Hello!
I'm running EB13.
After I'm running Voice Dial all it does, says something like "Talk, please" Then it is an error message and "Bye".
Nothing else.
How to make it work? Is it working or not?
P.S. I've installed EB13voicedialfix. Still not working.
Is there is the way to make it work somehow?
Not yet I'm am ocd checking these forums for a fix or new rom that contains a fix. Kinda blows

Im posting here cause my phone is force closing xda app when i hit new topic. Sorry. My apps have recently been force closing on me. The reason i came to post is today my gallery stopped loading. It starts, then "buzz......buzz buzz buzz" force close. I cant change my wallpaper. Xda has been doing this also. Need help or something. Cleared data on gallery, restarted, pulled battery. Still doesnt work.

I assume you are:
1) running a Deodexed rom
2) Using bluetooth voice dial.
I and many others have the same issue, may want to change the name of your post to reflect that and maybe we can compile details here. EB13 voice dial fix seems to only fix the non bluetooth voice dialer, but as soon as you turn on a bt headset you will see the behavior you mention.
If you are using complete stock EB13 people have been saying BT voice dialing works fine.
I'm hoping one of the devs finds us a fix soon, I would really like this working but wont go back to stock eb13
I'm using eb13 stock and you are right, i'm getting this error on BT voice dial. I don't know you noticed it or not but it is not working without Bluetooth. I mean, it doesn't say anything and I couldn't say anything to the Voice Dial without BT.

By the way, I've noticed that Vlingo is working.
Any Fix for this yet?
Voice dialing works fine in EC05. However I don't know why they can't have a voice READ you the incoming call as a standard feature...hell, it was in crap-ass Windows Mobile. And Vlingo is just too invasive an app for me to consider.

Flash any custom ROM or go to full EC05 stock. BT voice dialing works fine in either.
Do you BONSAI?

Hey guys, today I basically re-did the fresh 2.0d rom (Freshly installed), uninstalling some apk from it. Mostly the HTC widgets... I installed Launcher.apk to have a droid like dock.
I am having an issue though, when ever i try and send an mms, I get an error which says "Generic network error". Is the Mms apk not fully supported in this rom?

You are on Sprint, correct? Mms.apk (the one included in fresh) is fully working, no issues at all. Assuming you didn't replace it with something else then it should be fine.
Try updating your profile and prl a couple of times (do profile, then prl, then profile, then prl) and see if it works itself out.

Thanks Flipz, I appreciate the feed back, yes I'm on sprint. Using chompSMS, which to my understanding uses Mms.apk as it's middle man.
Anyways i'll update and get back to you on it. And no i didn't replace it.
EDIT: Also tested it using the default messaging app.
Sorry to double post but apparently that did nothing, I'm beginning to think I should factory reset it.

You could try flashing fresh on top of itself first without a wipe to see if that helps. If not then go ahead and try doing a data wipe. There haven't been any data issues reported and it's been out for quite some time.

Ok it's fixed, I did the profile and pri update a last time just to be sure and it worked.
Ok, now that one bug is down, here is another. When I end a call at times it doesnt make the "BEEP" notifying me the call has ended, (-usually- when i use the end call button on the touch screen) When the beep doesn't sound i instantly know the bug has appeared since I've had it so many times. This bug wont allow me to dial anyone out, or does it? I'm not sure. Why? Because no sound comes out of my speakers. At all, even the tones for adjusting volume.

That's actually a known bug with this leak and affects all roms based on it. It's some type of conflict with HTC music. You can check here for a possible fix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=657244
Oh great thanks for the help again, In the future i will keep in mind to search the forums better.
Edit: -Odd, I dont even use the music player-

I've also heard theories that it's related to contacts sync happening. Honestly I've never once had it happen to me, but a lot of people have.

Just like a tootsie-pop.... THE WORLD MAY NEVER KNOW.
I've tried all the leading ROMS based on DK28 and all seem to have on re-occurring issue.
When I place a call about 75% of the time I have have no audio until I toggle the speaker phone. Usually I toggle back to the handset just in time to hear "hello... helllo?"
Am I alone on this? I've flashed back to stock using ODIN and then to a ROM, and every combination in between but nearly every ROM has this issue yet stock 2.1 does not. Thoughts?
Have you ever flashed cyan rom? I did and I have the same problem.. =(

I have not, I use MMS and the camera to much to use CM.
I have that issue also I think it's a bug ... Also the end call hangs hate that

It's a bug on dk28 there was a previous thread on this and a lot of people had it including mysel.
I have that bug too but 75% of the time sounds high to me. It happens to me around 30% of the time.
OKi doki, as long as I'm not alone.
If I just wait a sec, and let the call timer start before I put the phone to my head, it usually doesn't need the spkr toggle trick... I think its the prox sensor that is a lil finicky

I have this bug as well and it's atrocious when trying to stream audio via bluetooth, then I get a call, then try to resume bluetooth, or another call, or speaker phone.. i have to reboot the phone for it to return to normal.. otherwise I get so upset that I wanna smash my phone w/ a brick.
Two phones, two paths, fixed same way ... my wife and I have the same phone, I did the odin flash via download mode and the dk28 from sprints website. I updated hers via the "update.zip" found on the one click root and update thread. Her phone has this issue and no gps. My phone works fine, calls gps, BT audio and HF. Once I flased her phone, with the same file I did mine with, everything worked fine. Nothing fancy. Hope this helps.

