At random time the volume will be stuck at full blast even if I push the volume down button or go to the sounds settings page and turn it down there. It either mute or full blast. Ill be trying a factory restore later tonight after I back some game saves up and my pictures. Just wondering if anyone else has had this bug.
And I never unlocked or rooted so not sure what's up with this thing.
I have only had mine for a few hours and have had that happen to me too.. let me know if you figure it out

Reboot......
This was touched on in another post as well. Reboot fixed it for me and it has not returned since. Others in that thread had similar results.

I have rebooted and it still happens. I uninstalled all apps that wanted hardware control. Im hoping it was a bug with extended control. Ill keep test to figure it out. The last thing i want to do is return this thing.
I had this happen to me too. Havent' tried it this morning yet.
Same problem here. Had it happen minutes after booting for the first time. Rebooting "fixed" it temporarily but the problem returned. I can't pinpoint why it happens. It'll happens either when I play a movie, game or music. I hope this gets fixed fast! Very unacceptable!
Mine did it but after doing a simple restart i haven't had the problem since.
i uninstalled a few apps. it seemed at the time it was extended controls but last night it happened again. Stuck at full till i reboot.
I've seen it on an app by app basis and sporadically related to reboot events...
If it were a hardware issue, it wouldn't be varying from app to app... my money is on a software patch in the next few weeks/months.

Hey guys,
I randomly experienced this problem as well. Rebooting provided only a momentary fix.
The solution: factory reset.
Then problem has not presented itself since.

factory resets suck. Guess its time to back everything up and do it before I get to far into this. I noticed it only happens after i play videos. Its random and happens so rare. Idk if it worth losing all my game data over.
Happened to me one time, and i rebooted.
I have factory reset so many times after changing kernels (before the stock wifi and kernel files where out).
Has not happed since.
I had this problem on a regular basis in the first 2 weeks or so after buying. However, I havent seen it a single time in the last week or so... not once, in any app (which seemed to make a difference for me before).
I dont know if it had anything to do with the 3.0.1 update, app udates or a combination of everything, but mine seems to have resolved its issue on its own.
While the idea of app updates may not seem terribly impactful, a lot of them do run in the background to some degree and it’s my theory that one (or more) of them were calling upon, using or referencing the 3.0 hooks into the audio hardware, causing it to misbehave.
If that is true, then the following list of apps and updates should provide a testable, reproducible way to get rid of the volume issue... or at least it may be a shot for anyone trying to troubleshoot the problem. Obviously, Im not suggesting that anyone run out and download apps that they don’t have, but I would recommend uninstalling (at least for the duration of the test) apps that aren’t listed below (and removing widgets that aren’t used in this config).
Again, just my theory… for anyone frustrated enough to merit such a test…

Hey,
I pulled GenieWidget from a CM install, and it installed and loaded up fine on my vibrant. For some strange reason, it now doesnt load up any of the news stories. You can load up the news headline reader with the widget, but click on any story and it never loads, never ending loading screen.
Anyone else having issues w/ GenieWidget or the news reader?
Thanks!
Yeah I have similar issues and a lot of freezing & force closes. I usually go to the app in the menu to refresh rather than the widget because 9 times out of 10 the widget will get stuck loading. But if I go to the app it works 1/2 the time & updates the widget. For now I scrapped it mainly because it made my phone boot super slow and most of the time it was just "loading".
Thats very similar to what I am getting, but I dont know what app to use instead. I loved the News and Weather widget
Mine loads the app fine, but has MAJOR issues loading the articles. It either takes forever to load the article (~20-30 seconds) or it just loads forever and never pulls up the article.
Tried uninstall\reinstall, cleared cache for the app, enabled all locations settings, all w/o any luck.
Restoring back to yesterday using ROM manager seemed to fix the issue temporarily, but it came back fairly quickly.
Anyone else w/ experience or a suggestion?
THanks
Yeah I have the same problem too. That screen seems to be universal so it might be related to something else.
I've already master reset my phone, and the issue persists, so don't bother posting that as a solution.
There has been an issue going on for weeks where media playback stops working. Nothing plays, not even YouTube or media via the Flash Player. The YouTube player just says touch to try again. The Flash and Media Players error out saying the format isn't supported.
Not even the Camera or Video recorders work (gives a generic error message). The only way to get it to work is to power the phone down and back up, until it works again.
Dunno what the issue is. Is anyone having the same issues?
Stock 2.2 KB5 never modded phone with the stock SD card and the only 3rd party apps I have installed are the obvious ones (Twitter, Facebook, Engadget, XDA App, Google Apps, Beautiful Widgets, etc.). Prolly have < a page of 3rd party apps installed.
N8ter,
I was having a similar issue with YouTube and Pandora. After a certain time neither would work, Youtube would give the error message to touch again, and Pandora (or any other music player) would pull up the song it was about to play, then skip it and go to the next one, and on and on. The issue wouldn't go away until I restarted my phone.
Unfortunately I couldn't find a fix for it. I tried clearing the data, cache, etc. with no luck. I have a hunch that it might have to do with an app or a program the runs data in the background or with data itself, switching between wifi and data, or with flash. Of course I could be way off too, who knows.
Right now I'm running Bionix NextGen 1 ROM with Overstock kernel and so far the issue has not come up. Keeping my fingers crossed, and hope our fellow xda'ers have a solution to this problem.
I'm wondering if the OS is shutting down a needed service or something in the background. It's been happening since before KB5 update, but I haven't noticed it being so bad until recently because I put all my music on the Vibrant and it happens when playing audio files as well...
Oddly, ringtones and notification tones still function.
Hi N8ter, DO you have the twitter app installed? I ask this because my sister was having the same issue a couple of weeks ago (we both have vibrants running bionix 1.3.1 ) i really didnt know what was going on so I kind of ignored her issue. It was not until I created a twitter account and downloaded the twitter app that I started having the same problem. I removed the twitter app from both our phones and we havent had the issue for weeks now.
Its odd i know but it worked for me...
You know what, I have been having the same problem, and yes, I do have the Twitter app installed. I hope that is it (I'll try to report back here after a few days, but due to the sporadic nature of the problem, I won't be able to know whether that works). thank you for the suggestion.
I can't really believe that the twitter app might be the problem, but it has been 24 hours without the twitter app and I havent had to restart because my media files/you tube are unrecognizable. I read it somewhere else on xda. I will follow up if it seems that twitter is not the problem.

