Exactly. Sense. The new black UI is the only change that 99% of people would notice... so if its covered up by sense then there's really no reason for getting gingerbread besides the fact that you've got the latest update. Just go CM7. ^_^

And the HTC Wildfire is on the update list for 2.3

How do you know HTC Wildfire is on the updatelist for gingerbread?
The wildfire is never going to get official gingerbread. you can root and install a custom rom like jacobs one.

Are you sure? If so, HTC really upset me!
HTC is gonna income the same old sh#t, the wildfire is too slow. The fact is that 2.3 does not have different system requirements than 2.2, from what I know.
Maybe they'll surprise us.....

That depends on what HTC will put in gingerbread, i.e. the new ultra-super-l33t Sense, which would require hi-res screen and 1GHz CPU to work fine..
Lol, before froyo was released , there was a million question bout its release date. Now that its out, there's a million question whether it can be rooted or not.

may be a dumb questions, but can another ROM be flashed over the updated GB ROM? for instance, if i flashed the GB ROM, can I flash MikShift over it? or will that just take me back to 2.2 with MikShift?

It will take you back to Froyo 2.2.
Mikshift is a 2.2 Sense based rom.
And This is 2.3.3 Gingerbread

i installed the new leaked rom and it worked great for me, i haven't had any problems with it and yes i also flashed the new radio........did anyone notice the kingdom port is almost done, i can't wait its gonna be a sweet rom

To install the 3.0 Lockscreen you need to be on MikShifted G (http://www.themikmik.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=178&t=940)
After you are on that rom and have it all set up how you like it, have Titanium Backup installed and then follow the instructions on this post (from me) (http://www.themikmik.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=11143#p11143)

Yeah as 3xeno said there is only one and it's not complete, I tried it and it was pretty useless as SN everyday rom. Try wildpuzzle (its 2.2) but it's a very good sense rom

well the MT4G already has an official 2.3 gingerbread update, but I doubt we'll be seeing sense 3.0 as an official UI. t-mobile uses a modified version called MySense on the mytouch, so at the very most we might be able to get an official update to look like the doubleshot (MyTouch 4G Slide), but I doubt it

yes, you can go to a local t-mobile store and they can hook you up there or you can download the update from the development section and flash it in fastboot. Ill try to find the link...

In all honesty, I think that's it for our phones for official updates. The GB 2.3.4 is most likely the last one. This phone is about to hit it's end of life cycle, especially with the new line of myTouch's coming out in a month or so.
And even if we did get an update, which I know we won't, Sense 3.0 is highly unlikely. That firmware is only coming out to dual core phones at the very least. So I think your best bet would be to root and then subsequently install Sense 3.0 via Virtual Unity.

Ginger 2.3.4 S=Off No Root
So I did the steps for the update and when I restart the phone I see that it found it and its checking it but after that way do I do...I pick the factory reset I think that's what its called..but after that everything is the same...so I need help I don't know if I'm doing it right or leaving a step out
The mytouch already has OS 2.3.5 and sense 3.5 but that's only if your rooted.

it also has 2.3.7 if you flash the latest nightlies of cm7 (no sense 3.5 though, that's another rom :X)