Where do you find the dk28 from sprint's website ?
dk28 is a leak, therefore wouldn't be available via sprint's website AFAIK
Okay, so when i search for place, it gives me the right location and I see the correct intersection and stuff.
However, when I get driving directions, Google Nav takes me exactly in the opposite direction or some other random place. The address and everything is correct, but it just takes me in some bufooville area...It's 3 for 3 now, pissing me off and I really dont want to switch to sprint nav.
anyone else facing this issue? or any fixes?
Running stock FROYO EB13...see my signature..
Not see the issue here, but then again, I pretty much always use sprint nav. It's the one app that they got right IMO. My GPS is always faster, and more accurate on sprints app for some reason. (plus, the voice is just SO much better!)
bluetooth problems?
i have flashed the eb13 froyo onto my epic with the eb13 supernova, genocide .3a kernal and everything seems to be almost perfect except i still can not give voice commands over my bluetooth ....it will activate, say speak now and then it will disconnect before i can even give a command...if there is a fix for this please let me know...thanks

Have you tried Vlingo? It's pretty awesome with its voice-commands and car-mode. It's free and I seem to remember that it either shipped with the phone or was offered by Sprint for free.
I bet op's compass isn't calibrated correctly
I haven't checked since upgrading to supernova eb13. But with eclair, i had the same problem. Gps showed correct lock. But no matter what address I put in, it would say it found it, but it would always be way off. I just assumed it was a problem with the navigation software, not with the phone, or gps.
Google NAV (BETA)!!
Betabetabeta
Beta beta beta
Use sprint nav. Its free...I don't get why people use google nav. Sprint nav is the only sprint app I don't consider bloatware lol its always so accurate and the 3d view is fun.
I used google nav and it got my location andstuff righ, but it kept telling me the place I had to go was to my left...but on my left was a highway above an empty lot lol

Yeah flying fox is right. I've had it.to me to a deserted place and say my.location was right there. Sometimes its right and.sometimes its not. That's why.it gives out that statement before you use the navigation on it that its still in beta. Sprint navigation is the way to.go. I keep the.apk on.my SD card and install it when I flash roms.

Google nav has been great to me so far. I find it far superior to many other nav programs. As for the nasty voice, you can change that depending on text to speech settings on your phone.
I also found that google nav works the best with audio over bluetooth in my car.
First and foremost to everybody over at ACS thank you for bringing Gingerbread to my Epic. For the most part I have a fairly bug free, fully functioning installation.
I did want to mention a couple of things:
- I am getting an interruption in charging (I know this was a known bug)
- I have fully functioning GPS (I got a lock in GPS Status right before I did the install, left GPS on, shut the phone down and did the install, when my phone booted up after the install I turned on GPS and got a lock right away!)
- My voicemail won't verify! (I can still receive voicemail, I just don't get the voicemail-to-text to work) Plus, my voicemail icon in the notification bar NEVER goes away! (Hoping there might be a fix for that coming soon)
- ED12 does something absolutely no ROM I have had does... I listen to Pandora in my car with an auxilary cable plugged into the headphone jack. I also have my bluetooth headset paired and connected. In the past, whenever I received a phone call or wanted to make a phone call I had to unplug the auxilary cable in order for the phone to route call audio to my headset... NOT THE CASE ANYMORE!!! In a very awesome twist all call audio automatically routes to the bluetooth! Also, amazing bluetooth compatability with Google voice, Voice Search, etc.
So, all in all, Gingerbread has made me totally happy! I am sorry that I put this in the General forum apparently I am too new to post on Development pages so I understand if this gets moved.
Curious, when do you think we will start seeing ROMs and Bug Fixes for ED12?
Also, I saw that Jez2cool's thread with the tar version, however the link to the file was dead (just came up with a Dropbox error page), will there be a flashable version for me to Odin coming soon? Will that version fix some of the issues I am seeing on the version I have installed through CWM?
Once again to the whole team at ACS thank you!
I will be looking forward to further development!

ED12 - ACS-Leaky Gingerbread
There wont be any bug fixes for ed12. It will just be another rom that samsung will make. Its just a test build. Hopefully we can get another leak when another version comes out. Also the tar and flashable version thru recovery is the same thing.

It's actually so unbelievable that I think Samsung just hasn't overwritten that part of the code yet in attaching their skin to GB...
We probably won't be seeing a TAR to Odin since that file is off-limits until Sprint releases it to the public.

