Virtual Keyboard in flash? - Atrix 4G General

Just a random, probably dumb question, is there any way to get a virtual keyboard working in flash? Flash runs very nicely on this and i wanted to play some guys that did require a keyboard.

possible mouse support?

according to these screenshots, http://www.android-x86.org/screenshot , from the android x86 project, android has been made to work with a mouse. it has also been made to work with a bluetooth keyboard. is it possible that maybe we will someday have bluetooth mouse support? im thinking Quake 3, people. thatll be awesome.
WHAT?! i ran the hidd script with my mouses mac address and it worked. holllyyy ****. does anyone know if theres a way to edit settings, like sensitivity, and possibly rotate the input? because when the screen is in landscape, for games such as quake 3 for instance, the input still works as if it was in portrait. or at least show the cursor?

Gamepad on Adam?

Heya! I just had a reather interesting idea. Would it be possible to use a HID-Compatible Gamepad like a Logitech PS2-Clonepad on the Adam? For example to use it together with an Emulator? That would make for a quite neat non-touch gaming experience.
The problem with that would probably be finding a gamepad that supports HID. Works perfectly with my Bluetooth HID keyboard though...
Thanks to the hard work of Meister_li, I can say that there /is/ a usb gamepad emulator IME for android.
Unfortunately, I do not currently have a HID gamepad to test it with, but you can see the thread I started requesting help getting the app. It has the APK attached.

[REQ] Some help with QEMU, DOS and hardware keyboard needed

Hello,
this might sound strange, but I need plain escape and alt keys on my hardware keyboard. The reason for that is the QEMU emulator. After testing it's android port with my DOS image (with a nice collection of games included inside) I found out that arrow keys work perfectly and games are stable, but I need to map hardware keys as alt and escape or create on-screen keyboard for QEMU (the way Windows Mobile port has). I would appreciate any help as I do not have any experience in this sphere. I couldn't donate much, but I could share my DOS image with any shareware games required other members
Hey try looking online for a android softkeyboard that has those keys or try the market and search keyboard and see what you can find but other than that i dont know what else to tell ya but i was wondering if you could post the images and eluminater here so i could try?
Thanks

how to Force Portrait SW Keyboard?

Hello,
I'd like to use software virtual keyboard in portrait mode, maybe pressing a combination or whatever... Any ideas?
I read http://www.droidforums.net/forum/mo...-way-force-screen-keyboard-portrait-mode.html
No intelligent answers.
In my case pocketcloud remote desktop does not get numbers to the remote session.
Plus one hand is easier while driving
Any hints?
smart keyboard pro
This got me a little further
Smart Keyboard got me one step closer to what jojomi is trying to do, thanks Rafeee2.
Smart Keyboard is the first aftermarket keyboard that has worked for me at all on my Droid Pro.
It will display just fine in landscape mode after editing some of the advanced settings.
However, I still can't get it to come up in portrait mode which would be nice...
Yes, I know it has a portrait physical keyboard but, depending on the situation you are in, it would be nice to have the option of an on screen keyboard as well.
rdp 2x client w/ sw keyboard and Free Working Keyboard
Hello and thanks for your replies.
I tried smart keyboard but it does not work portrait mode.. how did you do the test? Enable it as default and it does not show up like the multitouch from motorola.
What are you trying to do PEZ Dispenser?
Anyway with RDP I found a midwise solution: 2x client has a great software keyboard, alas not what I wish to use on such a small screen while on rdp and others have only hw working
Cheers!
Just adding that the app from ericom and AnRdp work, both differently with rdp on droid pro. Disappointed by wyse pocketcloud pro I bought not working on this phone
Well it would be nice to type with one hand and that is a little difficult with the pro hardware keyboard.
Ultimately I would like to get swype working in protrait mode but I will settle for it just working in landscape mode.
Smart Keyboard is super useful for use in the terminal emulator and when using vnc.
Swype would be ideal for sms so it would be great to have that working as well.
I will investigate RDP and 2x Client's app.

I find the hardware keyboard to be great for one-handed typing. Swype might be a little faster for that, but I'd get frustrated with the small screen size and the increased errors it would bring about.
One would think there would be a relatively simple way to do this, but I guess Motorola figured that people who buy this phone are doing so for the hardware keyboard, so they left out any straightforward settings for it.

Dosbox Turbo - Mapping Triggers and Thumbsticks

Hi all,
This thread probably won't get much traction, but I'm pretty sure the developer for DosTurbo isn't very active anymore.
There are really two separate issues here:
1) The analog triggers are not mappable. The in-app mapper does not register them at all. I dug around quite a bit on this, and if I'm not mistaken, DosBox Turbo is really just an android port of Dosbox with some added features. Dosbox itself has it OWN mapper. Has anyone had success getting the triggers to work?
2) The thumbsticks. Now I don't know why the developer restricted the mapping here, but here are the options:
a) map a thumbstick to keyboard keys (like up, down, left, right)
b) map one thumbstick to mouse control, the other to "joystick"
You can only pick either a or b. No combination of both allowed. The problem with this is that I want one thumbstick to map to up, down, left, right and the other to map to the mouse control. You'd think (b) would work, but games without joystick support do not recognize the "joystick" so I'm stuck using the d-pad if I want mouse control on the thumbstick.
FYI, I'm trying to setup the controls of a modern shooter with Duke Nukem 3D. I am very close. The dpad control movements, the right thumbstick controls mouselook, triggers do nothing. I just want the left thumbstick to work like the dpad, and the triggers to work.
If anyone has any advice, please let me know. Like so much in the Android emulation world, things get so very close to perfect without ever reaching it.
Did you tried magic dosbox?

That was actually the first emulator I tried for Dos (free version). I found it confusing because at the time I knew nothing about Dosbox. Anyway, last night I bought the full version and yes, the controller mapping is 100% compatible with the Shield Controller. Thanks!
Also it seems the developer for Magic DosBox is active, unlike all the other Dosbox ports. The UI is kind of weird... perhaps that's why I was so confused. Runecrafting and all these other references to fantasy RPGs is an unnecessary layer to the learning curve. That said, the help documentation inside the app itself is quite good.
Actually im interested as well.. can you make make a small guide, link or something for this?
I only found things in russian..
