screen rotation in ASOPCMod - Hero CDMA General

im using asopCMod 2/22 and i cant stand having the screen rotate 270 degrees. It used to be an option with CM6 is there any way to eliminate the screen rotating to this position? Thanks.

Other than disabling screen rotation completely, no. I would like to shut off 270 as well, but we're out of luck until that option is built into the rom.

grrrr >< its really annoying trying to use in bed having it always rotate. Our hero seems to lag too much and it causes more frustration waiting for it actually rotate.

Is there any way to edit the build prop for something like this???
Yea its me again with the

yes. the line reads:
windowsmgr.support_rotation_270=true
all you would need to do is change it to "=false"

is there any way of editing this in terminal emulator?

Let me know if that works for you. I have changed that line on the build.prop on every GB update I flash, and it has no effect. All the other edits I do take effect as expected after a reboot. I hate the 270 rotation as well, and would love to find a way to stop it.

There's an option for that in Launcher Pro. Turn it off in there.

that will only work for the homescreens. apps will still rotate.

Who says you can't do it in terminal emulator?
Code:
echo "windowsmgr.support_rotation_270=false" >> /data/local.prop
Then it will persist across reflashes.

Thanks first I've heard of /data/local.prop
makes sense though I use firewall.local enough on Linux

Its a option to "wake" the phone using the joystick instead of pressing the power button on top. I dont use it because word on the street is it takes up battery very well could have been fixed so dont take my word for it. I just never used it when I had it. Muscle memory going for that power button.
Yeah but it's so much easier once you re-train your thumb to hit that button right front-and-center.
Only thing I've noticed is that fifty percent of the time it still doesn't wake it up.

Yea but somehow I feel that it is not working 100%. But seriously, flash. Its a neat feature that we're missing. Too bad eh?
Well, as I'm already using the Azure rom, I already have the 2 features I wanted most... putting apps on the sd card and the rotation, as already said. Except the rom allows a full 360 degree.
But the apps 2 sd was a big one since the Legend ran out of space after only a few app installs.

CM7 nightly 8 and Swype

Hello,
Running CM7 nightly 8 on my hero. I cannot get swype to work correctly, even with the latest release of the app. The installer works, updates, installs, even selects and configures the keyboard. However, when I actually go to type with it, no matter what key I press, the entire keyboard gets boxed and beeps loudly. Sounds exactly like a pre-boot PC speaker beep. Any ideas? If it works with a later version of CM7 I'd gladly upgrade. Anyone else have this issue?
8? We're on 30. Try the latest and see if that resolves the issue.
Can you type normal, just no swyping? If so, try long press on a text field and change to the android board, the for it again to go back to swype. See if it works then.

Switching input has always worked for me as well. I have to do this every time i flash the newest rom.
Thanks - that worked. For some reason installing and enabling swype through the installer didnt work for me over multiple tries, but installing, then disabling, then enabling through settings worked. Thanks.

Where can I get swype? I had it earlier on like darchstar 2.7, but I haven't found one. I hope this isn't "illegal" of me by asking.

Not illegal as such, though its considered warez because Swype asked for the apk to not be posted. If you really want it sign up for the beta.