The lock screen date is a universal problem, not just ED12.
its a alot of bugs they dont say about this rom
I'm running gingerbread ED12 stock ROM right now for the first time. My first impressions are "Amazing." This ROM seems like it is the direct port from the Nexus S with TouchWiz on top of it. Everything seems to be working...I know people said they are having a lot of problems, but I haven't seen any too major ones. My battery meter is fine, GPS is working, and the phone isnt crashing.
WiMax doesn't work, which I assumed. And the lockscreen has the date cutoff like every other ROM in May. That's a problem with Samsung's TouchWiz that they need to fix.
EDIT: And again the "Time Without Signal" issue is still here. I wish they would fix that
gingerbread was way cool, but the thing main that stopped me from running it full time was the fact that visual voicemail wasn't working. Couldn't download vm's and wanted me to call the vm service like I was on a dumb phone. Eff that
There were some other minor bugs that I was willing to put up with, like not waking the phone when the keyboard is opened and only having the CRT power off animation but not [/i]on[/i]
Then there are the things that samsung/sprint seem entirely unwilling to fix like the date on lockscreen and whatever it is that causes google sky maps to always point at the southern hemisphere.
still, I was willing to forgive all that for HALF of the badass CRT animation.. it was THAT cool imo, but i just couldn't deal with calling to get voicemails LOL
Just use Google voice dude its better

That's a problem with the Sprint data being uploaded. It seems the 3G uploading is borked as well. You can test it with "SpeedTest.net" app
Since the update to GB... my voice-to-text has not been working properly in the car. I first thought it might be background noise like the A/C or something but it appears to only happen when the car is moving.
Isn't this the whole point of voice-to-text? To keep you safe while driving so it doesn't require typing. Am I the only one with this problem? Is there any kind of workaround? I depend heavily on this feature. This is a big negative for me.
Same issue here. Voice to text has been broken for me since the first GB update on a stock unrooted EVO.
busted here too.
sucks.
Yes this happens to me too.
Just quit using your phone in the car so i can quit flipping you people off!
Have y'all tried updating voice search from the market? I noticed there was a recent update for it mentioning bug fixes.
Tried updating everything. Full factory restore on Unrooted GB 2.3.3 both the first release and with the maintenance fix. Changed Voice Input and Output settings. Changed the Google account dashboard and personalization. Everything and even rolling back to 2.2 which doesn't work because of the new Hboot.
It is completely broken. You get going 20-25mph+ and the mic does not respond.
Hope that it is address in a future release update (not likely), but will have to root and roll back.
Can any one that is rooted and on the stock 2.3 or different rom confirm if voice search is working for them?

Yeah... I updated Voice Search and I will find out later if it works when I get in my car.
Well, I did the Voice Search update and still can't do voice to text in the car while it's moving. This is ridiculous! I love using HeyTell especially when driving and now it has become useless.
A guy at work asked me today if i knew anything about this problem. He has had this problem since the GB update and his EVO is stock and not rooted. I told him I would look into it. Looks like I found the answer.

I did; however, find out that the voice search does work in the texting mode once you've hit the car in front of you wondering why it wasn't working during the driving process. Once stopped, it is amazing!
EDIT: OK..couldn't resist, but reminds me of the little "Don't use this while your driving" disclaimer in the gps units turning them on.
I've had issues with it when not moving.
I'm not sure where this connection to driving comes into play?

The whole advantage of voice-to-text is so you don't text while driving. My phone sits in a dock in the car. If someone texts me, I can verbally respond without taking my hands off the wheel. You know... kinda like talking on the phone hands-free. That's why voice-to-text is so valuable to me.
Earlier tonight I discovered the problem is worse. I was outside taking a walk and decided to use voice-to-text and nothing. Would not recognize. But once I stopped walking and used it... it was fine. So it's not just limited to driving. They need to fix this problem!
I did some looking around on Google and this issue has been reported on multiple different sites. However, it seems that it's more related to background noise rather than being in a moving vehicle. If there is any amount of background noise, voice to text seems to not work properly. It seems that it works fine if you are in a completely silent environment.

Yeah... I read the same thing but my tests did not ring true. When I was stopped at a light, I put the AC on at full blast and the voice-to-text worked flawlessly. But as soon as I moved and even with the AC off... nothing. For me, there didn't seem to be any connection with background noise... only movement.
My only other suggestion is to try an app called Vlingo for the mean time. The In Car mode is amazing. Just say "hey vlingo" and it starts listening to commands. It really is completely hands free. You never have to touch your phone to send texts and it even reads your message back to you to confirm before sending. I've never had problems with it although the in car mode is still in beta. Good luck!
I just spoke this entire post while driving 45 miles an hour down the road using Google voice search.
I had same issue on stock Rom. I believe if u look at main settings, voice input and output, text to speach settings, and in there it should say something about downloading something. If it needs updating u can press it and market will open with what u need

So I tried going through the text-to-speech settings but no luck. The issue doesn't seem to be with text-to-speech but with voice-to-text. It's like the microphone stops picking up audio when in motion.
Nevertheless... got this today from HTC...
