so my streak wont boot past a black screen after i tried to downgrade to 2.1. The upgrade seemed like it went good but then when i rebooted it a black screen came up and it stays for a good 30 mins. I have tried flashing the alt recovery and stock recovery but it will still go to the black screen when i get to the dell recovery and press update from package.. If i could just flash another rom i would be ok(i think) but i literally cant do anything on it except go to fastboot mode. Please help because i cant find my specific problem anywhere. The guide i followed was homeiss. By the way i have an att us streak that previously had 2.2 on it. Please help and thanks.
I recently purchased an off contract Verizon Tab from a friend.
I had successfully rooted it using the superoneclick.exe file.
I since decided to flash Overcome_v1.2.1 with Odin using the exact steps as listed & even watched the video 2x.
"Click start and wait for PASS! to show highlighted green on Odin.
9. Your Galaxy Tab will Reboot, and get stuck on the Samsung Boot Screen. This is fine.
10. Turn your Galaxy Tab off by holding the power button for about 5 seconds.
11. Turn your Galaxy Tab on into RECOVERY mode (Press Volume UP and Power On at the same time).
12. The Galaxy Tab will now perform the EXT4 conversion.
13. Sit tight, depending on how much data you have, this can take quite a long time.
14. Once finished, click reboot system now (by pressing the power button)."
Now...I don't know what "quite a long time" is but after 30mins, there was still nothing but a blank sceen w the tell tale sign of a light, thin, margin type as seen on the video.
I then followed these steps:
"IF your Tab does not boot after flashing the kernel and hangs at the Samsung Galaxy Tab screen, you must follow the following procedure
1.Get a stock rom package (any of Rotohammer's firmwares will work)
2.Get P1_add_hidden.zip attached to this post and extract the P1_add_hidden.pit file
3.Using Odin 1.7, put stock rom (Roto-JME-Full-v4.tar for example) in PDA slot.
4.Put P1_add_hidden.pit in Pit slot
5.Check repartition box
6.Put Tab in download mode by holding Volume Down and Power, connect to the computer, and press start.
7.After this, the Tab will reboot normally. Shut it down and return to download mode.
8.Open Odin 1.7 and reconnect the Tab.
9.In the PDA slot, choose the Overcome Kernel v2.0 tar file for use with Odin. Press start
10.It will flash the kernel then reboot. Upon reboot, you should hear the sexy robot voices informing you of the status of the EXT4 conversion.
11.Once done, the Tab will boot normally. At this point you can load Overcome v1.2.2 rom (or any other Rom of your choosing)
12.NOTE - Overcome 1.2.2 includes v2.0 of the kernel, so no reflashing is required after install."
I never got past the part in step 10 to hear any responses. And instead of searching for one of Rotohammers FIRMWARES as suggested, I input a kernel from Voodoo!
Now I can STIL get into DL mode but whenever I try a normal reboot or recovery, it runs through -Wiping DATA- Formatting DATA---DATA: Wipe failed!
over and over until the Tab reboots and when the samsung splash screen somes up, there is a weird "flashing" of the screen in multiple colors.
PLEASE...for God's sake...with all the great inds on here, someone help me!

You need to find a stock Verizon firmware and flash through Odin

Thank you very much! I will attempt that. I seem to be stuck in DL mode though.
I was downloading in Odin and the Tab has been stuck at 95% for the past 30mins.
Should I power off or is it a sure fire way to brick it?

Assuming there are no bootloaders being flashed you can't really make it un-recoverable. What exactly were you flashing?

Kill the the current Odin flash. Then flash the k-lean kernel. Reboot into recovery. Flash k-lean ROM

i had simmilar problems in past.
Maybe you have problems with the usb ports of your machine.
If you have amd/sis/via for usb chipset at your computer try to do the procedure with another machine with intel chipset.

i am trying to fix my brothers vibrant
i have flashed the phone many times myself and have the jig
i have put the phone back to stock before but now it don't work
when i Odin it using the AIO tool (Odin 1.85) it boot then then show the tmobile word collide into there logo then i see the galaxy s logo and the tmobile jingle plays (it is suppose to play when the words collide) and the screen turns black when i turn it on the button light up and it look like the drives pop up on the computer ( can access the drives) but the screen is still black.
my brother told me he was formatting the data partition when he then rebooted it and then it went all to hell. i even tried to repartition it and i notis that the i900 logo pops up after flashing to stock (flash the froyo bootloader removed it) but i still have a black screen. The next thing i might have to try is unbrickable mod
but i have no problem getting into downloaded mode.
i read that someone was having the same problem and flashed using odin 1.3 but i can't seem to get that version. multiupload look like it is blocked for the USA. this is strange, it kind of feel like there is the old kernel still stuck in there.
try reflashing the stock rom. Make sure the battery is full! I had a similar issue with my gf's phone as well as my own. I have fixed my gf's phone by using switching USB cables and making sure it was plugged in.

