Hello,
I have installed an other keyboard that I like so much. For me it is the best keyboard I every had. The keyboard ist still running but it is shorter. The original keyboard on original phone is larger smoother and not blurry (see the line on the 3 bottom buttons). The left one is the original and the right one is my x8 with this keyboard installed. What can I do to change the dimension from keyboard? I think it was in an xml file from the keyboard.apk or from framework-res.apk? But which xml file? Please help me :-(
can you share this keyboard. thank
The keyboard is not one file. There are more files that must copy to System. Dont know how to make an installable file. And its not ready. The dimension is wrong.
I hope anybody here from the developers can help me to find the last issue with the dimension. I think that is the reason while it not runs so smoothly like the original.
The keybord have the same size(pixels)...
X8 res in higher.. and that is the reson...
Do you know what I can do to fix this? Did I make bigger icons for the keyboard.apk or did I change anything in any xml file? I dont know which file I must be change to fix the resolution :-(
Even if you find the file xml, I dont think you would be able to edit it.
The easier thing to do, is to decrease your phone resolution to look like x10mini... well its not a good idea..
Use SMART KEYBOARD PRO!
You can install skins, layouts and modify button size.
Why I should not be able to edit the xml file? At first time I start I think Im not be able to becam the keyboard running. I crash the system at once twice and so often but I dont give up and know it is running.
The Smart Keyboard is not this what I want.
can you share the file. I have both x10 mini and x8 too.. I could try to modify it.

Phone must be rooted. I copy all files and change permissions with root-explorer.
or you can instal this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964223
Have this keyboard preinstaled
I dont want install a new rom but can you please tell me how do you chance the size from the keyboard so that it have the same size like the original on the x10 mini?

Hi guys!
Wich would you guys think to be the best keyboard input for WM 5 / 6.
Ive tried a few, touchpal, pocket CM keyboard, etc......
I would like to have some different inputs, into what some of the users think!
Thanks alot!
(Links would be appreciated!)
i prefer the pocketcm with the iphone skin. works well for me
Hi I have a problem in using pocketcm..hope frens don't mind helping me
Why everytime I want to change to use pocket cm when writing it will force me to use the standard keyboard?? I mean even I am choosing pocketcm as my deffault input..it will be automatically set to default keyboard why is that?
look for a SIM cab file. This will allow pocket cm keyboard to become your standard.
I prefer the cootek touchpal myself.

Hi.
i had the same problem. but yesterday i found the solution to make any keybord the default one. (-:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=977148&postcount=1
I find PocketCM keyboard. It is fully customizable/skinnable.
See my skin here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=353191
i like the pocketcm interface but it's a bit slow to type if compare with touchpal, however, i hope touchpal will hav skin to change, it took out lots of space in the screen.

I was disappointed to see that the HTC Diamond Keyboard CABs found here on XDA-DEVS were all for QVGA. I wanted to test it out on my Dell x51v, but the keyboard would not display correctly.
So what I did was extract the image files from the CAB, resize them to double their resolution, and recompile them into these two CAB files for ease of installation. All the CABS do is overwrite the image files installed by HTC Diamond keyboard to VGA equivalents. You must fully install the keyborad and languages from another CAB file BEFORE installing this CAB file to work.
Note: I admit, resizing images is not the best method of converting QVGA to VGA. Some images may appear blurry. How good this displays for you depends on how sharp is the screen on your device. This will at least allow you to try the keyboard on a VGA device.
I installed the Gullum Diamond Keys CAB found here. I prefer it over P1Tater's version found here because it seems to work well on my device. The images were extracted from P1Tater's because it has all languages in one cab.
The "ENG" Cab file contains the images needed for the english keyboard.
The "OTHER" Cab file contains the images for ESN, RUS, WWE, FRE, PTG, NORDIC, GRK, GER, and ARA.
(Please post if a true VGA version of Diamond Touch Keyboard surfaces)
Someone sorta beat you to it, I think.

Hope that helps.
wow this is stupid. the original manila keyboard files aka diamond keyboard files are vga and have been resized to qvga. get the vga files and they will look like they should and be original vga.
Yeah, the original VGA graphics would be much better, but without them the only alternative is to upscale the QVGA graphics or redrawing from scratch.
Since I know the true VGA graphics are out there somewhere, redrawing is unnecessary and a waste of time. This was quickly done. I described this as a temporary fix in the OP. Some people may not care about the fuzziness. Once the true VGA CAB is release, this will gladly become obsolete. LennySH from HTCGeeks says he has the VGA graphics and should be releasing a better fix. Use this if you want to try the keyboard now and use the better version when it comes out.
Note, this overlays the graphics for all three keyboard, not just the QWERTY like the other post.

All I can say is that I dont have that problem using the Gullum CAB with English Keys. See first post images.
Edit: I just realized you may be refering to numbers being typed instead of letters in keypad. I experienced this once, when switching to another program while the keypad was up, only numbers would be entered. I found the only way to reset back to text entry was to hit the "options" key, then close down the settings panel. Letter entry would be restored.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I noticed that as well that in order to reset back to text entry is to go to the options but this is such a pain.
Hope that there will be a fix for this soon.
Thanks again.

