Hi everyone,
I have successfully upgraded my NS OTA to 2.3.3, but now I can't download any apps? or do any updates. I am connect via wifi and can access the web in other apps.
I have done a hard reset/wipe and still I can't do it, it just always comes back with "download unsuccessful".
Please can anyone help?
This is wierd I am getting the same thing happening when I sign into My galaxy S, I can't download any apps? is the Android market likely to be down? or is there something I need to do to my account?

Thanks for the reply, I tried this but it was still the same, and when I connect my google account to my Galaxy S it does the same thing, this is over wifi or 3g, is there any chance that the google servers are down or something?
Looks like I am not the only one then:

Did you do the update manually? Or from Google? I haven't received the update yet.

I've been on 2.3.3 for a few days now but I got tired of it this morning so I decided to go back to CyanogenMod but I had this issue. Nothing would download at all. It was very, very frustrating. I ended up going back to 2.3.3 stock and its working fine again. I'm really not sure what the hell was going on.

It was an over the air update. But I had to restore first before it would see it. I think there was a problem with the Google servers last night, all seems OK now.

@Dax05: Don't wait for the OTA. Just download it from xda (make sure you download the right file for you), and follow the instructions. It's really easy. I did it in 5 minutes. It's been a week now and everything runs smoothly!

I'll look into it 'cause if I'm not mistaken I saw the one for GRH78 & I have the GRH78C build. It wasn't working due to that.

Hi I downloaded the manual update file on my wifes phone. It installed fine but I cannot find the flash player beta 3. Is anybody else having this issue? I tried wiping but that didn't fix the issue.

You will not find flash in the market as 10.1 is included in the update. go to settings, applications, manage applications, click the "all" tab at the top and its magical froyo goodness (only 52kb to instead of the huge file). your welcome
Just realized that protected apps are not showing. Does anybody know why? I think I'm the only one having issues with 2.2 for evo.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Your right it is included in the install. A little different from the nexus one 2.2

Protected apps aren't working for me either. Here's my list of issues so far:
PRI is still 1.33 instead of 1.40
Protected apps not showing. About 10 of mine, and about half are paid too.
Browser seems to glitch a bit with Flash on, mostly when scrolling. Scrolling is slow and the graphics get kinda messed up.
Other than that, my 2.2 build seems great. Mostly I'd like to fix the PRI and especially fix the Market issue. Does anyone know at least a temporary fix?
Assuming you have the rooted 2.2 Froyo ROM.
Market Fix:
Recovery Mirror: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QIBIFHBM
Settings>>Applications>>Manage Apps>>ALL>>Market
Wipe Market Data/Cache
Reboot Recovery
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Flash "MarketUpdateFroyoHdpi.zip"
Reboot
Accept Market Terms
Market should be fixed ;-)

Damn! Just when I think I don't need root for a while, I go and flash something that can only be fixed with root. LOL. Oh well, as long as its not the PRI issue, this won't be a problem for too long.

Are you trying with the new updated market?
If so go into settings>applications>manage applications>market
Then click uninstall updates. Then try. Your market will update itself again and should be fine.. this worked for me anyway!

Thanks, Man! Worked like a charm.
This was driving me nuts and I did not want to factory reset the phone.
Just to share, I encounter my download list blank when I enter the market this morning.
So I uninstall the update and enter the market again, I stay there for a while to browse through the different apps then later, it log out by itself and the market icons on my home page update to the new icon by itself.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
the new market looks really screwy, at first i was stuck at the "starting download" screen and it won't download, so i did as you advise w/ the uninstall update trick
now i downloaded and installed the app, but now in the market it's stuck at the installing screen

