hi i am confused btwn a nexus s and i9000 as to which one to buy. plx tell me which is the latest firmaware for the galaxy s i9000 (official) and what is the update procedure?
the official way to update is Samsung Kies, and i am not sure which is the official update now i think it is different from country to country, me being a Canadian, i have just used oden to flash JVQ 2.3.4,
2.3.4 JVQ is the newest one on kies (still bugged tho) and GB is probably the last update for SGS.
Hey Guys,
I've got a question:
I'm using Kyrillos 7.0 on my Galaxy 3 and want to patch it to an official Samsung Firmware which is working with kies to sell the phone.
Which Firmware should i use? can I patch it with odin?
Thanks for your answers
Nekromis
download an flash any firmware from samfirmware.com
all firmwares there support kies
This is a video tutorial I made on how to flash this stock official firmware to your SGS I9000. I am on Virgin in Sydney Australia. This is really just an update to return your SGS to stock official firmware, and also allows you to update to the official 2.3.3 release in Kies.
Hope it helps!
If a written tutorial is requested then I wrote one here: http://www.1337mods.com/general/how-to-flash-2-2-1-froyo-official-firmware-samsung-galaxy-s/
Hello, I can't update my 2.3.3 firmware via Kies.
My phone has: I9000XXJVO - baseband version.
What should I do to get 2.3.6 firmware ? thank you
You can only upgrade through kies for your area based on your ROM version.
If you want a newer version you are going to need to either flash a newer stock ROM through Odin or flash something like darky rom/cyanogenmod 7.
Here is a thread with instruction for latest firmwares: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881
Remember that you could end up trashing you phone and your warranty by doing this.

Hi
I want to downgrade my notes firmware to 2.3.5 KJ4 however when i had a look on samfirmware the oldest firmware in the UK was 2.3.6 KKA. I was wondering does the country even matter? I dont want to flash some random firmware and be screwed!
kind regards
It doesn't matter. You can flash any stock ROM.
