I'm running EB13 and I went to the camera app and checked for a firmware update within the settings, and it said it needed to be updated! Here are the details:
Registration Date: Nov 23, 2010
File Size: 0.58MB
Version: 10.10.15
Updated date: Mar 2, 2011
Language: English
Lower age limit: 4++
Takes about 3 minutes to download and install on a WiFi connection. A reboot is needed afterward.
NOTE: You must have the SamsungApps.apk installed still
Can someone give me a link to samsung apps.apk
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
Will this break the camera patches that were made? Or i guess i should say what does this change?
And heres the apk

Just wanted to chime in. I just tried this and I rebooted my phone. It didn't change a thing but it uploaded "camera firmware" app next to the camera app in my drawer. I clicked on it and it didn't do a thing. So I just uninstalled.
So no improvement in the pictures or videos as far as you can tell?
I updated the firmware, then it installed the firmware icon in my app drawer. I clicked it and it unpacked something which took a minute or so to finish then said a reboot was required. I clicked ok then it brought up a screen to uninstall it. I did and rebooted my phone. Didn't seem to do a thing to mine either. Low light lag is still there.
i might be dreaming,
but too me it seems like the manual focus is faster..
Well now my pictures aren't saving...

That should help you out, if you haven't seen it already. I may or may not hold off on the OTA because it may help with the Droid X rooting efforts. Chances are I'll get it though :-/
This is my first android phone so I'm just wondering...what's the procedure for an OTA update? Will the Droid X automatically prompt us when it becomes available or is there a manual action required?

automatic, so yes something will prompt you and if you don't click for it yourself in 3 minutes is the time frame i believe, it will automatically just do it. it will restart your phone after it downloads and then install and start up again.

This pertains to my interests. Please upload files so that I may have sexy time with them.
i suddenly noticed it today
Just as I posted, I noticed my screen came on. So I went to unlock my phone to see wtf was up and a notification box came up. I was dragging the unlock button simultaneously as this happened, and it disappeared. I really, really want to know what it said. I feel lucky for an update of some sort.
So what exactly does this look/do? I wanna see if mine updated or not lol

I guess the best part is an 'update all' button. though I didn't think that the froyo market worked on 2.1 but maybe i'm wrong..
If you think about it, none of the froyo market features really required the jit compiler or c2dm that froyo has so it should work on 2.1 easily

Because SamFirmware.com is not god. He is just a person who puts the firmware on his website after he found a new one. Maybe he's still asleep?

New one is when you access the market, it will download for you. Look at /system/app and your /data/app folder. The upgraded one is in your data foldef, btw.
Edit: It is still old because the new one was already in your data folder, and since the apps in the data folder are not affected by the flashing, it appears to be the new one.
P/S: The chicken rice was delicious, thank you!

Extended battery, but to complete the explanation, that was running ubuntu from the ext in the background, the auto backup of sdcard and titanium, recording 20 min of 720p video and taking 40 pictures at a concert, uploading files CONSTANTLY to the server, sending email, texting, editing files, flashing 4 updates, compressing and signing 4 300MB files, etc etc. Nowhere near "moderate use"
