Hi everyone... i have samsung galaxy S I9000 base rom JVP 2.3.4 and CWM recovery 3... its rooted can anyone suggest me how to gain maximum battery and phone performance ...
which is the best Overclocking app
and wat are the frequecy to be set
please advice me how to gain maximum phone performance and battery performance...
Thanks in advance
wondering the same thing.
could any one give detailed instruction?
maybe u should try a based rom (JVQ or JVR) and a kernel (like galaxian EE or semaphore ) + JVR modem
Use odexed JVR on latest galaxian kernel, there are good odex themes (I use EE SP1 clocked to 1.1ghz via tegrak. This is a minor OC but voltage at 1.1 is lower than standard 1.0 ghz!) remove all the crap bloatware (I remove loads of stuff and all samsung apps using sgs chlorine) use zeam launcher (fast, lightweight). Use setcpu for screen off profiles and also juice defender.finally, convert to ext4 then back again to rfs to clean file systems. Then calibrate battery, use noop scheduler. This will give you a very fast phone with great battery life

thanks a lot dude let me try will hope this works fine
gsw5700 thanks for the sugession ... but i am confused wen i check for this kernel .... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196391
it says flash it if u have ODEXED JVR ROMS only!!! but my rom is JVP
please let me know how to go further and also let me know is the camera application is stock galaxy or hacked camera
thanks in advance
Flash odexed JVR, then you can flash this theme (that I use). Then flash chainfire 4.1 kernel to get root, then flash latest galaxian kernel. Use setcpu and juice defender to get good battery savings
Don't forget to hard reset/wipe after flashing jvr, tick to re partition, wipe both caches and fix permissions after flashing galaxian

thanks dude i have followed the procedure... let me check the performence
it gave me 16 hours of battery life .. and performance was stable

Why not just stay on ext4?
RFS will defragment after a while (depending in usage), I like to defrag file systems every month or so. I haven't actually tested it, but hope it will provide additional benefit. I also like to use it for a while whilst on ext4 to prove that ext4 doesn't feel any faster at all than rfs!!

I also suggest Galaxian. It's pretty neat.
So how long battery life do u guys get on undervolted galaxian?
Im on JVR w/ talon kernel OC'd to 1.2 and UV'd and i barely get 2 days of little use.

Because some kernels don't need any lagfix actived
It's not about fixing lag, that is just terribly outdated but traditional terminology.
RFS isn't slower than ext4, but the letter is still the better filesystem by it's journaling and fragmentation behavior.
In a nutshell: you don't have to convert to ext4 to have a smoother device, but you might still want to do so if you want a better file system running your device.

I get about one day of medium to heavy use and a day and a half if I don't do much. I lose about 2-3% battery over night (using juice defender)

and how much battery time do you get with that setup?
Fresh installation of GDX v17 from original 2.1.1 have no OC states (MHz) in Settings/"Cyanogen"/"Performance"/CPU. Are there any acurate method to install some mod that gives abilities to choose clock setting? MiniDX6 1.02 had about 6 choices for min and max CPU MHz...
OC
If you're using Stock SE Kernel, copy X8oc.ko to system/lib/modules, check permissions, and reboot.
if you want to use LinuxDX, DX already said it won't upload module onto the Kernel, so if you want OC that bad, look for a differente combo (Kernel/ROM)

I am very sorry to inform you that Repensis Kernel doesn't support overclocking. If you want an overclock kernel, try Merruk Technology Kernel V2.5. Else, flash Savie's Kernel and overclock it the way you did so. Merruk kernel v2.5 is already overclock to 1.2 GHz. You don't need to flash overclock zip again. But Savie kernel is not yet overclock. You need to flash the overclock zip file to overclock it to 900MHz. Only Stock kernel, merruk kernel and savie kernel supports overclocking till date of all the available kernels for Galaxy Y. Always keep in mind that overclocking drains the battery and heats up the phone which can cause damage to your handset. Just reflash Repensis Rom v3.5 via Clockwork Mode Recovery or via Stock Recovery.
Hit thanks if I helped you.

Flash repencis kernel(i use old,from repencis v3.5 rom not new) and install no frills cpu control from google play and you see frequency(312,624,832) also governors and io scheduler and set what frequency you want.I use min 312 and max 624 governor ondemand,io scheduler sio.After my opinion these settings are good because battery not drain fast and performance are good.But if i play gsmes like angry birds i set to min 832 max 832 governor performance and io scheduler vr.

My dear, do you really know what overclocking means? Our CPU is meant to run at the max frequency of 832 MHz and min frequency of 312Mhz. If you want it to run at frequencies higher than 832MHz, you have to overclock the cpu. If you can make your cpu run at frequencies higher than 832 Mhz then it means you have overclocked your cpu and your kernel supports overclocking.I have tried to overclock repensis v3.5 kernel before, and I was stuck at Samsung Galaxy Y screen and the phone didn't boot up thereby indicating that the kernel doesn't support overclocking and hence the cpu cannot be overclock. In short, overclocking a cpu means to make the cpu run at frequencies higher than its permissible max frequency as set my the manufacturer. Better do a little research before posting.

Tegrak NOT works with some kernels. For example, it doesn't works with CM kernel or any STOCK kernel. I'm using it, and I'm using HydraCore kernel. Be careful when you Overclock/Undervolt your CPU or GPU. If you reduce the voltages too much, the note will freeze.
Just to warn....
edit: i just saw the title is "on xxlsa and xxlsc". I didn't know it works with stock (or Philz) JB kernels. Could someone confirm that? Thanks
Overclocking-Undervolting is to do with care. I knew Tegrak 1 year ago... I've uninstalled it, because of easy unstability if not the correct values applied. We must read something about this before apply any value!
The best way, INMHO, to overclock, is to flash a Notecore or Hydracore OC Kernel, whose values has been adapted by developer to our Notes. And use CPU Master or SetCpu to create profiles.
To play with "volting" is an adventure...
Tegrak works on stock (philz) JB kernels. Stock vídeo player dont work if you use Tegrak. Its the only issue i have found.

I don't know the reason for your crash, but maybe you undervolted too much (or your cpu simply doesn't support the OC until 1.6).
I can give you the oc/uv values i'm using everyday (all perfect, no freezes or anything else). You can try these:
(my note has cpu group B and i'm using the hydracore 7.5 maxfu, but i guess those values are okay for almost every note with cpu group b and them don't depend from the kernel you're using)
[CPU]
1400 = 1225mV
1200 = 1150mV
1000 = 1050mV
800 = 1000mV
500 = 925mV
200 = 900mV
100 = 900mV
[GPU]
400 = 1000mV (i'm using this gpu overclock since few days, but it seems to be stable enough)
267 = 900mV
160 = 850mV
[SCHEDULER]
cfq (it was "noop", but i wanted to try this "cfq")
[GOVERNOR]
pegasusq
Everything with "set on boot" ON
Temperatures are ok, even with OC on cpu and gpu. (I remember you i'm using asylumPhoenix rom)
Maybe it will not solve your issue, but you can try

How to:
How to enable Swap?
To enable Swap, you'll need to create a swap partition on you External SD card. I recommend following this guide for it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/SD_card_partitioning
1. Make sure to backup everything from your SD Card first
2. Do not reformat your SD Card while it's still in your phone, take it out and plug it to your computer through a card reader!
3. I recommend that you only create a Swap Partition around 256MB
4. Follow that guide and when you reach to Step 3, select the option "Linux Swap"
5. When you finished following that guide, plug in your SD Card to your phone and Reboot to Recovery
6. Then flash this zip Enable Swap
7. Reboot your phone and you should be good.
8. To make sure Swap is enable, go to Terminal Emulator and type "free".
9. You should see some info at the bottom about Swap.
How to Enable Zram?
To enable Zram, go to (Settings -> Performance -> Memory management.)
Or Flash this zip Enable Zram
How to use the OC'd Steps?
To use the OC'd Steps, use Nstools or CM Performance Settings (Settings -> Performance -> Processor -> Maximum CPU frequency.)
If the chosen Frequency setting is not sticking with Nstools or CM Performance Settings, try using CPU Control Lite or Voltage Control.
I flashed the "s" version and now 720p recording or playback is not working?
You'll need to flash HugeMem Libs first and then you should have your 720p recording or playback working again.
How to get rid of the Green Screen Flash and get the best colour if using VC version?
To get rid of it, I recommend using the following Voodoo Color Settings. To change them, use Voodoo Sound app (Available from the market).
Color profiles
Voodoo profile v1
Screen RGB multipliers
Red: 286xxxxxxx
Green: 333xxxxxxx
Blue: 392xxxxxxx
Screen v1 gamma hack
*Reset to 2.3.3 Then Change*
Red: -26
Green: -30
Blue: -33
Or use this gamma hack (Might get the green screen flash but with a better looking colour, thanks to aduka)
Red: -40
Green: -40
Blue: -31
*If you're still getting the green screen flash, increase the "Screen v1 gamma hack" by +4 for the red, green and blue till you stop getting the green screen flash*

By default I've increased the voltage for the 1200MHz step to 1350 mV to make sure it's stable for everyone else as not every phone is same. But once your phone is stable at 1200MHz, you can undervolt the voltage until you find a sweet spot.
Like on my phone, I was able to undervolt the 1200MHz to 1275 mV.

Do you suggest any changes to voltages if running this at 1200?

I UV by 50 with this kernel and devil kernel the same. Stable enough for me
Also. Nick0703. Sorry for posting in Stratosk thread regarding your kernel.
I was wondering how to make the 1200mhz stick. I tried through settings and then tried with nstools. No go on reboot.

Did you try saving the settings with NsTools?

I'll upload my NsTools settings and you can try that. I'll do it like in an hour. As right now I have some other stuff to do.
Edit: Check your PM.

Hey Nick0703 would you be able to get screen off min 100mhz max 400mhz settings into the kernel or is it not really needed? I guess it sits at 100Mhz idle. Also, are you able to deep idle? BTW 1200 is optional but it wont stick on reboot still. Your settings disabled nstools to default.
Re: [KERNEL] Unofficial Semaphore JB 2.9.8.c
Try cpu control lite or voltage control if the settings do not stick.

I could add the screen off min 100mhz - max 400mhz to the kernel but I don't think you'll see any difference from it. But I compile a test version with that option and see if there is any difference. And yes, I'm able to deep idle. Deep idle works fine with my phone but keep in mind that not all the captivates are the same.
And for the 1200MHz, try using CPU Control Lite or Voltage Control just like sephhi stated.
Thanks guys. Good looking app but it didn't work. Not sure why. Always able to set to 1200 on devil kernel 4.1.2
Re: [KERNEL] Unofficial Semaphore JB 2.9.8.c
Version 2.9.9sc has been compiled. But it will need to go through testing first as the kernel configuration file had some few changes.
I'll need 2 people to test it. If anyone is interested, send me a PM.

Great stuff Nick! Zram and 1200 smooth as butter! I'm too lazy to make a swap partition. LOL!

Thanks man! And lol making a swap partition won't take you more than 5 mins.

Perfect. Got it to stick 1200mhz! What boot loaders do you use Nick0703? I'm wondering if i9000 loaders would help with deep idle.
Would suck if it's just my phone.

Congrats man! And I'm using stock Rogers Gingerbread Bootloaders. You could give the I9000 Bootloaders a try but I wouldn't risk it if I were you.