Yep. I just went to the T-Mobile site and found:
http://forums.t-mobile.com/t5/Samsung-Vibrant/vibrant-file-glitch/td-p/760507/page/2
I just removed the Twitter app and reinstalled Seesmic for Twitter access (not big loss, it's not like Twitter had C2DM support and the phone natively syncs contacts and pictures anyways...).
I'll see how it goes.
Thanks guys... I never had media on my Vibrant until recently (the HD7's external speakers make the Vibrant sound like a Surround Sound system - don't even need headsets for this phone!) and the issue was starting to make me want to beat a baby...
Thank you so much everyone. xda ftw!
Hi,
I don't know how to call it but the bar on the bottom
with the BACK / HOME / HISTORY ......... TIME etc...
let say notification bar.
well somehow since today... I got a weird bug and don't know why or what could cause this, my tablet is not rooted or modified.
Bug description
The Time, Wifi meter etc... are stuck or frozen but I can still control the touch and go settings etc...
I have to restart the tablet to get my indicator right and the time as well...
anyone got a clue ?
I hope that "bug" will go away with the soon upgrade of honeycomb.
I reset to factory and the problem was gone, now it's back...
what kind of application can do this
-- here a picture of the problem --
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
the problem go away after restart the tablet... but will back in matter of time.
Have you installed anything since the factory reset? I personally have not seen this. Also what version are you running?

maybe your time widget uses another time zone? diffetent from system?
- after factory reset
I reinstalled
Angry bird
Angry bird season
Angry bird rio
Fruit Ninja THD
Alchemy
PicSay Pro
Facebook for android
FlashPlayer 10.3
Gemini App Manager
Google Maps
Google Sky Map
GunBros
File Manager HD
TSwipe-Pro keyboard (needed as I need a thai keyboard, even if xt9 have thai)
Translate
Dungeon Defender
GuerrillaBob (not installed first time)
BangBang Racing (not installed first time)
before factory reset
I had more than this on the tablet because in thailand when you buy they push install a tons of application... legit or not (not my call)
Android Version : 3.0.1
Kernel version : 2.6.36.3
Build number : Acer_A500_1.139.04_COM_GEN1
I do think that is one of the "weird" bug of honeycomb pre-3.1
by the way
the status indicator are frozen but not the bar, I can touch it and popup it. but nothing will be updated, battery level is not updated, wifi status is not updated.
@Glebaka : nope the widget do not use another time zone since I have 2 tablet and 2 phone from acer using this same clock and all the four have the same time.
by the way the bug just appear on the second tablet but this one is not reset factory at all....
I wait the update 3.1 and will see if that fix the problem.
Same Problem
Hi
I have same problem on my both device
HTC One X+ and Nexus 7...
both running JB 4.1.2
Also I change different ROM problem don't go away....???
It could be some app
I am working on it to find out which app doing it....but no luck until now...?
Hi all,
So I've had my Nexus 6p for about 3 months now (since joining Project FI) and I can't say I've been overly impressed with this phone. The battery life is nothing special, speed and performance is below average and the amount of times my whatsapp crashes is infuriating.
However suddenly today afternoon my Facebook app has just decided to no longer work. I'll open the app and two seconds later I'm back to the home screen.
I've tried the following:
- Clearing the cache and the data from the App settings.
- Clearing the cache from Recovery mode.
- Factory reset.
- After each of the previous steps, I've uninstalled and re-installed the Facebook app.
Any other recommendations to try out before I ask for a replacement phone?
Thanks in advance.
Just to update. The app only crashes when I'm trying to load my news feed. If I go on my profile or open a notification, that loads fine.
Wait for an update, until then, use an older version. If the update/older version isn't solving the problem, then use the browser Facebook. :/