thanks this worked for me
but do you know what causes the issue?? I couldn't figure it out.
I did encounter download problem as most of the apps I tried to install were not successful so I uninstall the market updates by accessing the application menu and uninstall the updates.
After that, I have no problem downloading the updates or installing it but the market seems not updating it to the new version even though I left it for a while but I guess Google might be sorting out the new market issues.
hmm... I just tried to update something and it was unsuccessful. It worked fine until today.
Tried to download a different app then the updating one, same thing.
Tried your way, but there's no "uninstall updates" when I tick on Market. I can only clear the cache, and that doesn't help. So, what gives?
Its annoying because its done it three times for me!!
Ive uninstalled the updates and its turned back to stock 1.6 market, then it works, then the market updates itself to the 2.1 icons and it still works ok, but after a few days it stops workinga gain!
Really hacking me off!
I'm still trying it out... Started to download the Weather channel app (first app I found). It DL-ed 2% (around 10KB), then stopped saying Download paused, now it resumed to 51KB and it's paused again!
I mean, seriously?
What is going on?
EDIT: It's reachead 95KB. Since I don't have a network issue, I'll assume that the Market is lagging (at least here).
EDIT2: It reached 1,07 MB.
EDIT3: Installing.
So, in conclusion, the Market is lagging, bigtime
EDIT4: Still doesn't want to update the 2 apps that require updating
Noticed after upgrading to Froyo (using samsung website that completely wipes the phone) and after installing my apps again, they were all there.
This morning only 5 are showing in Market/My apps. Am I just the lucky one or is anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks!
No, your not the only one. It has been posted a few times. I had the same issue, luckily I still had AppBrain installed.
I had the same problem. I cleared the cache for the market application and everything came back.

Hi all,
Issue with TWRP and restore. I've got a backup, but when I tried to restore it, it would crash and reboot while restoring the /data partition. I try wiping the /data partition (I have my backup on a server, too) and it crashes midway through that, too. Just reboots and returns to TWRP.
What should I do?
Thanks,
Ben

I'm currently restoring the factory 4.2.2, then installing TWRP and adb'ing the files back over to try restoring again. Hopefully this works.
Thanks,

This issue is mentioned over in the official TWRP forum under "Original Android Development" The Dev acknowledged it, saying he needs to fiddle with it... Might not be bad if you poked your head in there with any other information you could add...
*fingers crossed* Hope they get it patched up soon... I'm a little restore shy now. Up until I encountered this, I was swapping ROMs on a nearly daily basis... No anymore.
I started over again, like you, and it works ok now. But I don't know when/if the problem will rear its ugly head again, so holding off until I hear more.

I'm having the same problem with 2.5.5.0. Happens probably 30% of the time and always during the data restore. It completes on the second go-round, but I'm constantly holding my breath. I was under the impression that this was taken care of in this latest version.

So I just tried doing the same with my phone and the installation failed, something about illegal instruction. I'm running CM 10.1 on an unlocked, S-OFF HTC Vivid.

No, I tried with RomToolbox, same method as with the N10. I choose 2.3.3 0 from the list, so I assume it was the Holiday version. The first time I tried, it claimed I didn't have permission, but I think that was because it was the first time I was using Rom toolbox since flashing CM so the permission popup came after the fact. I rebooted and that was when the message changed to invalid instruction.
Edit: Tried again with 2.4.1.0. Same result. But I located the files and they are holiday, so I can just flash with fastboot, I guess.

My N10 is rooted but with a stock ROM. Earlier on it said that there was an update (4.3) and it downloaded it, re booted and then came up with an error saying 'no command' while displaying the small pic of the Android. It sat there for 10 mins and then eventually booted back into the OS. When I checked the version, it was back to 4.2.2.
Now when I check for an update, it says that there's no update available.
What do I do?

That message is okay. Nothing is wrong with your tablet, other than the fact that the update didn't take. Do as the above poster said, or manually install the OTA.

Thanks guys. I cleared Google Framework Data and the download started again and failed again. This time, all it said was "error"!
I really don't want to zero the tablet again and lose all my data by doing the update manually. Is there any way to avoid that?
Also is there anything great about 4.3 that makes the update worth doing?

Yeah, I thought that was it too so I unrooted and tried again. It's still the same.
I really don't want to do a factory reset and manually update the bloody thing - I'll lose all my stuff!
Called Google support and sent them pictures of the Android screen (they asked for them!) and apparently they're investigating...

You can manually update without performing a factory reset by just pushing boot and system, although you need to know what can go wrong before you try.
Same issue, rooted and custom recovery.
But if they are investigation, maybe I won't remove the custom recovery, too much work.
I got the 'error' screen too. pressed power and volume and it told me that build.prop failed the file check, pulled an fresh copy out of the old factory image, copied it to my n10 and tried the OTA again. All went ok, now on 4.3
Same error!!
Already did a factory reset and still have the error
