I use Android manager WiFi and if i try to backup my phone to pc the phone crashes and i have to take battery out to boot again. I also on reboot get error force close on adw launcher.
Anyone got any suggestions ie: how do you remove / uninstall ADW Launcher so i can be sure that its that and not something else.
Thanks

i have FroyoStone Series - V1][Kernel: manusfreedom 2.6.32.9 #74]
with chunky rom
and dual boot app
everything was fine untill the battery died
i plugged the phone in and tried to start android
loaded launcher pro and few apps crashed
i restarted and tried to load regular launcher but it kept crashing
now i load android and it boots up to lock screen
after that the loader app freezes and shuts down right away
i cant find where to reset the setting for it to let me choose the launcher pro again.
These instructions are assuming you can get to the settings menu. Go into settings -> applications -> manage applications choose launcher pro -> tap clear defaults-> tap clear data-> press home then it should ask you weather you would like to use launcher or launcher pro.
p.s. (these instructions were given from memory so they might be slightly off)
nope cant even go to settings. it crashes instantly after unlock screen.
Just backup the data.img file and replace the Android folder again.
I had this occur to me once before... couldn't do anything about it.

Hello,
i have some problems with my X10. Whenever i start Mediascape and browse some pictures the phone gets slower and slower. Additionally, the battery temperature is going up over time, so that the phone is really warm.
After taking a look into Android System Info and some testing i could determine the cause of this problem.
There are two processes of android.process.acore (package: adw.launcher or go.launcher, see later) that are running with 100% CPU Usage. After killing (restarting) one of both processes the other one disappears, and cpu usage goes back to normal. But if mediascape is launched again, the same issue occurs.
After more testing i found, that this only happens if i use another launcher and not the original one from SE. If i use the SE launcher (and freeze the 3rd-party via titanium) the problem does not occur.
First, i thought that i maybe have killed to much of the bloatware, so i restored the original firmware via SEUS and tried again - with no success, the issue persists furthermore. No original App were removed, and no old configuration was used, only defaults.
My Steps with after restoring the original firmware.
- root with RATC, manually via linux and adb
- entered google account to check in the market
- updated market, facebook, and google maps
- downloaded busybox, xrecovery and titanium backup pro
- installed the jit2-enabler from the forums and enabled it via xrecovery (dalvik cache cleared)
- restored
- clean install of ADW.Launcher
=> testing, problem occurs again (process: android.process.acore with package adw.launcher at 100% after using mediascape)
- removed ADW.Launcher and installed Go! Launcher
=> testing, problem occurs again (process: android.process.acore with package adw.launcher at 100% after using mediascape)
- removed Go! Launcher and proceeded to xda-devs in search for some help
Can this be a issue caused by JIT2 ?
Any ideas, what can i do now ?
I Hate the original launcher, i would like to stay with Go! or ADW. Mediascape can not be uninstalled without problems or loss of functions afaik.
Please post in correct forum
hello ,
can somebody please help ..I am using CM7 AmeriCanAndroid 051211 build and it happened may be due to my fault that i used the old data.img from the previous version. i set my launcher pro as default and it started crashing . I need to set it back to AWD Laucher so that i can atleast get the options to work on the problem.
The launcher pro is crashing but I am sure AWD launcher will work fine .. Please let me know a way to either go the the settings menu or any way where i can atleast start my phone.
download this
install it with droid exploer
press your home buttom
select awd
update it.
done.
thank-you much...
for future reference when something like this happens, you go into settings/applications/manage applications and search for the app you set to default, or the launcher app, open it and clear defaults, then in your case you press the home button and it will ask you again which launcher you want to use, and you could've selected AWD launcher.
so what if you can't access the phon's settings sincs everything just keeps crashing?
as a last ditch, you can boot to recovery and format the data partition. that has all of your settings so, you will have to go through the first run setup, but that should fix your problem if it's just a setting issue.
good luck.
This is in response to the thread "[request]Possible to get kindle default reader on rooted Fire?" in the Dev area which I can't post to, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437047. I fully agree with darkstar765 who wrote:
"One of the main reasons i continue flashing back to the stock rom is because of the awful reader apps. Is it possible to get the stock reader flashed over?"
Running the stock rom with GO Launcher I found that in order to run the reader app I really needed to start the stock launcher. If you just tap on the Amazon Kindle app nothing happens. If you start the launcher you can select "Books" and it will run the reader app.
With that in mind I restored the stock rom and used Ti to backup the Amazon Kindle app, the Launcher app and a few other system apps that looked like they might be useful. Then I went back to cm7 and started restoring.
First I just restored the Amazon Kindle app. It was backed up as another version of the market reader of the same name. I restored the one I backed up from stock rom and tried running it. As expected, nothing happened.
Then I restored the stock Launcher. It FCs immediately and bounces me back to ADW launcher. It closes so fast I can't read the message that pops up, so I don't know if it's trying to tell me anything useful.
At this point I'm pretty much out of my depth and just trying stuff. I don't know what to try backing up and restoring next. Just for grins I tried restoring "System Browser Provider" but it didn't make any difference. Next I tried restoring the Silk browser. Now the FC pop up stays on screen! It says: "Sorry! The application Browser (process com.amazon.cloud9) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. [Force close]"
Update: There are actually two FCs back tho back. The first one says application Launcher has stopped. It just flashes for a moment and then is replaced by the Browser FC message.
Still missing something. Anyone have any suggestions as to what apps to try restoring from stock rom? Is it even possible to do this via Ti backup?
Thanks
Well, thanks for the post with what you have found .
I think, generally speaking, I might like the stock launcher, but as it turns out, you get better use of screen space out of the android market version of the reader. I asked a friend of mine, C0deMaver1ck around here, and he mentioned he didn't think it was possible to port the launcher over due to its use of proprietary frameworks. Can't think of anyway I'd go about it, but maybe someone else will know better.
Hey there i downloaded ICS launcher today and i changed some stuff in it then i went back to home screen and i was getting force close every second i cant even uninstall it i cant unlock the device cant do anything at all plz how do i uninstall this trash ?? and what other good fast launcher should i use , thanks in advance.
Well you can wipe data. Or delete the apk of the launcher in /data/app with adb, search how uninstall apps via adb for more info
Try the Go Launcher, is very smooth and support ICS!
Good luck!
