Hi,
I have Windows 7 Home Premium.
I have installed stock SE Updater app. Then I have been able to upgrade my X8. It has succeed but I couldn't use adb. "adb devices" sad: no devices found
Ok.
I have this driver: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/wportal/devworld/downloads/download/dw-x8drivers?cc=gb&lc=en
I have installed it. Now adb works but SE Updater does not. What the hell?
I tried to remove drivers and plug in the cable and look for the driver manually without success.
SEMC USB FLASH device doesn't work for me. Win7 sometimes see it as SEMC HSUSB FLASH device. I don't know what's wrong.
Anybody knows a way to purge my evil drivers and install correct ones?
Without Win7 reinstall of course. Anyway my Win7 works perfectly but this driver issue.
Thx guys
Driver on dev.se site is for ADB. You have to download this driver.

I had previous version of gorgon gate's driver package. I have installed the new one. And I have cleaned the registry with CCleaner. It seems the cable driver works now.
Thx.

so I have used USBDeview a million times to uninstall all the HTC drivers and then plug the phone in to install the drivers then I click on "Locate and install driver software (recommended)" then continue when asked for admin permission and then I get an error message thats pretty long but it sais
"newdev.exe - Dab Image" on the corner then
"C:\Windows\system32\wdfcoinstaller01005.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support"
I click Ok and then it loads for a bit and then tells me it encountered a problem installing (clearly) I've searched all over the forum and googled too but all I get are instructions on how to install but no trouble shooting
I have a mytouch 3g 1.2 and Windows Vista.
Bump
I too have vista and using the same steps. instead USBdeview doesn't seem to remove the drivers. but after I hiut uninstall I unplug and re plug my phone and Vista prompts me to install drivers. only it cant find them and the unlockr doesn't list the right usb drivers and I cant find them.
So in a nutshell I cant do ADB cause it cant find my phone. obviously, in debugging mode and not in debugging mode.
Should I try doing all this in Linux?
Linux will recognize it, you still have to "mount" the device by pulling down the "taskbar" and mounting.

Try downloading HTC Sync and installing it. Then plug your phone in and it will install the drivers. Worked like a charm for me
yes, download the new HTC Sync from the HTC website, 2.0.33 and it will work fine.
Or version 2.0.25

Here i'm offering you a RAR Archive* that contains the lastest drivers separated by folder with:
[*]ADB
[*]Flash Mode
[*]Fastboot
I see some guys with problems to get drivers and another issues.
This drivers works at least in Windows 8, tested and approved by me, but in Windows 8 you need to MANUALLY install the drivers.
If you like, say thanks.
Download Link - Uploaded.to
*RAR Archive: It can only be oppened by a RAR Decompressor like WinRAR.
Thanks, I've been waiting for that for ages!
Do not do this Linux Mint ?

As a new security measure in Windows 8, unsigned drivers are automatically blocked.
Happily, there’s a way round this problem too. If you go to the Advanced Startup app in Windows 8, you can choose to reboot the computer with Advanced Startup options enabled. You’ll then be given the opportunity to boot into various troubleshooting modes, including Safe Mode, Debugging Mode and the snappily-named “Disable Driver Signature Enforcement” mode.
Thanks.
ive been looking for this everywhere thank u.
Thanks, your are the first link returned by google when search "adb for windows download". :good:

Hello,
Just an average XDA noob speaking here. Reason i'm creating this topic is because I'm having problems getting the ADB composite drivers right. Previously I've rooted a HTC Hero without any problems, but with my Huawei U8800 Ideos X5 I just can't fix it, I searched in all corners of the Internet. Below are my specs.
- Android 2.3.5
- Unbranded
I've also tried to root with SuperOneClick and by replacing the boot.img, but I can't get it to work because of the drivers.
When I get to recover mode (the pink/purple screen) it isn't showing me the IMAGE folder on my computer. Also tried to install new drivers for the ADB composite by using the H:/Mobile Partner disk on my phone but that isn't helping either. It says their isn't any new hardware found in the folder, but as you can see on the image, there are still exclamation marks. I Also uninstalled the drivers a few times and tried to re-install them but that isn't working neither. Firstly my phone was recognized as an Other device > Ethernet Controller in the device manager screen. But that was possible to solve by browsing to the H:\MobilePartner\Drivers folder.
By the way, when in recovery mode plugged in the computer, it shows me two drivers called "HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES". I can't seem to find a good driver for those, they also show the !-mark.
Any help will be appreciated! :good:

What's the best way to do that? Just delete them from the device manager screen and letting them re-install automaticly by the phone? Or just download drivers from the internet and install it manually?

if u r doing manual driver installation, then its best to disallow auto-installation by windows..
delete all instances from device manager, or u may use an application called "USBDeview" to remove the usb drivers.. and i think this second way is probably doing it more cleanly..

Thanks man, gonna try that tomorrow after school.
Will keep you updated.
Sorry for the late update, forgot about the topic... I threw away all the drivers, got the pinkpurple screen and connected to my pc. It's now missing this drivers when connected, Windows can't install them itself. Check the printscreen below.

Ok ty, I started over, deleted all the drivers and let Windows install the drivers themself. Still not working. I find it very strange why Android Composite ADB Interface pops up 4 times in the device manager... As you can see, he installed one by himself >> https://(w)(w)w.dropbox.com/s/lttgky3qozhraf9/kak4.png
I'll try your method.
Hi,
I just got my nexus 10 and the drivers for mtp are not installing right now the device gets installed as acer adb interface.
please help.
mtp is ticked tried changing from mtp to camera and back doesnt help.
The third post in this thread has links for the drivers
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2670400
You will probably need to manually update them
Happy flashing!

Hi thanks for the tip got adb working with naked drivers but which ones should i use for mtp it doesnt work with google ones...
I would recommend downloading the SDK (should also be linked) and then run it and update the drivers from there

Windows chose the wrong ones, it happens
Go to device manager, look for all the usb drivers, plug in tablet and see which one pops up, then manually update (should be in the naked driver folder or SDK if you updated it)

did you get it working ?
best to delete the driver that it has seen and then replug it back in, make sure it uses the correct one, otherwise nkthjtwill work.
there's a few walk throghs on XDA and the web.
1. Disable driver signature
2. Install Oneplus usb drivers
It won't work unless you have windows media player installed on your os which I guess is not there since it is "N " version of windows instead of standard.

It doesnt work because Windows N has no media feature pack needed for MTP to work.
Download the windows 10 media feature pack and it will work.
All the above isnt completely true, just completely delete the driver for your found device, then install the driver as you've got from the web.
It'll install and be recognised, then just change from charging to MTP then it'll see the new driver, from that point you'll be in business, your interaction will make the difference.
