Best Baseband(Radio)

I only see Flipz releasing new Radios. Does anyone else release them? What all do you use and think you get the best single? Does anyone use the stock one?

I'm no expert, but in all honesty, I've used pretty much all of the radios offered and can't really tell a difference. Once again, I'm not an expert at this, just telling you my experiences with them.

radios are a thing of there own. one may work better than the other for different people in different locations. you just gotta try them for yourself

I agree, i feel like the one im using now is great, but if i loose signal, i always think maybe another would be good.

I have tried stock, the 2.42 latest, and now the 2.32 Verizon radio. I spend most weekends in a Verizon area roaming, and found the Verizon radio gave me more reliable 3G connectivity. The 2.42 radio while roaming on Verizon dropped out every now and then. When I am back on Sprint, the 2.32 Verizon radio works fine and I don't really notice any difference.
(btw I am hoping I got the versions correct!)

I am getting worse signal and speed after I flash Flipz newest Radio. Is there anyway I can go back to the stock one I had?

Flipz's website. Search, et cetera.

I flashed a new radio and I noticed a big connection increase. Then a newer one came out so i flashed it and it sucked. Then flips released a even newer one, but it was an older version radio and Its been the best radio iv had, huge increase. Me personally just south of dallas can tell a big difference between some of the radios.

Yea, I think im on the same one as you. The one from Verizon. I'm going to stick with that!

I no everyone including me wants there phone super fast and wants all the updates like froyo 2.2 and so on.... but you no what is it for? i mean the speed we text and call people, some games ya but really what do we need all this speed for? is there something i dont no? its a cell phone what do we need processors and ram and so on for? its fast why do we need it rediculously fast? it really wont make much differnce in our lives? i just need to no why we need it so fast? lol thx

Because we payed for the phone so why wouldn't we want the best experience possible?

hey man im with ya on that i want my phone fast as possible to, i just didnt no why lol i have no reason besides wanting more speed for the things i never use it for lol. i call / text and maybe a game but the speed is nice but just dont understand didnt no if i was missing something or not. like a crazy program u guys all use or something just didnt no what you guys used all this speed on
my point is i just wish there was something i can do with it...... i thought maybe u guys had found something that required all this speed lol but i guess not we all just want super phones

Flash support and 2.2 specific apps would be nice too

Eeek! I don't write perfectly, nor do I expect others to, but it makes me cringe to read this lol.
But yes, as someone said, you aren't a geek. You reach a point where you just want hardware to be faster for the sake of it. It doesn't matter if there is nothing that will use all the power, it just is satisfying have. Or at least this is how I feel .

see my problem is im never satisfied. i want the best of the best although its not needed i just want it

Everyone in this website expects more than stock from there phone/s. I think that's what xda is all about... anyways if your happy with stock why are you even here?

Im not sure exactly when it was but the furthest I can trace it back was middle of 2010.

I know attn1 had s-off a while back with his aria... I wonder when Alpharev will support the aria. It's supposedly been in development sice September '10.

I'd love that, but I'm sure he has more important things to worry about than a phone he doesn't even use anymore. It really is a shame.

i contacted attn1 on twitter and he told me to contact alpharev on their irc channel, no success yet as im told they are in Europe and time differences or they are just not there maybe others can jump on as well to see if we can get any progress with it i dont really know but anything is worth a try

[Q] How to always send and recieve data?

well basically what im saying is that when i play ps3 online i lag so i started like looking up if i could find something then when i saw the phone when i played it dint send util i fired a weapond or after that it will send data.. then just disconected or i startedbto go back nd forth .... please help

I believe he is tethering his PS3 through the phone but is not seeing the network traffic leave the phone until he does certain things like fire his weapon in the game.

Oh. Then the answer to his question is no. That is how the phone behaves on any ROM/kernel/radio combo. Nothing he can do about that. If he is getting lag, he should switch to something like a high-speed connection over a cable modem.

Maybe there is some difference in language or culture but I don't read estalling's reply as rude. Direct, but not rude. The problem isn't that tethering behaves differently, but that the mobile network does not operate like a WiFi/LAN (always on) connection works.

using dark unicorn v2.5 MDJ kernel nd R-26.13.04.19_M

I can play minecraft over hspa+ here in San Diego with no lag. The downside is as was stated you will get connection drops just due to the way the network works. You may want to try setting yourself to hspa+ only. This should keep the phone from kicking down to edge to save power. If that fails you could try to find a app or Web page that has auto refreshing to keep the connection active. All this will depend on the game you are playing as you will still get short connection drops that will kick you from games and or cause "lag".

I tried that but it mess up all the colors and theme, dont really like it.
i hope able to find the mod to change the logo itself only..
