opengapps wiki under https://github.com/opengapps/opengapps/wiki/Advanced-Features-and-Options
All your questions like where to put the gapps-config.txt file and much more are answered there.
How can i use the gapps-config file ?
i just heard about it but i can't find how to use it anywhere
Are you kidding??? I just posted the wiki link above your post!!!

I read the instructions. But I don't seem to find the gapps_config.txt file.
I downloaded gapps for nougat stock. Please help
is there any other ways to find it
**The gapps-config file must be placed in one of the following folders:
the folder containing the Open GApps installer (takes precedence)
Now I'm going to read
/sdcard/Open-GApps
/persist
/tmp/install
Going out on a limb here but I understand the above to say you have to create gapps-config file and put it in one of the above folders.
I'm a newb but recognize file structure, so I went into the terminal type #slocate gapps-config - search returned nothing. So I have to create directory /Open-GApps-folder and put gapps-config in it, within the /sdcard/ parent directory.
Basically I create the dir /Open-GApps/gapps-config in the /sdcard/ folder. Hope above provides some orientation.
I'm going to the following:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60944096&postcount=4
you create a text file called "gapps-config.txt" and you put it in your external memory, sdcard, whatever... it can be in lots of folders... in that file you configure your install.
I am trying to install Pico GApps. My gapps-config here shown does not work... insufficient space...
[my gapps-config-grouper.txt]
# try it this way
Include
Core
# stock removals -- these would work
LUpdater
LSetupWizard
LRecorder

Sprint 5.0.1 Calendar Storage APK and ODEX

Could anyone link to or send me these two files? I did some googling and I found them for older versions of Android but not for the stock lollipop rom for my phone. Flashing my phone with a new ROM isn't an option right now. I was trying to delete the stock calendar app so that Google Calendar would stop asking me to choose between the two when I create a new event with voice commands but accidentally deleted the Calendar storage Apk also. Next time I promise I will make a backup with titanium backup first! I already tried using the files from an older version and also from a sprint s5 but neither of these worked.
I downloaded what I believe to be the stock rom (took the better part of the day since it was on RapidGator: L720VPUGOH1_L720SPTGOH1_L720VPUGOH1_HOME.tar.md5) and I followed rwilco12's guide to extract the files I needed. I set the permissions to rw-r--r-- and moved them to the system/app folder, but Google Calendar and Calendar Storage both still crash and fail. I tried creating a folder the way it was in on the image (in priv-app) but still no dice.

Calendar provider apk

Hi,
I make a really big mistake. My plan was to use the Google Calendar. I uninstall Huawei calendar and also the calendar storage apk. Now non of them is working. If I open Google Calendar, I get the Message that I have to activate calendar storage. I downloaded the calendar storage apk, but can't install it because error message with parsing. Device is rooted where I can move the apk file manually to the system /app folder. But it also doesn't work. There is some sites with an explanation and say, it has to be the same apk from Huawei p9 lite. Can anyone of you upload the file? Or give me another advice, to use Google Calendar as before, without to install the whole firmware again.
Many thanks
Here is it https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bwl2-0VZtW1rRHRUMTZwWjlQdGM
Thank you very much, but i decide to flash the firmware again. It was not possible for me to install or to run calendar after moving it to the right folder. Now i have again a clean and new system. And yes, now i uninstall only the calendar app and not the calendar storage apk
