Voicemail number unassigned - Omnia 7 General

Don't seem able to assigned a voicemail number. I go to Call Settings, click the button labelled unassigned , enter the number and click save, and the screen clears as if it's been done but it stills shows as unassigned. Have seen suggestions elsewhere that others have the same issue but not found any solutions - anybody else seen this and fixed it? Ta.

I have the same issue.
Any help to resolve this would be great.

For anyone else coming across this issue, I got a USB JIG and upgraded my phone firmware yesterday and hey presto I can assign the voicemail number now - must have been the old firmware causing the issue.

Maybe it was a carrier not allowing it to be done in their firmware. I had an unlocked but T Mobile branded phone and I could not do it either. Like you, I got the USB jig and reflashed the firmware so now my phone is both unlocked and unbranded and I could enter my voicemail number.

Yup you could be right, although another problem I had before was IE would forget my favourites - I'd save a few and then after a while it would forget them all except the default ones. So far since the firmware upgrade, none of my favourites have disappeared. Not exactly related issues I know, but still...

Caller id on T-Mobile Wing

Hi,
Unfortunately I am still using stock rom. May be little afraid to screw up the phone. Anyway till sometime back when somebody calls me I used to get caller id of the person calling. Now I dsplays "Incoming Call" and does not display the number. I tried to look into many settings but could not find anything. Please help to fix it or let me know any good contact application which I can install. Initially last year I installed photo contact application, but de-installed it due to some problem I was facing (I do not remember).
Regards
try installing a new dialer or changing some of the settings in settings/phone/services/caller ID
Follow up..
Hi fzzym,
Thanks for your reply. I tried to get information at settings/phone/services/caller ID but I am getting following error "Can not read setting from the network. Try viewing setting later, or disconnect data connection and Try again."
It is working for other setting but fails only for Caller ID. I am not sure what could be the issue and when it actual started. About 1 month back I got the phone unlocked. Can that cause this issue.
What other dialer you suggest me to install.
Regards
wierd. the unlock might be whats causing it. are you using tmobile or some other provider?
i'm personally using asergs' 2g touch dual dialer, but its notoriously hard to track down
Problem fixed by Hard reset of the Phone

[Q] Call Display Problems - Shows up as Pay Phone

Hey guys,
Have a US Beta AT&T unit running 1.6 on Rogers. My Caller ID/Display works fine with my sim in any other phone. On the Streak sometimes it will show up as "Pay phone" with no number showing. Sometimes the number will show up after in the call log, others it wont. Sometimes the call display works perfectly fine.
For example I tried calling my Streak 5 times from my home landline, 3 times the Call Display function worked as it should, 2 times it showed "Pay phone".
Could this be a setting problem? I have done a factory reset and it did not help at all. I have tried searching and have not come across any solutions yet. Any help would be much appreciated
I had this problem before too... LOL Pretty funny cause it was my wife calling my on her cell phone and she was standing right in front of me when it happened.
1) Check your contact folder and clean it up. I noticed my contact had people from all over the place that I only emailed in the past.
If that doesn't fix it,
2) I installed FacebookSync so anyone on my contact list can have the right info with pictures.
Doesn't happen to me anymore.
I tried facebooksync which didn't hep. Did a few factory resets and even wiped all contacts. Nothing helped.
Upgraded to Android 2.1 and the problem instantly disappeared

resending ALL sms'es in the sms in- and outbox after reboot

Hi,
A colleague of mine just bought a Desire HD but is running into some trouble after installing some golf GPS software yesterday. I'm not sure which ones he uses, but he told me his gps software crashed, and he had to reboot his phone because the 'sync' icon was stuck in the status bar.
After the reboot, all received and sent sms'es on his phone were resent to the original recepients.
When he tried to call me from the number in his contact list to explain the problem, the phone dialed a completely different number?
Another thing he showed me already a few days ago: every phone call he makes or receives, automatically gets an entry in his contact list (with the SIM card icon). No idea how this happens?
I suspect only a hard reset might solve these problems? Or does anyone else here have any idea what's causing this?
Firstly you don't really need to install any GPS software, htc's own software comes preinstalled.
& i've had the resending messages problem a few times but after the latest OTA update it hasn't happened at all

Multiple issues, I just tried updating. help?

