Official Xperia Arc Launcher - Epic 4G General

Figured id share with my fellow epic owners. Has some nice little touches on it, when moving shortcuts and widgets around, when deleting stuff from homescreen, overall i like this better than the Acer launcher.

New touchwiz?

Ok in all the pics of the tab ive seen the launcher looks like a hybrid of the vanilla froyo launcher and touchwiz sooo is this what touchwiz 4 will look like????
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
all the ones ive seen look like tw3 to me but if it is different i think you might be right
As best I know its tw3... Some of the stuff I've seen even had the same wallpaper as the Galaxy s. Other than that, maybe you're just seeing different/updated icons for its firmware revision.
Alternatively, could be that a reviewer has played about to get things just how they wanted. No point in having droid if you can't load up your favourite widgets

I believe it IS an updated TouchWiz as it has the pinch to zoom out home screen function and some of the icon designs are different.
This is the pic I saw with the new touchwiz/vanilla hybrid it looks really nice http://www.samsunghub.com/2010/09/06/samsung-galaxy-tabs-model-numbers-for-different-operators/

from the videos i have watched, that is froyo and when you tap on the applications icon, it takes you to touchwiz.

Oh thats a good point. Since we don't have an official Froyo to compare it to on the Galaxy S, nor do we know what extras and changes they'll have made for the larger form factor, its very hard to compare.
I really don't think its TW4 or anything, because they would be pimping the fact its all new and improved in the literature.

Certainly could be. I guess the Tab needs its own version of TW anyways (higher res icons maybe, and just stuff calibrated for the larger screen) and I certainly see what you mean about it looking like a hybrid. Particularly now I'm running a themed non-TW on my galaxy, I can see it a lot more on the home screen. The menus is still TW for sure, but to me it looks like it has some LauncherPro love right out of the box instead of the standard TW dock. And thats a good thing IMHO.
Not saying I hate TW or anything, but that I never liked the dock and always did something to it to make it better.

TouchWiz on the G2...

Now, no hating the OP for such a dubious question. I have grown to liking the TouchWiz launcher when I was using my Vibrant. Snce I 'upgraded' to a HTC G2, I was wondering if the TouchWiz launcher can be ported to the G2?

not sure cuz i thought it was so tight into the software but if you want a subsitute there was a cool launcher call go launcher in the android market it has the same type of style where the apps scroll sideways and theres even buit in task killer anda few more cool feature rite in the launcher menu.

Zeam dev is working on it again

Zeam launcher has been updated to 2.8.8, which means Cloakt is working on it again. Fiured i'd share since some people might've liked it.

Word! Thanks for the heads up. I rocked this launcher hard for a while but ultimately had to switch it up because it wasn't being supported at all.
I've been running LP for a few months (love it). What do you guys like about Zeam? How does it compare w/LP?
Thanks!
Interesting, didn't realize it had been abandoned. Been using it since I found it on my hero. The best. Everything I do need (lotsa small icons in dock) and nothing I don't.

Zeam pretty much doesn't have any special features at all. Vertical scrolling app drawer. I loved it because it was so lightweight and I keep six apps in the dock. Super no frills.

I am using Launcher Pro because is stable , fast , have some very useful widgets and nice customization options.

For me, ADW Launcher ex is the best, because thre's a lot of themes and i feel it good !

The only time I used it was the version you made, due to that bottom bar being way too oversized and hideous imo..
I didn't like the lack of any customization though so it didn't last long.
love ADW Laucher :x
GO Launcher EX with Suave theme. Simply beautiful. The wallpaper scroll/no-scroll option renders Wallpaper Wizardrii obsolete.

Spd shell 3d

Anybody using spd shell 3d? And if so, what are your thoughts on it?

Really, I love it. So much better than the stock UI.

I've never used it on the Atrix. Bought it when it came out. but it just drained my Desire!
Plus i have always prefered a more stock look. But no denying its really smooth and has fantastic looks.
I use it as well, i like the look of it, it really has some cool eye candy. I haven't noticed too much of a battery drain, wish it had some more widgets though
I have been using it March. I have no complaints. I switch launchers from time to time to try something else but I always come back to sod shell 3d. Espierlauncher is the only other launcher I like on the atrix and I use that to make my wife and friends mad since they all have iPhones. I am running. CM7 and I don't see any extra battery drain with this launcher. Assonance as they make it available for tablets my eeepad will be running it

Today's updated added support for tablets! Looks and runs great on my GTab 10.1
I have it and like it but not as much as the cheaper launchers

It sucks. It randomly closes and then when hitting home button has to reload. Too bad because everything else works top notch and its amazing looking.

I used it way back when I had Windows Mobile and I loved it, but for some reason I don't feel it's the same on Android.
Don't get me wrong, it runs good on the Atrix, but it feels like overkill for a launcher.
Maybe if it had more useful widgets I would give it another try.
I always come back to Launcher Pro.
PS. Btw, it's real name is SPB Mobile Shell 3D ;-)

I've been using it on nd off cause it have to freeze my market to use it, its OK but does need more of its own customization and that price is not gettin paid by me lol got the Google search discount

Oh well I did. I'm not paying 15$ for a launcher regardless specially this one its got a few nice Widgets yea true but wat is so special that makes it cost 3-4x as much as others ?
Sent from my Atrix-4G, stock 2.3.4 (rooted)
I'd like to try it, but I could never justify $15.00 for a home replacement launcher or almost anything in the app market.
It is a nice launcher, but how customizable it isn't keeps me from using it regularly. Not to mention it frequently crashes with no error, just a black screen then says 'SPB shell is loading...' Navigation and transitions are generic and redundant in some cases. Most of the SPB widgets look nice, but leave a lot to be desired. Updates are infrequent and all the major problems have yet to be resolved.
Its a nice product to demonstrate a futuristic-looking phone but in terms of functionality, it's like putting the steering wheel in the glovebox of a car.
If you haven't checked out Go Launcher recently, I highly encourage it. 100% free, developers update the app at a feverish pace, and it is amazingly customizable.
