I have 2 sd cards, one 4gb and other 8gb. First I installed wp7 on nand and put in 4gb card, everything worked fine... Now I wanted Android on another sc card and to boot it with MAGLDR.
I put Android folder in root of 8gb sd card and after I go in MAGLDR to "Boot AD SD" it throws me error "can't load Kernel" or something simillar.
Than I went in mgldr services options to the option where I choose dir. And I haven't found Android folder, only the <.> sign.
What am I doing wrong? Do I have to format my sd card in some other way or something?
Help appreciated!
u got to put kernel on ur card
It is, I placed Android folder on the root of sd card. Does wp7 somehow affect it? Tried with another sd 1gb sd card but still unable to boot

Hi,
I have a question which need some advise. I am currently dual booting wp7 and android sd build. I use magldr to select boot from sd whenever i wanna use android. Btw, I swap btw 2 sd cards, 8gb each , one for wp7 and one for android.
I happened to find a spare sd card 8gb class 4 and thought would like to replace the android sd card which is only class 2, in hope of faster speed. I copied all the files from old sd card to the new class 4 and tries to boot via magldr as usual. However, i encounter this error which says kernel sd fails and thus cant boot. I insert old card back and it boots as normal.
So my question is does magldr recognises the new sd card and thus do not allow me to boot with the new sd card? Anyone knows and can advise ? Thanks
Btw, using mdj hd4.6 w/ wp7. 2.25 radio and magldr 1.12. thanks !!!

Hello guys.
I have a HTC HD2 running Windows Phone 7 (on MagLdr 1.2).
I want to DualBoot Android AND WPH. Ive watched a tut on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTHRAUHZHlo
I did exactly the same and after that i took this Android DesireHD Built: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881937
It worked fine but android said, that there isnt a sd card in the device. Of course it is, cuz android boots from the sd card. When i remove my sd card, android freezes (of course). I tried to restart and i put the 512 MB data.img in the folder but there was the same problem again..
I tried it with an other card and i pushed the button "mount sd card"
and than it said "u can take out the sd card now" (or something like that)
Plz help me!
I am having the exact same problem. Have you found the problem/solution to it.
thanks.
you both update you magldr that should fix your issues.
so get newest radio, than flsh magldr 1.3
before you update make a complete backup!!
hope you both have the right partition layout on sd card.
(first partition must be fat32 second ext3 or ext4)
hope this helps.
for tut look at forums or pm me!!
Can someone describe the exact steps that are required to mount the SD card when the Android build is being run off the SD card using MAGLDR.

They are running Android from their SD card. It is not going to show a SD card being in the device because Android thinks the SD card is the device......

This will not help them at all, MAGLDR just serves as the bootloader for Android not the OS.
Allso you can not remove your SD card will booted into Android if you are using a SD card build it is running of the SD card not NAND.

So basically I cannot mount the SD card, no matter how it is formatted ?
I totally have this same problem. Neither WP7 or Droid will read the 16 GB card I'm using to run Droid. I think I'm using the DesireHD build also, maybe its that? I can probably see if changing it makes a difference.
I have the same problem. First time i installed WP7 and android, everything was working fine. Then i had to reset WP7 because it kept freezing, i followed the same steps again to dual boot with android and it booted fine but SD CARD is not mounted for some reason. I have tried 3 different android builds with same problem. Any help or tutorials?

This happened to me too with two SD cards. What I did was I run the Partition SD Card from AD Recovery. I forgot the partition layout, just find something that works for you. I was surprised that it has successfully created a partition...this erased everything so I needed to re-copy ROM files to SD card via Card Reader on my PC.
When I did it over, It finally worked. Am now running Sensation XL ROM.

Hi guys
I think my SD card is not compatible, tho, the installation went trough fine.
When i check device free space, it only provides the ROM space, ie 178MB, altho my card is 2 GB.
I want to buy a new 4GB card.
Can i just then run MADLR again, and reflash the same ROM?
I dont want to brick my device.
Thanks alot!
This is normal, WP7 creates a partition on the SD card which uses all the card except approx. 200mb. If you go to "Settings" and "About" you will see the Memory Card size reported, which should be approx. 1.8GB
To insert a new SD card:
1. With old SD card inserted "reset" the device and boot into MAGLDR by holding down the "END" key as soon as your device starts to reboot
2. When MAGDLR has loaded insert the new SD card
3. Select "Boot WPH" from the MAGLDR menu and the device will reset itself up using the new mem. card.

Other things when i want to start Android, in magldr service when i select ad sd dir it's will be back to home screen.
Magldr possibly have a bug with my card ? or it's my sd card it's wrong ?
I've magldr 1.13 and Xboxmod WP7 rom.
Thks for reply and sorry to my bad english.

Hi
If the sd-card is in device you must start windows phone 7 and make reset,
Settings,Info,Reset your device.
After that windows phone 7 write a 200 mb 16 bit partition on sd.
You can only see it in partition managers. There you can see although an unformatted partition. This is the windows 7 partition.
Follow this tutorial here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944288
to install both operating system on your card .
That works for me and i have the 16 GB Kingston too.

Thanks to your reply.
But i use this tutorial for my dual boot.
that is my procedure :
- Going to setting, about and reset my phone
- Plug my SD Card to my device
- WP7 boot in english mod without tell me setting operation
To have 200Mb fat16 and the rest of SD card in unformated partion i will plug my SD card after Magldr boot screen.
If i plug after i've the setting operation what i request before and when i go to setting, about i see 15,...GB
When i plug my SD card to my computer i see 200Mb fat16 partition and unformatted partition.
If i plug my SD card before Magldr boot screen, when i go to setting about i see 15.14Mb total and 10Mb ok...

Edit :
I've also an 2Gb SD card (so little for dual boot) and i've no prblm for WP7 boot. SD card can be already plug to my HD2 device and i can setting my hd2 as i want.
In setting, about i see all my SD card
Total : 1.64Go
Dispo : 1.52Go

I formatted the SD Card on my HTC HD2 to 2 partitions FAT32 and the other for Windows phone 7. So I have a MagLdr to allow dual boot between Windows phone 7 and Android. When I boot into Android (SD/Magldr) it does not detect SD Card. All applications which use SD Card dont work as they complain "Insert SD Card". I tried to reformat the card using Easeus (also tried it with windows) but no luck.
The mount SD Card option on my phone is greyed out so could not do that either.
This is a 16 GB Sandisk micro SD Card. I tried various Android version but no luck. Any idea how to fix this problem . Please help.
Format it while its in your phone and dont partition it
and recheck if the application work
The Format option is also grayed out as it does not detect SD Card. I wonder if this is a problem as I am loading Android from SD Card (using Magldr).
