Having searched all the forum HD2 android, i can not find a ROM like android 2.3+HTC System stuff but without sense.
The ideal is to enjoy the system 2.3.3 and the HTC's USB connection Menu.
Can anyone help me?
By USB stuff, do you mean HTC sync, cos no, there isn't, it requires HTC sense.
Yeah, it's not possible to have 2.3 and anything got to do with HTC (yet).

seems the only way is 2.3+myphoneExplorer to sync outlook.
Another problem is the usb tether in android 2.3 never works with my HD2.

Hello, I have a HTC Hero with Android 1.5 from factory, I've tested Bluetooth transfer and it doesn't work at all. Does any1 know if Bluetooth File Transfer works with Hero 2.1 ROM? I'm rooting my phone only to have BT working ... anyone use this application from market? Does it works? At first sight it's cool but can't do anything on my Hero and the dev won't respond.
Thank you!!
Yes it works really well on the HERO21 1.7 Rom
Also allows phonebook sync with my bluetooth unit
So I take it you mean this won't work at all on the stock ROMs?
I'm looking for a solution to get BT OBEX, particularly contacts and V-cards from either stock or MoDaCo 3.
nope only on 2.01 or 2.1 roms for Hero support OBEX. MCR3 is based on 1.5 and doesnt have obex support.

I can launch the program, find devices, do pairing stuff, others are able to find my Hero device, everything works fine. BUT, each time I try to connect with a device it gives me a service search error with a reason: "return false".
So I think it's something related with service search only, then the program will work correctly. NOTE - It works with Acer Liquid driven by Android 1.5
Thank you all

Yes, you are right, it's Android 1.6, sorry
However, doesn't work on HTC Tattoo (Android 1.6) too
I use BT intensively, shame on HTC!

The shame is on Google - they should've implemented more bluetooth profiles when Cupcake (1.5) was released.

Hi everyone!
i have my Hero for several weeks now. but i still don't know how the bluetooth works? i can turn it on, search for devices and connect with them.
but i dont see how i can send over a file???
anyone knows how that works??
Greatz
wes
PS: sorry for my english, i'm from the netherlands
Well i guess this will be a bit bummer for you. You can connect a BT headset, BUT file transfer is not working
The only way to get it working is to root phone and use a custom rom that supports BT. (Vanillain?)

It should be said that this is a limitation of Android 1.5 - it doesn't support bluetooth file transfer. Whilst there are some attempts to solve this problem, it should go away entirely once we get the official Android 2.1 update as this has better bluetooth support.

Dave

It's not the sort of update that you'll ever find on the Market - it's a complete new version of the OS (Android 2.1).
Not every phone is getting OS upgrades, but HTC have announced that Hero will be getting 2.1 and currently evidence seems to suggest it will be released some time in March.
If you keep an eye on these forums, you'll know pretty much instantly when 2.1 for Hero is available.

Dave
thanx!
hope it comes soon cause i want my BT to work!
will HTC make it's own 'sense' like the TF3D in the android system on the Hero?

Lets stay on topic
What do i need to get the HTC Syncronization with outlook working on a pure Android 2.1 without Sense?
I have a HTC HERO and don't want to miss this great feature when using the Vanilain-Rom, for example. Because it seems that other Sync-programs are not that ripely.
i think it is not issue just with HTC, I got X10 running on Android and I am also looking for some sort of solution ..
Please don't missunderstand me. With the official roms of HTC there is a syncronization software included. But there are some custom ROMs witch don't have this great app(s).
I'm searching for a apk or a Update.zip including the HTC syncronization software.
I'm not a dev or an expert, but i believe that there are some framework.res changes that have to be done for these apk's to work properly, and editing the framework isn't just that simple... if that was the case, I'm sure that most people would want the synchronization capability of a ROM with Sense in their own ROM's... and that hasn't happened for that reason...
Questions:
Can I use my HTC HD2 loaded with a different NAND ROM on the HTC SYNC Desktop Application to manage my files like iTunes?
If yes, anything that I should look out for, like bugs or something?
I can't seem to find any articles online on how to manage my mass storage device on my phone and how to edit it correctly.
P.S. Sorry if there already is a thread for this, didn't see one. Thank you to everyone on this site that has been really helpful. My new favorite site!
HTC sync only works with sense roms.
For non sense roms, such as cyanogenmod roms (cm7) you can use myphoneexplorer
I used this one, but it doesn't say sense but I am pretty sure that it does just looking at my wifes mytouch 3g that has sense.
Should it work for me?

Yes that ROM has Sense, So if samsamuel is correct(which he usually is then it should work.
Thank you, I will give it a try. I know its not the best thing out there but I am done with Double Twist and Easy Phone Tunes program.
even you can't use it to sync, you still need to install it as driver. otherwise, you can't tether with your phone using usb.
suggest me this kind of software please

MobileAction
MyPhoneExplorer
There's an App that syncs with itunes I forgot the name. Search on market
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App

Actually it does work with the Desire HD builds, but not the Gingerbread builds. You would need a rom with Sense to use HTC Sync.
