Hi to all our dear developers,
I have started this thread to ask who all are working on development of Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for ZTE Blade?
In case you need any support in testing the ROM, I would be more than happy to volunteer.
Best,
Yatin

the honeycomb sdk was compiled for arm v6, the ics sdk was compiled for arm v7. zte blades only have an arm v6 processor.
so, we need the source code so that it can be recompiled for our arm v6 phones. There's a little bit more to it than that, so don't expect ics for the blade on the same day as the source code is released, but we need the source code before we can start work on a blade version.
hopefully we'll get a working port of cm9 (which will be based on ics).

I do, but I think he's pretty busy. Last I heard there were still some big problems to fix, like audio.

once he's worked it out the source code for cm9 will be available, then you can use that.
using the aosp source code, once you have it booting there are still other problems to fix, like the touch screen, audio & ril.
everyone involved with cyanogenmod should be very busy fixing those problems, so it's best to leave them to it if you can't help them. they don't need to be bothered with questions.

Hello,
I got my evo 4g broken, then buy a ZTE Warp.
I am missing my Cyanogen rom.
Any chance Cyanogen include ZTE Warp ?
I had my ZTE Warp rooted by
http://androidforums.com/zte-warp/
then I installed Titanium Backup and restored all apps I had on my evo 4g.
So, ZTE Warp users have root and apps but no custom roms and recoveries yet.
Some devs are working in a recovery and is almost done:
http://androidforums.com/warp-all-things-root/455592-testers-wanted.html
Thanks
That's not quite how it usually works. You see the CyanogenMod developers probably don't own a ZTE Warp & they are all busy with their own devices.
If you have any decent developers with one of these devices then it shouldn't be a hard job for them to make an unofficial CyanogenMod port. Most ZTE phones share similarities, so the ZTE Blade port might be a good starting point. If they get that port working well, up to a standard that is acceptable to Cyanogen, then it may get accepted as an official CyanogenMod device & they could maintain CyanogenMod for that device.
Just rooted and CWM with one click on warp after update with Ultimate Warp Drive. Saw some custom roms on same page... ics, cm9 in android forums...

search for different forums there might be any unofficial port for ZTE warp.
BEST OF LUCK!!!!
The devs are doing their best to port cm9 but are having ril issues... there are alot roms out now.... I myself have made one and there are many others

Ok, so I can't flash Cyanogenmod to ZTE Blade 2... That means I don't buy my friend's ZTE for even toy
I think there's an unofficial Cyanogen port. It's different to the Blade though, faster cpu, different wifi & bluetooth, etc.
If you look on modaco in the ZTE Crescent section you can find some roms for it there. I don't think the port of CM7 was working too well yet, but it might have got better since I last looked. There is a CM9 port there as well.
Hey..Guys..
I rooted my Dell XCD 35 (ZTE Blade) and updated my ROM to Cyanogen mod 10.1..
Now the thing is even if i login to Google play with a new id and password..It still identifies my phone as ZTE Blade and is not allowing me to install the apps that needs Jelly Bean OS.
Thanks In Advance,
Amirth

OK Glass, publish this post
i've been looking exhaustively these laste two days and I have found not even a single ****...
So i've been looking on some wikis and crap and I decided to try to port CM12 (or 11, which i like the most and has less battery issues as I have heard) but:
1. I'm always (or almost always) busy
2.Classes are starting soon and I'll have to be constantly moving to the University (waste of time that I already don't have XD :silly
3. I'll need people to help me up
So what do you think about this?
This is not intended to be a quick project and I'll need as much help as I can get

That's what I want.
I know that MTK kernels are harder to modify, so I'll try to find anything, or learn how to do it by my own since I'm studying Software Engineering
Thank you guys. I'll keep it coming and hope to do it sooner than later

Also, I remember last year a guy named Aniruddha Adhikary who supposedly worked for Acer, leaked the mt6572 kernel, and I also do remeber thag I have saved it on my PC somewhere. Sadly, the github page of the kernel is a dud. My fears are that the kernel, if I find it, is going to be lackluster and incomplete as most MTK kernels leaked by OEM's are.

The thing is that this would be my very first attempt into Android developing... And I know it won't be easy. It would be great to have that kernel, even though it's not finished.
If it's not possible, i was wondering if a kernel from a similar phone with the same processor would be easier to port (for instance, ZTE BLADE which has way more development than our phone does).
Yeah. All we need is a point of start

Its nice to see that u have good will for CM,...good luck to all of u and if u one day decide to port any of CM for Q too,..i can test it.
@vtaufner
I present you some of my observation:
the simillar device with Zte Blade Q Maxi are ZTE Blade G Lux
ZTE Blade G Lux have the same specs: cpu and gpu and most important it have a kernel allready compiled for KK
but it dont want to boot on Blade Q maxi
i beleve guilty for this unboot is lk.bin files wich work like a bootloader and it block other kernel (even from simmilar device) to boot
ZTE Blade G Lux doesnt have lk.bin file included in stok rom.
other observation conected by lk.bin is:
kernel from ZTE Blade Q Maxi(wich are 2-3 variants) doesnt work properly with lk.bin from Orange Reyo( 1 example it doesnt read correct the battery level)
but all variants of Kernel(including Orange Reyo kernel) work good with lk.bin from ZTE Blade Q Maxi
Earlier i downloaded from ZTE sites the kernel source for ZTE Blade Q Maxi and i atached here
in the package you will find and some other files like boot.img and lk.bin from all ZTE Blade Q Maxi and Blade Glux
for the moment this all, if i remember somethig I will tell you
Ps. ZTE Blade have other specs, different cpu and gpu
That's weird.
Yesterday i was looking for some info about this... And read that blade q and blade q maxi are the same, but ours is bigger.
I also downloaded q maxi kernel yesterday, so i'll give a look at it and to ZTE g lux kernel soon.
Thanks @vaserbanix