Hello Everyone
Let me start by saying bought 2 verizon Galaxy tabs (SCH-I800 model) i got one to cm9 the other is giving me trouble. Here is what i did. This Tab was Running 2.2.3 and it was running good. I used Heimdall To put the Cubed 3 2.3.5 rooted Rom following these instuctions on this page

Heimdall finished sucessfully then the device rebooted. When it came back up the sumsung logo appeared for a sec then something that looked like snow started on the screen (I think it is the samsung logo all garbled up). The snow continues for about 1 min then it goes to a black screen and sits there. I can boot into download mode without the garbled screen but if i power it off and plug in the charger the batter indicator shows up for a sec then the image goes garbled. I AM STUMPED!
I have tried reflashing it to the Stock rom folling these guides without success.

All of the flashes with heimdall finish successfully but the same snowy screen appears on boot then goes to black screen. I would apperciate a push in the right direction of if anyone has encountered this before a way to fix this thing.

Ok Since no one has responded to me I assume that either no one knows or that no one understands the problem. Either way i have made a video showing the problem. Please watch it and see if you can help me out with this issue. Please Note that before i started flashing the roms the Tab was working with Android Ver 2.2 and the display was fine and this develpoed because i flashed it. Also the the screen doesn't get messed up in the download screen. The Download screen is perfectly ok. Can someone please lead me in the right direction or point me to someone who may be able to help me.

I may have gotten the OS to work
OK here is an update to the situation:
I continued to look online and i found a Rom that was for this tablet but it is marked for US Cellular. I flashed it in using the US cellular install. When it came up it was still snowy on boot but I discoverered that if i push the Power Button twice the OS comes up. It is 2.3.5 that was flashed into it. I want to be able to use clockwork mod recovery to flash other roms into it the problem is that with the snowy boot i can't. I have provided a video demonstation of what the tablet does and the working OS below.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this problem fixed. To me it seems like some type of bootloader problem.
you might be right, it seems to be boot loader.
You may need a complete rom that has boot.bin and Sbl.bin so you can flash it completely with --primary-boot ./boot.bin --secondary-boot ./Sbl.bin
be careful though because the only way to brick the tab is by screwing up boot loader.
Sounds great! Anyone have any idea where i can get a complete rom or even just the bootloader files. Also since I have 2 of the same tablet can I make a boot.bin and a Sbl.bin from the other tablet. If so how would i do that. Also would i use Heimdall to flash them to the broken tablet?
I don't know how to extract.
Must be just some dd command on the right partition.
Ibdont know any cdma rom that has bootloader files.

Today i wanted to go for 4.3. I've tried flash it from ODIN 3.09. It says flashed successfully but when i reboot, it doesnt boot. Shows "Samsung Galaxy S4" and then no boot animation or anything. Just blank black screen. I need your help because i have to meet my friends. :crying:

We need more info:
Which file dit you flash?
Dit you flash one file in PHONE?
or mulitple files, like PIT+BOOTLADER+PDA?
Also it is a good idea to check the MD5 before you flash to make shure the download is not corrupt.
Can you stil go into download mode? Volume Down + Power + Home
Can you go into recovery? Volume UP + Power + Home
Also you can retry with Odin3 v1.85.

Here is my suggestion, reboot the phone into recovery mode. (it's ok if its a stock recovery)
After going into recovery do a "factory reset" and see if the phone starts up normally.
There is at least a 50/50 chance that it will.
If it still does not boot then you need to go to SamMobile: http://www.sammobile.com
and get the stock official ODIN flash firmware for your specific phone model.
I would have given you the exact download link for your specific phone if you would
have been more SPECIFIC and added the EXACT model of your phone in your post.
(i9500-i9505-i9505G and so on)