So I've been using (T-Mobile) D80120a for a long time and was having some issues with it so I thought I'd try upgrading since latest version is D80120g. I was hoping it would fix some of them.
My issues:
1. If my phone was on vibrate, it sometimes would act like silent mode, not even vibrating when I would get a text.
2. Bluetooth (music) in my new car will sometimes pause, then fast forward to catch up. Not sure if this is my car or phone's issue.
3. Worst of all, my phone turns itself off without notice. Sometimes multiple times in a short amount of time. No sound, no vibration, nothing. Never while using it or charging but sometimes when I haven't even touched it...
4. Some apps randomly tell me my phone is not rooted when I know it is. I have and use SuperSU and I've removed some system apps such as widgets that I don't use and are safe to remove. Also, apps such as ES File Explorer refuse to mount the /system folder. I can browse and edit all root folders except that one.
After successfully upgrading to g, all issues are fixed except 2, which again may not be my phone's fault. BUT g has added a new issue, now knock on/off will not work for some reason. I've turned it off and back on, and restarted a thousand times. Is there an apk responsible for allowing knock to work? What all can I try?
and btw, I'm also looking for a bloatware list for t-mobile D80120g! All of them I have found don't include everything or has a bunch of stuff that isn't there. I know some of this is crap but I'm really trying to only remove safe stuff so my issues don't return!
Try this to see if the knock on/off works

The best solution is to open dialer menu and type:
5689#*980# (Sprint)
3845#*801# (T-Mobile)
3845#*803# (AT&T Canada)
3845#*802# (International)
3845#*800# (At&T)
3845#*980# (Verizon)
And when hidden menu is showed up, go to "Settings"
and go to "Update Touch Firmware". Then touch will stop working for 5 seconds after this it should be working.

I saw that post somewhere else but when I enter 3845#*801# I get the message "Connection problem or invalid MMI code"

There is no way this to happen. Be sure you enter this 3845#*801#. My mistake was swapping # with *. You are obviously on stock firmware. Be sure you have connection. When i was entering it i didn't have to press the call button. It automatically opens after you enter it right. If this not help i think you can try reseting it to factory settings.
Yeah I tried it many times and double/triple checked I'm doing it correctly. Nothing happens when I type it in and I get that message if I try to dial it. I am using my wifi but I also tried my phone's 4G, same result. Anything else I can try?

Ah I got it! You were right with the information you gave me, it fixed the issue. I am using a better dialer which apparently the hidden menu only works for the default dialer. Thank you!

Caller shown as "Unknown" or "Anonymous"

So the title pretty much states the problem. After the last update of MIUI 12, my Redmi Note 7 went crazy.
All of the calls that I get (incoming) are shown as "Unknown number" or "Anonymous". Even if I have that number saved in my address book, it just doesn't decode it.
Another problem which has risen with this update is calling without country prefix. Before this update I could enter number with local code (number 8) which would look like 8-6234567. Now if I dial number in such format, the call automatically ends without any further information. It doesn't even start to dial it, just cancels the call. I must specifically put in number with the country code so it looks like +370-6234567. This is very annoying and I should note that before the update this worked without any issues.
Things I've tried:
Flashing older version of MIUI (didn't help, tried 11.0.3 and MIUI 10). I guess something was changed deeper with this update.
Forcibly enabling VoLTE with special code *#*#86583#*#*. This helped with the number prefix issue, I can call using local prefix again, however issue of "Unknown number" on incoming calls still persist.
Clearing app cache, enabling all storage permissions on Contacts and dialer app didn't help as well
Perhaps anyone has had similar issues and found the solution?
A short Google search. Maybe it help

I have tried all of the following steps, sadly they didn't work. I think if it was such "top level" issue like app cache or some settings, fresh flash of an older version MIUI would have helped, but it didn't.

Sorry, no idea. I use xiaomi.eu long time and never had this bug. With customers roms was it a bug by Google phone and contacts with permissions.
Alright so I have managed to solve this issue, although solution was very interesting. After tedious work of many re-flashes which didn't work, uninstalling apps and stuff I decided to test other SIM cards as the last resort, to make really sure that the phone has an issue.
After putting in another SIM, to my surprise everything worked perfectly. No issues with "Unknown caller", no problem with dialing numbers without country prefixes and so on.
This gave me clues that perhaps the phone itself isn't broken, but the SIM card is. I tested a few other SIM's just to be sure and all of them worked flawlessly. Therefore I just went to my provider and asked them to replace my SIM card. They did it in a few minutes and it was absolutely free.
And this worked. Now my phone works as it was working before. I've never faced such issue with SIM card and I still don't know if it was a coincidence or did the MIUI 12 update change something in the SIM firmware and it broke, because it was absolutely good before the update.
TLDR: I replaced my SIM card because apparently it was faulty (I know it is strange but that happens I guess).
Hi..All
I also got same problem after SIM change, actually I switched on the VoLTE in SIM setting.
the solution for me is (GO TO SETTING>SIM Card & mobile networks>select your prefered SIM>TURN OFF VoLTE) by doing this my problem has been solved.
