[Q] [March 6] (Q) NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.3 intermitent Speaker - HD2 General

Hello all. I just downloaded NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.3 and ran it on my HTC HD2 and love the way it runs and looks. I previously had a Desire SD dual boot, which I HATED, but I wanted to try NAND. I REALLY love this, but when I make phone calls, I lose speaker sound and no call volume. If the screen flickers, it does this as well. I installed 2.08 HSPL, and everything seemed to run smoothly, but my only issue thus far and hopefully this is it is the sound issue. Robot voice at times. No ringer, no volume on received or dialed calls, alarms, etc.
Any suggestions on how to correct?
Again, I LOVE this, but this is the only issue I am currently experiencing.

Why do you start a new thread and didn't post your problem in the ROM thread ?
Hint: read first post in the NexusHD2 thread...text below known issues might help

[Q] Android Audio

I was unsure if this should be posted into the HD2 Q&A, or here in the Android Dev General section, so please forgive me if it is in the wrong location.
I have a TMO Branded HD2 (TMOUS 1024) with LIA Touch of Glass as my WM ROM. I have flashed HSPL by bepe, and I am using Radio 2312.50.02_2
I have an 8 GB SD Card, formatted as Fat32.
I have tried nearly every variant of Android ROMs available for the HD2, and with all of them I am experiencing the same exact problem.
Problem: I run CLRCAD and HaRET, then the phone boots Android just fine. I can connect to the web, sync email and contacts, use live wallpapers, etc. The one thing I can not do is make/receive any phone calls. The phone rings (or dials out if I am initiating the call), but the audio coming through the speaker is substantially below par. For starters, it is very quiet. But it is also very high pitched. It almost sounds like one of the Chipmunks is talking.
This happens with every ROM I have tried, and the few Radio's that I have tried. Can anyone point me into the right direction to hopefully fix this?

Might be your rom.
What Roms have you tired, NRG?

Sound not working. Ive searched and tried fixes!

Hello all. Im using Chuckdroid rom with the new radio 2.15 (although the problem still existed with 2.14) and Mdeejay Froyo revolution android.
I had this issue spring up unexpectedly. I had been using Mdeejay's previous version for a day or two with no issues. Then all of a sudden the audio stopped working. I tried updating the radio first to 2.15 from 2.14. Then I tried rebooting after initial launch because it was Froyo. Then I tried updating the Android version to the newer one Mdeejay had. Still nothing.
When it first boots there is sound if I press volume up. Then nothing.
Any thoughts? Is this because of Froyo? Am I missing something?
I jsut changed out the Android version again to: CMYLXGOs.Droid.RedTopia.v1.0.1. It is still not working. I have no idea where I messed up here. Im still searching! Anybody?
Bump. Still having issues guys.

Im at a loss. Ive never had an issue I couldnt figure out until now. Next thing Im going to do when I get home is change the kernel. If that doesnt work then a different rom. If that doesnt work, I guess change the radio to 2.12 or before. Other than that I dont know what to do. Maybe format and start over.
I wish somebody would weigh in with this.

[Solution] Robot voice issues - NAND Builds

I believe I have found a fix for robot voice issues. I was playing arround with several builds and could not get it fixed. It did not seem to matter what type of build, sense / non sense / kernel was used, but randomly I would get robot voice.
I know this has happened to a lot of people but I think I have found the root cause and a temporary fix.
The problem seems to be stemming from the dial pad sounds. I noticed that before I heard the tone from the keypad there would be a weird click sound. Then the robot voice would appear. If you then tried to dial again it seemd to crash the phone.
To fix the issue simply go into Settings -> Sound and disable Audible touch tones. I disabled Haptic feedback as well but do not think this has anything to do with the sound. (May differ slightly on how to disable on certain builds)
After I have done this I have done multiple reboots and have not had any futher issues with sound.
Sorry if this has been posted before but I just wanted to let you guys know what I have found out
Cool!
so simple...
It worked for me. I falshed sevral radio version and was about to flush the whole android adventure down the toilet.

T-Mobile USA
I upgraded my radio on my T-Mobile HD2 USA with with ver. 2.15.20.14 and it solved my robot voice problem. See if that works for others.
Upgrade just the radio, and nothing else, did the trick for me.
Saved the day!

