Online theme generator for Oxygen ROM - Desire Themes and Apps

Over the past few days I play with a bash script to generate icons for battery percentage. Today I did and php interface so that now it can be used by others.
After completing the required fields and click "Submit" you'll get a flashable zip file with your icons in it. Download and flash through recovery.
Everything is in early Alpha version

P.S.: I'm not familiar with php at all. I prefer linux command line scripting ;-) If somebody find any mistakes or have any suggestion, please, let me know.

signing zips is in the forum somewhere, basicaly it looks like this:
java -Xmx999m -jar signapk.jar -w testkey.x509.pem testkey.pk8 unsigned.zip signed.zip
but signing zips is not required, because you allways can disable verification in recovery.

Tested! And works like a charm

Cool, I like it
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App

Moving forward ;-) Added option for easy selection of colors and icons, and a selection of notification icons. Directly generate signed flashable zip file. Download, reboot in recovery and flash.

I have to edit services.jar, to enable transparency. This is what I prefer to not touch at the moment. May be some day, but I'm not sure.

I just add an option for generating icons without numbers.

this tool is great! i'll test it some more, it was just what i was looking for
thanks!

Added support for Oxygen test build (latest.zip) with md5sum: 70ed9effb1ee58fd7569050d85b0dc1a

This is great! Hoping you'll add even more options because this is something I'm gonna be using a whole lot!

Latest test build with md5sum: bf165883d750e9a0f5bae86ff83974a1 is shown like "Mod version: Oxygen-2.0.2" in About phone menu. Maybe 2.0.2 is almost here ;-)
The generator is tested and working fine with it.

can anybody use these?

i found these high res icons on deviantart. they look freaking awesum but i have no idea how to place them on my hero to replace the default icons. anybody have a clue how to do it or maybe you can use them.
http://bharathp666.deviantart.com/art/Android-Icon-Templates-150559012
heres the zip of them too. i dunno if someone can make these so we can flash them or maybe make an apk file?
they are the 2.1 icons. if you go into the market and search android 2.1 you will find the icon pack. only hitch is you have to have bettercut to use them
I would like to see a rom cooked with these icons though as I like them better than the stock 1.5

gbhil's 1.6 AOSP ROM has them cooked in BTW... couldn't you just open the PSD files in Photoshop, save them as .png (or w/e they have to be), then add them in following the tutorial for skinning Fresh 1.1?

well according to this thread: http://forum.androidcentral.com/wallpapers-ringtones-themes/5231-icon-packs.html you can use that zip file and flash it like any other add on. i tried and got an error about google signing missing or something? i just wondered if anybody could look into it and maybe make something we can flash or even an apk we can install on our hero's? i really don't want a homescreen replacement as ive tried panda and didn't like it. i just want to change the icons up.
sorry guys im not trying to be a pain but like others i have my hero set up like i want but the only missing thing is changing the icons up. id try to make an apk or zip i can flash but i have no clue where to start and probably don't have time tonight to do it. the funny thing is in that link i posted "where i got the zip from" he says you can flash this but when i tried i got an error half way through.
plus the fact im new to the hero and im still learning this stuff.

If it needs to be signed, I'm pretty sure you can do that in Flipz's pre-kitchen. Once I finish my homework (high school ) I'll see if I can sign the .zip and then I'll upload it.

jus signing the zip isnt going to do anything as it is just an image file. for it to actually change the icons you would have to go into framwork-res on the rom you are useing change the icon pngs inside the correct apk. then add an update script and zip and sign it.

Apk files have respective odexes that devs use to supposedly save space.
Deodexing means you convert it back to a .dex file and put it back inside the apk.
This allows you to easily replace files (not having to worry about odexes), but the main point was to deodex services.jar so that you can change all text to different colors (such as the clock color to white) and to deodex services.jar, you need to deodex everything.
I'll upload what I have after elclassico

you might want to delete Email.apk and MobilePrint.apk first because these two were the ones that I deodexed ignoring the errors. (lotsa errors with Email.apk. be wary of that one )
most of the errors in these two files were related to some awt libraries that are missing. I think (or hope) that they used these libraries only for debugging, so it shouldn't crash theoretically.
lemme know if it works guys ! can't wait for my phone to arrive

the logcat doesn't look good at all. I think I'll wait until samsung releases the proper sources for our phone before I make another attempt. This was all built with the korean sources and the error it throws now doesn't help much.

