More calendar items on home screen

I have read for other HTC devices you can make a flicking gesture on the clock on the home screen to make it smaller. This then enables more calendar items to be displayed on the home screen. Has anyone managed to do this on the Jade?

I also would appreciate any comment on this.
or any other solution to get more than one appointment displayed on the home tab.

The gesture only works with devices like the Touch Diamond or the Touch HD (they have TouchFlo 3D "on board").
The 3G uses TouchFlo 2D. These gestures are not implemented here.

To make matters worse, if you've got an "All Day" event like a Birthday/ Aniversary it only shows that item and not the more relevent stuff like meetings etc! Really needs a fix.

True. I believe it's due to the space limitation. It only shows the earliest timed appointment of the day, "All day" being first to start at 00:00 hrs.
My method => just tap the "calendar" and see the detail listings of the day's appointments.

Well, I had the same problem by the Calendar didn't show more than 1 appointment and it didn't even show the appointments the days after tomorrow...
So I added the Second Today and Today Agenda.
Then I need to press 2 buttons before I can see the full details of the upcoming appointments!
e.g. upcoming appointments up to a week!
Sorry, I can't remember where I download these...

You don't have to use it.

Suddenly today I saw 2 lines of my calendar? Is this a known improvement on TF2D? Or my phone is somehow screwed up and display 2 lines? The only things I did is upgrade to the new official ROM after my my TF2D refuse to start on my original stock ROM.

Confirm is my phone screwed up...soft reset and back to 1 line...too bad....but it actually can display but not sure why HTC didn't think of it earlier.

Not sure if this is old news. I have tested it again and confirm my TouchFLO2D is showing 2 lines of items. It has been great to be able to see 2 lines. But seems to work with original theme only as it is able to cater the extra calender line. I tried with one other theme and it screws it up. So I am sticking to original theme. So glad to see 2 line items.

Yes, I had the same experience. The home screen can only show 2 lines with the original home theme.

they can both be customized fully by added widgets as shorcuts.

Hi Yes you can it has 2 set's of home screens. The "lifestyle home screen" is a plan one with no real bussiness applications,but if you got to the Pro screen you can see all you apointments and more than 2 at a time. see below image

Hi mate, was setup sbp shell and I wondering this soft have to register. Do you have any idea ?

This is the Beta version that seems to have founds its way onto many a forum for download this morning, probably will work in SPB's favour as this version of mobile shell is spot on brilliant.
Have my paid version of version 2, so looking forward to the official version, which should be available in the next week or so.

I did that, i changed the settings to show more appointments, but it still only shows 2.. in every mode.. anyone else with this problem? (I want to see more appointments, without having to select the calendar. As in the lifestyle screen, where you can select 3 'pages', i want one page filled with al my upcoming appointments.
I hope somebody knows how

SMS program that will show full thread?

The built in messaging in WM only shows so many messages per page. You have to keep clicking on the "older" link to keep moving through the messages. So I'm wondering if there are any SMS managers, etc. that will show the entire thread on one page. Also, show the time along with the date?

I too would like to know this answer for our kaisers and tilt 2's. However, i am suspecting it would slow things down a bit, but am willing to see what the difference is. Also the date and time would be nice

thats what i m looking for as well, the SMS client and build in dialer are the only cons for me with this phone

Mine shows the time on some, and the date on others, but never both on all messages. Makes no sense to me

not sure if this is what you were trying to see but if you go in to the contact individually it shows your entire conversation =)

Try resco contact manager. It incorporates nicely but I don't think it will be what you completely want because the rhodium is a nice device with great graphics. For wm 6.1 it was a great addition, but check it out.

Yeah, the date and time show up if it is the SMS was received in the current day. The problem is if you backup your phone and then restore it, like through myphone.microsoft.com, it loses track of the order.
The HTC version does show the whole thread at once, with dates and times but you can't export the thread like you can in the WM threading, which I do by just doing a select all, copy, paste to word, save.
I guess what I'm really trying to get at, is the ability to archive conversations as it appears in threading mode.

[Q] Google Now weather card no longer provides hourly slider?

I swear I used to get an interactive weather card when I tapped it that have me an hourly slider and now when I tap the card I get the same card followed underneath with a bunch of websites related to weather. This is happening on all 4 android phones. Did I dream it used to give me a card with a slider?

I get the same but weirdly I have a gap between the card and search results which, iirc, was where the slider used to be?

i see google updated 'google search' and google now on feb 14 with 'new' weather cards and other updates. looks like they took this feature away. dammit i have 'eye in the sky' weather but it galls me to always have to go to 3rd party apps for something as simple and elegant as the hourly slider to see the weather. i ride bikes alot during the day and used that to help gauge when it is raining and not to get a riding window in.

I miss this feature a lot!!! They really took away from Google Now by doing this IMO.
Google Now used to open the browser. you can do this yourself, but it sucks that Google Now is not integrated in the same way.
if you open chrome and in the address bar type 'weather' it will take you to the same screen that Google Now used to.

Same issue, sucks that slider was dope.
You can just go to Google in Chrome but I liked it better the way it was before.

The problem is tapping the weather card used to send "weather" as a url to the browser, but now it sends it to search. You can get the old card by typing weather in the browser until they fix it.

This started happening with my Nexus 7 months ago and I didn't know why it suddenly stopped. I was happy that it was still being displayed on my Nexus 4, but that just stopped as well in the last couple of weeks.
I noticed that you can still get the slider without having to manually type "weather" into the omnibox. Just:
i) scroll down then up and you should see a scrollable menu pop up at the bottom of the content window.
ii) Swipe from right to left on that menu and you should see a "phone" icon.
iii) Click on that, you'll get the option of searching weather again and some links will be displayed. Just click the Google Search link and it will show the results with the old slider.
This is a lot more cumbersome and annoying, so I hope they fix this soon.

Ok, I've tried searching for advice, but this is proving exceptionally hard to find help for, as trying to search for anything about it uses such common words that I can't even find out if the matter has been brought up before!
I have a standard UK Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, bought from Carphone Warehouse and on EE network. I've no problems with it like that, and don't really plan on modifying it at all.
BUT whenever I swipe the edge screen, I get this 'helpful advise' show up.

Ok, it was useful for the first day I bought the phone, but I can't find any way to get rid of it now that I know what the Edge screen does!
And it really annoys me that it's there spoiling the sleek look of the screen.
I'm now using Nova Launcher, and hoped that would fix it, but it doesn't seem to have affected this matter at all.
Does anyone know if there's a box I can tick to remove the helpful text, or something else I can do?

That seems to have done the trick! Very odd!!
So I removed all the apps from the Edge panel.
Restarted the phone.
Added some apps that I'd downloaded, like WhatsApp & Instagram.
And this seemed to do the trick, the 'help text' didn't show up! :laugh:
I restarted the phone and it was still gone. :good:
.....
But then when I re-added all my apps to make it look like the screenshot above, the 'help text' came back!
So there must be a maximum number of apps that you can have in the 2 columns.
I deleted the 'Travel' folder in the bottom right which had 3 apps in it, and just put 'Gallery' in it's place, with 'Instagram' on it's own in the bottom left; and the 'help text' has disappeared again!
Strange... but hopefully helpful for anyone else with this problem. :highfive:

I've tried moving apps around, I'm using just the one column now instead of the two... it worked for a few days but the 'help text' keeps coming back!
