I cant get Google talk to install. Im rooted with CM7, I originally uninstalled gtalk, but we have started using it at work, so I would like to start using it again. I downloaded one apk online, but every time i try to run it, it force closes. I read somewhere that I need a Google framework and services apk also. Somebody give me a hand with this. I also tried reloading the gapps rom from my sdcard, but no luck still get force closes with gtalk.
I'd like to know too. It was really hard to find when I removed it.
Here is the Talk.apk file from /system/app/:

Hope this works for you.

I cannot purchase any apps in teh market ATM before I get to teh pop up when u click purchase I get a message saying "An error has occured, please try agian" been doing that since wednesday
I have tried switching roms, went into the market and hide all my duplicate devices and nothing
An old friend taught me this;
Download the new market app. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329392
Using root explorer, go to the directory where your current vending.apk is.
Delete it.
Copy your new market app you downloaded to the same directory.
Rename it to vending.apk.
Make sure you check permissions, as they must be the same as the other apps.
Reboot.
Go into your app manager.
Delete the market app cache.
Should be ok now. I had the same issue a few weeks ago. Installing the new app by the usual way, didn't fix anything.
that seemed to fix it, i did the clear cache but not removing the market, odd too cause its witha fresh install thanks agian
No problem. Glad it's working.
I had the exact same issue, but clearing the cache didn't fix it, nor did the normal market installs. Was strange. Had to use my ph to purchase the apps, then install through the tab.
this new market makes FC when i try to download some of the apps.
with others works great.
what could be the reason?
thors rom 14.2
proxonic
Supposedly, the new market was for android 2.3 and not HoneyComb per say. Occassional FC were a known issue but seems to run ok overall. Suppose they will put out a new version for HC soon.
I just used Kindle Water to root and installed Root explorer. When I moved Vending.apk and googleservicesframework.apk to system app, changed permissions, and installed, they both say, "package not installed". I have rebooted and the same thing happens. Anyone know why this is happening and what I can do about it?
Try to install them, moving the installed apks to system/app, uninstalling, then installing again from system/app where you placed the copied installed versions and see if that might work for you
Thanks....still not working.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to me. That did not work either. I am able to download android apps from the app market on my computer, as for some reason it now reads my Kindle in the list of options of where to install, so I have most everything I need. Google Talk still won't install and Google Music won't function properly either There's no link to the market directly on the Kindle, but like I said, it will now let me install from the computer so I guess it's ok. Thanks again for the advice.
If anyone else has any suggestions, please let me know. I would like to be able to access the market directly form the Kindle and have apps like Google Talk and Google Music work.
Thanks to northmendo, Jcase, and ST3_P2 for building KindleWater which allowed me to root my Kindle in the first place!
Give this thread a look and see if that might give you some insight. Also you might have downloaded a bad googleservicesframework.apk or vending.apk so make sure to get the ones from this post. When I first installed Market I had issues with it working until I installed the files from the post I linked.
Other times users have had Market install but it is not visible until signing into google services through settings > accounts & sync. Give that a try if all else fails.
Good luck!

Hi,
I am kind of new to Android (not linux) and I am asking myself, if it is even possible to enable the search function somehow in Google Market.
There are several attempts to do so and some report it working. Unfortunately, the working reports are so old that I am confused weather it is still possible or not.
I have tried several Vending.apk's, even the ones reported working as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15084704&postcount=51
I am on 1.1.2. Maybe someone could confirm/disprove Market search working or not. Then we would know if struggling is worth the task getting it to work.
Thanks for the reply

Use SearchMarket.apk to search for apk's in the market.
It work's if you have registered your gmail account correctly (that is your market.apk works/connects to google play).
http://www.appbrain.com/app/searchmarket/youten.redo.searchmarket?install=appwidget
yeah no, that was not what i meant.
Of course Market is working with a proper gmail adress. I was talking about it being possible to search the market w/o searchmarket app. Like people telling it would work, but most posts are still of 2011. So my question is: Is it even possible to search the Market in nowadays Google Play time w/o 3rd party apps?
Why is searching not possible? IMO, it is because of server restictions, not because of the Vending.apk. Right?
So I assume these "claimed to be working" Vending.apk's are not working anyway anymore, are they?
Thx
How can I get the SearchMarket.apk file for manual adb installation? My Nook Market app won't let me install any app.
Edit: Managed to get it installed by searching for it from within the Browser and installing from the web interface. Weird but after that the SearchMarket app was shown topmost on MyApps in Market and could be clicked, which begun installation.
The problem is Market for Nook only displays a limited # (~15) of MyApps (given I have a Galaxy S3 with 350+ apps installed and that the Nook Market doesn't restrict to Nook installed ones).
just download market search from gstore ....... log on gmail acc that u root ur nst with and go to google store and search ur appz ur desire and download to ur acc ....... once u connect ur nook to wifi ur appz will download successfully , between that i am use market seacher on my rooted nst 1.1.2 and works great till now , try methid above with reinstall market searcher
good luck

Just in case.
youten.redo.searchmarket.apk
The apk itself is free so i guess uploading it here is not illegal.
I recently uninstalled (deleted) the apks of certain android apps like gtalk, calendar from my system/app folder on my rooted NST using root explorer.
Not sure if it is related, but, unable to install any app now from the app market. I use app-brain app market for downloading apps.
I'm able to find the apps, but on clicking on download, it doesn't get downloaded and instead says it is 'downloading' without any apparent change.
Is the problem related to the deletion of certain apks?
Note: haven't deleted any apk even associated with the word download/market.

Solved it. I Had uninstalled gtalk thinking it was unnecessary on the NST but it broke the market.
Installed gtalk and the market started working fine again.
You are sure you didn't uninstall anything?
What is the error btw? It takes you to the download page but the download doesn't begin?
Hi, i just got this in another thread
Try uninstalling Google Services using Titanium Backup, then open Hangouts/Maps - it'll reinstall off the Play Store.

What can I do, to get my phone working proberly again?
I really hope you guys can help!
I cant remember the exatct name, but when I deleted it, it asked me if I want to remove that apk. Is it possible to install just an apk, in order to get my phone working, or do I have to flash standard rom and so on?
Hello,
currently I am having a Galaxy S4 i9500 with the original chinese Android 4.2.2, which has been rooted. I've been trying to install the Google Playstore and been looking a long time on the internet to do so. When installing these Apps, I use the Root Explorer to put these files into system/apps, changing the permission to match the other apps (rw-r-r) and then i just reboot.
First of all i got myself the google login manager, google services Framework and of course the playstore itself. The Playstore works and the accountmanager aswell, i get to log into my google account and i can open up the playstore now, which previously always instantly closed, but now it says connection error, as the installation of the google services framework fails. I tried several files from different sites. And if the installation succeds google framework keeps on crashing. Also tried clearing cache, but pretty much senseless as it never worked and I never had it before on my Phone. So I also copied a working version of the framework from my old Galaxy S2 onto my S4, but still does not work. But until now i didn't get the framework to work on my Phone.
Do you have any idea how to get a working file? Or am I just installing it the wrong way? Are more files needed for installation of it? Thing is, if possible I would really like to keep my stock rom and not having to install a custom one. I was just wondering, how so many people got the playstore to work on their chinaphone with the tutorials given, but it just woen't work on mine..
Thank you for your help!
