So for the last several days the hepatic feedback on my Streak has been on the fritz? It works , it doesnt work? Anyone else experience anything like this? Nothing really seems to cause it, or fix it. It just comes and goes on its own. Bopefully is not the vibrate motor going bye bye. Or worse yet....a software bug. Any suggestions?

I don't think any of the other threads I searched had this exact problem, so here it goes.
The haptic feedback vibration is SO weak on my Epic. Is that just how it is? Cause I tried my friends Vibrant and Galaxy S 4G Monday and their haptic stuff was real strong. Like its decent if a third party app uses haptic feedback like a keyboard app. But as far as going into settings putting vibration all the way up, then hitting the back button its really weak like you can barely feel it. It's been like that since day one. Eclair, Froyo, Bonsai, nothing changed it. I'm curious if I got a bad phone and should return it.
That's exactly how mine is.

Is anyone else having issues with their vibrating hardware on the Evo? Mine will work fine one minute then just stop working the next. I found giving it a nice slap fixes the problem temporarily!

Sounds like your vibrator went out from too much use!
Seriously though, I think the motor might be dying on you.
Yeah sounds like it could be going, especially if a 'slap / smack' kicks it back into working order for a bit.

Yeah, those things can wear out.
We're still talking about EVO's right??
Hello, basically I just got this phone and it seems like my vibraton/haptic feedback does not work anymore. At first I thought it was just the ROM ,salvage mod,I was running or the kernel but now I'm on an entirely different Sense based ROM and it is still not working. So now I am afraid it is a hardware problem. Can anyone help me out or is a new phone my only option?

First, let's confirm you have haptic feedback enabled. In a Sense ROM, it should be under Settings -> Sounds -> Vibrate Feedback.
If that's enabled, then you likely have hardware failure and yes, it will need to be replaced. That's why I ended up getting my first EVO replaced, in fact.
interesting. i have noticed from time to time haptic feedback stops responding but as of now its always come back. I am not sure what triggers it to stop and start but as time has gone has become just a minor annoyance.
The vibrator motor could be bad. Does it ever vibrate?

It has to be hardware I just realized I shook it for a minute and tapped the sides and it went on again. Then went off again. I have it working ATM but it is very light so just seems like the motor is bad

Mine stops working sometimes too, but I just smack the back of my phone and it works again

Yea sounds like there's a loose wire somewhere in there somehow. If you can get it to the store in it's non working condition I'm sure they'd replace it. Just remember to unroot first!!
oooo sounds interesting i drop my phone ALL the time so lose wires is probably the right answer for me lol
Without another unit to reference, I have to think something is up with my vibration motor. With haptic enabled on button press, I can't feel anything. I hear a very low, almost inaudible sound that could be the motor trying to work -- but I feel nothing.
How's your haptic response? Is it very pronounced or almost unnoticeable? I want to say I felt it much more during initial setup..
Also when switching the ringer from silent to vibrate, I do feel it (and hear it) but it sounds almost like a dying motor; very weak and unhealthy.
Am I off base here?

I've had my N4 for 3 days now and haptic response is as strong as it was at the start. I am constantly pleased by it since it was poor on my GNex! Vibration in silent mode is great as well so no unhealthy sound here. Sorry to be so happy with mine!

Yea, that's what I was afraid of.. going to try a restore (although I don't have much faith..) and see where that gets me. Short of that, guess I'm going to have to call Google for a RMA.
Sounds like a hardware issue.

Nah, man. Vibration comes and goes, its system-wide not just keyboard. I already have a replacement on the way.

sorry to hear mine was very low and thought it was a possible hardware issue, but discovered advanced options and cranked up the haptic and it works fine...sorry i couldn;t help!
This phone is amazing! I can't say enough good about it. I did find a bug that I wonder if anyone else has noticed.
I like to turn all animation off just for more speed. When you turn it off, transition animation comes back on after a little while. Maybe after being in deep sleep. Minor annoyance and it'll get fixed. Anyone else have this issue?
Yeah I read about this in another thread. It does seem to be a small bug. I believe they said in the other thread that the it kicks back in after u use camera.

Thanks Kevin,
Yep, I can confirm now. It's after using the camera when it happens. Thanks!