Thanks for that. Dumb question but how can I install a specific older version?
I am also having the same problem on my Nexus 5x.
Issue Resolved
A new version of Facebook came out today and I now no longer have the issue. Seems like the patch prior to this caused an issue.

I just downloaded the latest patch today and it got resolved.
Recently I am having notification delays with my S7 Edge G935F. I have read through some posts on this forum and other sources and can't figure it out.
Here are some of the problems:
1. notifications are often delayed for more than thirty minutes
2. if I want to manually check notification when it does not pop up, unlocking the screen does not make the notification show, I have to actually launch the specific app to see the notification
3. It is more than just not showing the notification, when I am using some instant messaging apps (like WeChat), I can't see new messages coming in while the app is running in the front. I have to press the home button and get back to home screen, then re-enter the app, then the messages show up. This happens to many other apps as well.
4. Other things go wrong as well. For example, my Android Auto was set to launch whenever I get into my car and car bluetooth is connected. It is also delayed, by more than hours. It often launches long after I finish my driving and get back home sitting on my couch.
5. Downloading new apps from Play Store has problems as well. It downloads to 100% and just stops there, it does not start installation. I have to use Settings->App to kill Play Store and re-open it to "refresh" it, then it starts to install.
6. After installation of new app, it does not show up on my screen or app draw inside my launcher. I can see the app installed in Play Store. I have to kill launcher and re-open the launcher to make it "refresh" the app list then I can see new app inside the app draw.
I have also tried a lot of ways to fix it:
1. change app to not battery optimized -> didn't fix it
2. update firmware -> didn't fix it
3. factory reset -> works for the first day then it goes wrong again
4. flash to a different firmware (official ROM in different regions) -> works for the first day then it goes wrong again
5. use third-party ROM (Lineage OS) -> completely fix the problem, but too buggy to use
I can see the general idea of what's going wrong, some events happened (connected to car Bluetooth, new messages coming, app finished downloading, new app installed, etc.) and the system is not responding correctly. I am not very familiar with Android development but I feel like something is wrong with the "event handling" or "event raising" inside Samsung's Android system.
Please post reply if you have any idea or are facing the similar problems.
EDIT:
The phone is on Android 7.0, Build Number NRD90M.G935FXXU1DQER
You've stated that flashing the custom ROM solved the problem, so maybe you should try flashing a different rom that's a bit more stable.
From personal experience i can recommend the SuperStock rom. It's stock (obviously) and it's debloated and very stable with pretty good battery life as far as i remember.
there is some info about it here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/want-to-root-custom-one-stay-stock-t3631098?styleid=18 (ignore the root part).
Hi,
did you find any solution to this problem ? cause i got the same problem, and i'm going crazy... few months already and can't figure out what is the problem...
the temporary fix i've found is disabling the "google app" in application manager... it fix the problem but i can't use any Google app features (and i like using them...).
I've found few ppl experiencing the same problem searching on internet but no one with a real fix...
if someone more experienced can help debut this it would really mean a lot...
I think it is the battery optimization setting. You may check the settings>battery>advanced settings>optimize apps. You need to keep the apps un-optimized if you want the notifications and sync.
Also, you may check if Sync is on or off.
If these two does not solve, factory reset if you are on stock ROM. If on a custom ROM, you may check a different ROM
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Actually none of this works... The only thing that "fixes" the issue is disabling the Google app in the application manager... That's why its so weird...
The problem started around July/August 2017 for me...
As i discovered that disabling Google was fixing the problem, i assumed that they'll correct it by updating the app... But only one update of the app was ok, all others would make the problems reappear...
Messing with battery optimization settings doesn't change anything for me... Factory reset as well... The problem comes back as soon as the google app gets updated...
Try clearing cache and deleting data from the Google app the time the problem occurs
already tried... doesn't help at all...
