So I have my HD2 SD care partitioned with 8GB for WP7 [Nand] and 8GB set for my Android builds. I was wondering if everytime I switch Android builds do I have to repartition the entire SD card, or is there a way to just simply replace the Android build from before with a newer Android build.
I've already repartitioned multiple times, but just wanted to know if there was a simpler way of swapping out my Android build without touching the WP7 partition on my SD card.

I have loads of Android apps in my EXT4 partition, so before I go and try out WP7 I'd like to know if the install will format the FAT32 partition, or all partitions?
I need to know about this before installing WP7 as well. Will I be able to dual boot android or, if i'm not happy with WP7, go back to how it is right now-with my SD Android ROM
i just had an exfat and fat32 partition on it...both are gone after wp7
WP7 will format the sd card.
I suggest to use a cheap old sd card for testing. I tried WP7 for one day and went back to android. I like the animations and transitions but the system dont lets you use your phone as usb stick and is locked down to main functions.
WP7 on HD2 booted via SD card, similar to Android. Or maybe a dual ROM with WM 6.5.x and WP7? Find a way to re-portion the SD card so WP7 doesn't take up the whole thing, and have enough to run a RAM Android ROM as well??
Here is how you run wp7 and android from the same card:

Cotulla is trying to make wm6.5 boot from sd card. Watch the magldr thread for updates.

I don't think anyone is trying to get wp7 running from sd card at this moment but I could be wrong

You just have to copy the sd android build to your sd card. Then in magldr, choose which folder has the android build you want to boot and then boot ad sd. When you install wp7, it will copy over your NAND android, and if you want to use one sd card for both wp7 and android, you will have to partition your sd card correctly so wp7 doesn't take up the whole card. There are threads about it in the sd android dev section and the hd2 wp7 sections.

Great Thanks I did it and i worked!
I got another question,
If I am istalling Android NAND, can i install after that WP7 SD, and make the Android the default?
I have watched and read for some time here and been putting the android switch off because of time. Now I would like to try to run a build or two from my MicroSD. I have seen several places that a formatted SD is best. I have tons of WM's apps stored there so I reluctant to format over them.
I would like to be able to dual boot with my current WM6.5 and android.
I thought about getting a second Micro SD to mess with but if I had to swap sd card it would be a real pain. I have a Otter box for my HD2 and just getting the cover off to reset it is terrible.
Can I partition my Micro SD for wm and android? or does it have to be two cards?
Since you are staying with winmo and running android from SD, there's no need for partitioning the card,,, the android build simply lives in a folder called android on the SD card.
Partitioning the SD card is for nand android that uses apps2sd.
If you want to format the card,(or if you decide to partition) just copy everything off onto the PC, format (or partition) it, then copy everything back.
I have all my winmo files and folders still on my card, with no issues (running nand build with partitioned card,,, the android stuff and winmo stuff all sit quite happily together with no interference)
Samsamuel,
Thanks for the reply. That is good news. I know that the class of the card makes a different in performance but should I even try it on the class 2 16gb card what came with the phone?
I'm using a 7 or 8 year old 2gbsandisk, no idea what class it is but can't be that great, and I have no problems, no lags, nothing to indicate any performance issues.

this had me going for a while.
search for the ext4 recovery version for sd card.
with madldr you set the boot folder to ext4 and boot into recovery from there.
i have windows 7 in nand, and 1 sd card with 'sd android | ext4 data | windows 7' which i find easier although you need 2 cards to set it up anyway.
ok thanks
check out one of the links below, you can have WP7 in nand & Anroid NativeSD with EXT4 on one SD card.