Well, I think you did a fantastic job!! It installed fine on my x51v, and looks great! Now thumb typing is easy! I love using the 20-key Diamond keyboard!
Props and thanks for doing this!
will this keypad work in Opera Mobile 9.5?
I found that the QVGA ones didn't produce any letters in, say the google searchbar
I have a problem with your keyboard - I've installed it and it appear as keyboard but I can't use it, I can't write any letters. Must I first install gullum's program?
thanks!

Hey!
First of all iam really sorry if this has been asked before! But i searched around and didn't find anything about it ..
I have seen some roms with The Touch HD Keyboards cooked into them but only for once because they were to buggy. I would like these keyboards on my Touch Diamond, actually it is only the Phone Keypad iam looking for as the HD keypad provides a better way of changing between words..
Has this allready been made available as a cab or ?
Btw: Hope this was placed in the right section .. Just thinking that the guys here at the diamond forum is more into hd porting than they are at the development and hacking section ..
Thank you!

The new blackstone keyboard that people have talked about is an add-on and must be installed separately and was supplied in another thread.
You can download the new keyboard need from:
http://www.1filesharing.com/download/Z1TQ2XXI/
Extract the contents of the file into a temporary directory on your phone
launch the taskmgr application included
kill SIPGT_app process
then install xmicky keyboard fix.cab
a restart will be needed at the end
this will install the new blackstone keyboard with arrow keys.
Enjoy!

works great,very nice keyboard.
works on swifts 7.5.
Hi!
I've tried to install this keyboard on my Diamond with 1.93 Official ITA Rom, but when I use any app in landscape I see it cutted.
Why???
Edit: It's a WVGA Keyboard? Beacause I've not a Touch HD but a simple Diamond (that is VGA). Perhaps it is the problem.
Nice guys ! Just what i was looking for.. Next thing is how do we change the language for T9 input?
Hi guys,
I haven't any clear answer.
Does it fit on the Diamond screen? In Landscape? In portrait?
I'm at work and can't try right now.
Thanks for your reply.
it does fit in portrait, not in landscape.
it is usable in landscape but it is cut of.
b.t.w.
with every thing i do, my phone opens the smal keybord in stead off full qwerty.
even if i put it on full qwerty in the settings.
Works great in portrait. Noticed if I want to start a new email or text, the phone would pick up a name or give me an option of a person to choose from when adding a name to send to. now it doesn't. Could this be linked?
when i try to dl it i get a virus warning from norton....
any mirrors?
thats norton giving you a false positive.
its famous for doing that.
Does anyone know how to change the language? Its rather pointless having this keyboard if we can't change it to the language we want..
i'm able to change the lang...
works great on my TD using duty v3.3
can someone upload this to a different server? i cant download anthing off that site
The keyboard (virtual) on my Wing is the one that I use and like. I want the 4 rows of keys like a normal keyboard. Meaning, 123.... top row, then qwerty next 3 rows. I don't like the ones that are ABC or 123. I also like the way my words are saved and stored for quick recognition. Where is this keyboard located in the Wing? I would like to copy it and the Dictionary to another phone.
I have tried all the other keyboards such as SPB, Rescoe, Interkey, etc., and do not like them.
Thank you!
I dont know how or where to get the stock htc keyboard you are looking for but I did want to make a recomendation, have you tried "BJK HTC EzInput Full Keyboard?" if i am not mistaken its what the latest htc models are rolling out with. Search this forum for it and give it a try all you do is download and install the cab for the keyboard and then the language cab and your set to go.

I posted this thread because I didn't see anything similar, maybe someone else doesn't like the sense keyboard too, so I'll just post it.
If you were anything like me, you liked sense, but hated that damned sense keyboard, well I have just bothered to put the stock Android keyboard on my DarkStone Sense V3.1 and it works.
Step 0 (optional) = Download a second keyboard from the Android Market (such as AnySoftKeyboard) so you can still have a keyboard to use if anything goes wrong.
Step 1 = Download the file for the keyboard
Step 2 = Use Root Explorer (I recommend it)(Or whatever else you can make work) to copy the files into the system.
LatinImeGoogle.apk goes into system/app
libjni_latinime.so goes into system/lib
libjni_latinime.so will ask to overwrite the existing file, (it doesn't on some builds) overwrite it, if anything bad happens the original .so is in my backups .rar for you to download.
Step 3 = Long press a text box and hit input method. Android keyboard should be on that list.
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
I will also attach the original files in case you mess up and are stuck with no keyboard. (I did it... was no fun.)
My edited method leaves you with the HTC keyboard as well (need feedback on what builds do this)

and also this makes me lose the original keyboard too, as the HTC_IME will be replaced by a 0 byte file
Swype, that's the ticket. There's also the XDA-improved HTC keyboard, which is plenty nice
I had the same problem what i did Is that i Navigated to The media folder in the system folder Then i deleted a couple of Ringtones that i don't really use, And that Freed some space for me to copy these files