[Q] Very poor call/voice quality

Hi all!
First of all i'm sorry for my english!
I think that a lot of people will agree with me that HD2 (with android) have many sound issues.
I may be patient with most sound problems, but not with microphone issue couse no one can understand me when talking with me.
My friends told me that they don't hear me clear, but i wasn't paying attention till i gave my phone to my friend for a week. When i called him i understood what are they talking about.
I heard him like FM radio with poor receptivity.
It feels like microphone is boosted to 100% and most of words aren't plain.
I tried to search the web and xda forum and didn't find any solution.
Someone in forum found issue with audio libraries in /system/lib (libaudio.so ; libcutils.so ....).
I tried to replace them with his files, but my rom was stuck on boot.
Does someone have similar issues? Knows how to repair? Something?
Unfortunately I have experienced robot voice both on Pongster's CM7 v1.0 & GBX v8.0 roms.
So, I tried gpc hd2 gb v2.0e rom which was released on March 9, 2011.
Absolutely NO robot voice & high mic gain from the 1st boot on two hd2s(tmous Leo 1024, Radio 2.15.50.14) in my home.
I didn't neet to turn off audible touch tones in sound settings.
Hopefully it will work for you too, mate!

[Q] System goes crazy when receiving a phone call

hi all
i have been using nand android builds since day one , and in most of the builds i am having this same issue
sometimes when i receive a phone call the system just hangsout and then gives me a force close msg for the phone application !!
either way , if i force close or not , no further phone calls can be answered and the phone will freeze for about 30 seconds with every call
also when this happens the volume buttons wont modify the volume for the media anymore and the phone wont give any sounds
so is there something i can do to get rid of this ?
i tried android builds based on 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 , miui , sense , no sense , and i have this issue with all of them
again , it happens like 10% of the times
hope i get an answer to this
I want to ask what exactly rom are you using (does it use newest tytung r10 kernel?) and tell you that I have not been experiencing these issues with NexusHD2 2.8 rom (2.3.4).
fpu
i tried typhoon , rafdroid , ndt miui , and plenty more and i think typhoon and ndt miui has the latest kernel
have you ever tried receiving a phone call while the camera application is running
this seems to trigger the issue many times , not always tho
if you have the call recorder running turn it off. it was causing me lot's of problems.
Hi,
I have the same problem.
No matter what kernel.
Already hardresettet and reinstalled everything. Radio, Magldr, Rom, you name it.
I even did format 10 (or what ever it's called)
Anyone else experiencing this?
Will get a logcat later.

+1 Same ****...
Are You using Magldr? I had that problem with mag. Than i switched to cLK. and im okay.
I just recieved a phonecall without problems.
Flashed the .12 radio from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787&highlight=radio
however... My rom feels a bit slower now.
I am playing with it now.
Maybe clearing Dalvik cache will help. Or the issue comes back... Will see.
Got the same problem, tried different ROM's but no result. I'm thinking already to switch back to WM 6.5 :\

Yes that's it. Works fine for me
Mea culpa just today I had the same issue, for first time.
It's nothing major and reboot made it work fine again, but breaks my belief in HD2 as perfect, native-like Android device.

Beside changing of radio, THIS seems to be interesting.
I'm on MAG but considering switching to cLK (for many reasons - fastboot support being one, second that I don't need 99% of MAGLDR features).
Let's see how it all pans out ;-)

It just happened again! On the new rom... :/
There is a thread, however, stating that it's due to skype.
This can very well be true.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1164058
but I need skype to stay on contact with my girlfriend... why can't android support skype natively instead of sipthings? -.-
Well still... anyone tried clk (instead of magldr) and skype?
Disable "Audible touch tones". It's under Sound in Settings, it did the trick for me.
I thought this was against robot voice?
well what ever. let's give it a try. Thx
In my case, first call after reboot always had the robot voice. To fix it I'd just hang up and call again. But lately on non-Sense ROM's, the first call would go with robot voice and then I would get Force close on the phone app. This fixed it for me.
BTW I have T8585 Leo with 2.12 radio.

For me recieving a call does nothing but a very bad noise. hd2 nearly freezes after that. I cannot hang up most of the times. If I somehow manage to, phone app forcecloses and connection cannot be reestablished until I pull out the battery...
Good old Robotvoice. I wish that was my problem.
i have switched to cLK about 3 days ago and till now i have got no problems at all