ok, I'm a little restless and tenacious... i was able through some hoops and jumps to get a libwebcore with samsung's korean sources that matches the size of the one in your phone exactly (basically the build config of crespo.. should match the sII's except for the target_board_platform). I've not applied any arabic patches to it yet. just please try it and see if it at least runs ? (if it does, we have a winner !! )

[Request] How to remove recent apps from status bar

Hi devs,
I want to remove recent apps from the status bar.
The SystemUI.apk is from Hintay's HTX Mod 0.59.1|Android 2.3.3
I browsed all the forum and tried all these methods but didn't work on 2.3.3.
The methods I tried as below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1018818
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1225558
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15417961&postcount=107
I upload the SystemUI.apk and hope devs would be kind to teach me or help me to remove recent apps from the status bar.
Great thanks to you all !
Much appreciated !
There are two ways, one easy and one hard. In the hard one you kind of remove all the functionality of the recent apps section. In the easy one you just adjust the height to 0, so It's not visible. I only know the easy one do you know how to decompile apps? If not take a look in my guide ;-)
Then you can probably just do as the guides says or something. I haven't seen through them yet ;-) else go to res/ layout/ status bar expanded and find the line which includes recent apps or something similar. Change layout_height to 0.0dp ;-)
Edit: took a look at the guides. They are a bit more work, but you should use one of them instead, as they remove the whole thing so it will probably improve performance a bit more
Sent from my Hero using XDA
Thank you Habarug!
The purpose i want to remove the recent apps is just as you said it will improve performance when pulling down the notification bar.
So only adjusting the height to 0 may not improve the performance and reduce the laggy. Just my guess.
I've tried these guides but don't work..
But when you tried the guides, did you decompile the systemui or did you just open it with 7zip or smthing? You cannot change any xmls or smalis or stuff like that unless you decompile it
yes, i use apktool to decompile the SystemUI.apk and Notepad++Portable to edit.
who can answer...
another and easiest way is just replace system.ui from SalsaSense 4.0
http://jieehd.qap.la/options/HtcSalsaStatusBar.zip
Thank you! Good idea!
but my purpose is to learn the methods, just be curious and interested in these things
It seems that just editing the status_bar.xml as I explained above might help a bit on the performance I have no idea about the smali edits, I cannot change smalis without guide

moding status bar

please how to mod a status bar in esiest way
while i have tried using app manager he is asking for adb what is adb
i have installed adb drivers but no response please do yhe needfull
Try uot kitchen, very easy.
Here the site -> http://uot.dakra.lt/
Click kitchen and mod everything you want. Go to the tab that you can upload your systemui.apk and framework-res.apk. Go to summary and submit your work. Click pickup and wait you file appears. Install through recovery. Done.
ADB means Android Debug Bridge. If you're using apk multi-tool or apk manager, it asks for adb. It's very confusing and you may have to set the PATH variable, maybe download the SDK and all that. Use Apktool. I use it all the time for decompiling apks and it's the best for me. You can find the links to download it and the guide here.

U have to replace icons, with original..and the resolution and format should be same..
Example: If the original icon resolution is 48x48 then u should change ur image resolution to 48x48 or near like 52x52 not 200x200 and if the original icon is like Wifi_on.PNG then u have to rename your icon in wifi_on.PNG and then just replace... clear???

[Theme Creating] How to edit third party apps using EMUI themes?

I found EMUI themes on the internet which changed the design of various third party apps like f.e. WhatsApp. So I know, I could just take the theme, and edit the com.whatsapp file in it, but there are not all design elements of the app included. So my question: How can I find out the name of every design element and file name to change the design of every part of each app?
This is huge process i think
I'd just need the name of the elements for this xml file and the rest of the file structure where the media files for icons are (with their name). How could other people do it then? Isn't there a way to easily find that out? ?
I guess you have to decompile the apps in question and look at their source code for the correct names for elements. Probably a bit time consuming process yes. But that's probably how they all do it.
Thanks, I decompiled WhatsApp.apk and am now trying to understand how this whole thing works... I still don't understand everything especially because of the theme.xml file which obviously only exists in the theme, but not in the decompiled WhatsApp.apk. But I'm going to try to find out everything by try and error

Does anyone know how to edit the chat bubbles in Whatsapp using the EMUI themes? I already tried to enter another color inside the theme.xml:
