[Q] how to delete your info nand hd2? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

so i got mjd cyangamod 7 nand on my hd2 and i recently sold it because it was my second phone...ive been trying to delete my info and seem to got everything off i go into privacy and reset everything but in accounts/sync my email is still there and when i try to remove it it says to factory reset well ive done that a few times and its still showing up?
any help

Go in to MAGLDR, and select the option 'AD HardReset'. That should do the job.

You mean you want to completely remove android, or do you mean you want to remove all your data that was on android (emails, apps, messages, contacts, etc)? If it is the latter, then simply reflash the build. Hard reset in the settings won't solve your problem, as you've noticed. Or you could go into the email app, go to the settings and delete the accounts.

yeah i just want to remove all my data...would the hardreset work?

yes the MAGLDR AD hardreset will work. It will erase the phone's data, leaving only HSPL and MAGLDR. meaning it will remove android also

Yeah, if you go in to MAGLDR and do it. It doesn't work in Android, because it's not the HD2's native OS. There wouldn't be that feature of MAGLDR for no reason.
If that DOESN'T work, then most certainly re-flashing the ROM will work. But there's really no need.

but i would have to reflash anyway correct?, since it only leaves mag, and hspl

No. It just resets the NAND ROM. Doesn't over-write it or anything.

oh I assumed it would erase everything, oh okie, thanks for the info, and sorry about the misleading info.

hey thanks, i got into magdlr and did the reset then just booted into nand and it loaded back up new
how do i give you a thanks point?

No problem. Cotulla/DFT just wouldn't put that feature there for no reason.
But you're forgive, after all, you're Jamaican MON. hahaha. ;p

phone wont load past android flashing startup screen

God do I hate technology sometimes.
Phone was working perfectly, ages ago, I had updated it to JF 1.5, with apps2SD, and everything is working perfectly until today, I restart my phone (not the first time I have done this since last updating my phone), and for some reason it cant go beyond the android flashing screen. Just keeps going.
WTF do I do? I do not want to have to reflash my phone causing me to have to reinstall all my apps, etc. Just too much hassle, I hope it doesnt come to that.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I have tried removing the battery and putting it back, no difference. Maybe I didnt do it for long enough.
Any advice or help would be much appreciated.
wel I thought I may as well reflash with JF 1.5, and have done so, but the phone STILL won't go past the flashing android screen.
Dunno what to do now, I had thought this would definately do the trick.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Use the search bttom.... and WIPE the phone, Wipe the phone and problem solve...
i have almost same problem
except mine goes past android screen then screen goes blank but stays lit up
Don't wipe your phone. Try this first.

Figured i would update this with the knowledge i have gained. Erase the EXT2 / 3 partition then wipe. Load the ROM again and reboot. This should let it pass the boot loop. I had the problem this morning with Drizzy's Hero build and now with JAC's I am running tests with.

I had the same problem so I did what Krazyone suggested in one of the post. And it solved my problem. It's something to do with your EXT partition be corrupted or something.
EDIT: You will have to either reload your apps or restore them from your backup.
Same problem here & tried as you suggested...

[Q][SOLVED] Sd card problem

Hi all,
I have a problem with my sd card. It's not recognized by my HD2 WP7!
So I searched on xda forum and other forum, and I saw that I need to reformat my card with specific tools and specific options... OK for that.
My question is: Do I need to flash my phone again with the new SD card or is it possible to get it recognized by the phone without a new flash?
Thanks for your help

Did you have it in your phone the first time you turned on wp7? It needs to be in the phone when it first turns on and you go through the phone setup. WP7 uses it as internal memory, so you can't remove it while running wp7, either. You can go to settings and go to about (I think that's what it is), then reset your phone. It will ask for confirmation twice, then will do a factory reset... make sure the card is in when you do this.

Yes. But the first card didn't worked, the wifi was always disconnected... so I changed and the wifi worked correctly but the storage space of WP7 doesn't use my sd card space... So I bought a new one, formatted it correctly and tried to use it in my phone and the result is the same.
If I reset the phone, will I have to reinstall chevronwp7?
Thanks for your help!!!

Why would he have to reflash? resetting does the same thing... I've always been able to restart everything by resetting.
And yes, to op, I think you have to chevron unlock it again after resetting, because a reset sets everything back like you just flashed again. When you tried a different card, did you hard reset it?
aye, reflashing isnt needed unles your original Flash was corrupted somehow or your upgrading the ROM, just do a hard reset, hold VOl down and VOL up when powered off and tap the power button, follow instructions.
Hi all,
Yes I tried a hard reset but nothing changed, my phone was still configured as if I had'nt hard reset it...
I'll giv it another try today!
Thanks everybody for your help!

How did you hard reset it? I always just went to settings, then to "about" I think it was... where ever it is that shows you how much memory is on your phone. Then hit reset there. It will tell you that all data will be erased and will ask you to confirm twice. Did you do it that way? Make sure the card is in when you reset. It might be a good idea to format card in computer first too.

your post is incredibly void of details. please start with some basics (like what rom, what apps, etc.) take the guess work out of trying to help you.
often, reflashing the rom can help just to begin....

Well considering you expect us to use our physic powers (which nobody has) Ill try and guess your problem.
It sounds like you didnt properly install your new rom. When you install a new rom you need to a clean install to a extent, Either a FULL clean install, meaning you task29 (wipe) your nand and start over or you wipe data/factory reset and clean caches like dalvik cache in the advanced menu or CWM.
You will also need to full format your SD card with Panasonic SDFomatter (FULL>Overwite and size adjustment).
You dont need to lose any data like apps/games as you can back them up with Titanium Backup.
You need to do this otherwise data gets carried over to next installation which can cause issues.
If you want a more precise answer you need to at least give us information we can work on like..
SD or NAND???
Specific roms/builds???
Apps that dont work???
Did you do clean installs???

[Q] Super Easy question hopefully - Master reset

Hey guys,
Been running HyperDroidGBX-v12 for a couple months now, its just rock solid stable & the best rom ever. But I'm selling my HD2 now and I need to know how to wipe my info.
I tried a master reset and it does nothing, just restarts and takes me back to my homepage.
Whats the trick?
A link or an explanation would be great. Thanks!
if i was you, i'd task 29, install radio, magdlr, recovery then flash the ROM again.
Can be sure 100% everything is wiped and new owner will be left with android on, nice and fresh and fast etc, but with all personal info wiped.

Whats task 29? And flashing radio, magdlr, recovery and rom all over again? Isn't that A bit excessive?

how are you running the rom? if through clockwork thru magldr. go in clockwork and wipe dalvik cache and wipe cache to get it like when it first boots if you want to bring it back to factory like how its sold from the carrier than theres more instructions. if the latter is what you want ill point you in the right direction.
Thank you, I figured it out.

[Q] Delete Gmail Acc from 2.2.1 or update

Hi there,
I have a little problem. I wanted to present my sister my HD2 with Android 2.2.1 on it but can't delete my gmail account.
Everytime I try to reset the factory settings I only get a reboot, but it never resets it.
Is there any way to delete this gmail account? If not, how can I update my device on another build?
Would be nice, if someone could help me. My husband put this nand version on the device but he died in march and I have no clue what to do now
Hopefully someone can help.
I don't know if it's helpful but the core verion is:
2.6.32.15rafpigna_1.7_OC-g39281e5
Thanks in advance!
First of all my heartfelt sympathy!
You can wipe your phone (but keeping the OS) by rebooting the device and holding the power button pressed till you get a screen with AD SD and so on.
In this menu go down with VolDown button to AD SD and than press call button. Your phone will boot into another menu.
There is an option to to factory reset your phone. With this you delete all programs and personal data from your HD2.
Hallo icke!
Thank you, I will test it and let you know if it worked.
Edit: SD kernel open failed
