Does unrevoked work on 2.2 - HTC Aria General

Well can you root a 2.2 aria.. or do you need to downgrade (might root someone's aria)... and if you need to downgrade a link would be really good
Sent from my HTC Vision

unrEVOked does not work with the 2.2 update on the Aria as of yet. And I am not sure (but fairly sure) that a downgrade has not been achieved.

K thanks.....

Root hboot 1.01.0001

Hi,
Is there a way of rooting a wildfire with hboot 1.01.0001?
Downgrate... goldcard... any method!
No
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
Short Answer is NO , s0rry to be the bearer of bad news , lolz gonna have to wait till someone figures it out , thats why i never flash an RUU or OTA upgrade unless i KNOW what its goin to do
this is soo funny, people wait to get official froyo, then they want to root. instead they could have rooted before and get a custom froyo rom anyway.
And there were many warnings not to update to the OTA or RUU unless a newer method came out.
Bad luck guys

Rooting HTC Wildfire (firmware too new ???)
Hi,
I have the same update
H BOOT-1.01.0001
NOV.17.2010
I manage to install usb driver via Speedy0339
ONLY THAT WAY I MANAGE TO INSTALL H BOOT USB driver!!!
Then I run UNREVOED3
When I run UNREVOED3 process starts:
1. installs unrevoed 3 and reboot phone,
2. Then he starts rooting a.......and then :::::::::::::
3. SEE attached file [Error: Failed to get root. Is your firmware too new? ]
Root with Unrevoked
Unrevoked as we speak are trying to root the new Froyo update for the wildfire.
as the change log says.
v3.31:
Backed ClockworkMod down to 2.x series on EVO 4G; now 2.6.0.1.
Still has new kernel. Still has WiMAX key backup. Now supports amend scripting again.
ROM authors: fix your ROMs! Support will go away again in 3.x.x.x: Koush has a good thread explaining the reason why.
Improved compatibility with Android 2.1 (fixes “am reported error starting service”).
Increased root timing window (fixes “failed to get root” on supported devices).
v3.3:
Fix for latest EVO 4G OTA (3.70.651.1) and EVO 4Gs with new versions of HBOOT (2.02 and 2.10).
Switched exploits for all platforms; hopefully more reliable than rageagainstthecage
Updated ClockworkMod, with plenty of new features:
3.0.0.2 for EVO 4G, which has a new kernel (for better WiMAX safety), and supports WiMAX key backup
2.5.1.2 for Incredible, which supports SLCD
No update for Wildfire yet; sorry. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Only Snow Leopard is supported in the OS X build.
No update for Wildfire yet; sorry
maybe in the next update they seam to update pretty quick its just a waiting game now.

If you've read the thread, you would know that there is no way to root that HBOOT version. Unrevoked 3 currently only works on the stock HBOOT.

Solution for downgrade is not working. At least, untill a temp root exploit will be found for this new hboot.

I just recently bought my Wildfire, Never thought of rooting it till i found HBoot by mistake was just messing around i am also on HBoot-1.01.0001 like its said so many times on here root can't be done, i was messing with that z4root app on it and on temp it doesn't error out only on perm it does. So does this mean the temp root works ?
If so is there anyway you could flash with a temp root please bare with me i am a Linux person and the Andriod OS is Linux in a sense but Andriod is new to me and as such this might sound noobish.

LOL.
Anyway, find someone with an XTC Clip, get your phone S-OFF, then downgrade and root. There is no software method as of now, so, no use asking for 'alternate' methods.
Secondly, as for your unlock method, don't think there is any method that works on Wildfire yet. (Will that change after S-OFF dont really know, since, here, there is no concept of 'Simlocked' phones). The only method I know of is buying an unlock code.
thanks man..i'll try something... so far i LOVE my htc
i'm just waiting for 2.3 to come out to root my phone and insert custom room

Rooting wildfire

Hi app can you tell me if wildfire on 2.2.1 can be rooted ?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Yes, NO it can not, if you used like 2 minutes reading the forum you would already know that since HTC upgraded hboot from 0.8 to 1.01 noone has been able to root it yet, unless they use XTC Clip to set wildfire s-off, then degrade it to eclair that's the android 2.1. Then it can be rooted as far as I understand it, but if you don't know anyone with the XTC clip then welcome in the que to the rest of us waiting for a software solution, that unrevoked is working on......
As question has been answered closing thread

[Q] I don't get root on my HTC Aria

Hi, I already used a lot of ways to get root on my HTC Aria but nothing.
When I try with unrevoked I take the following message: "Error: Failed to get root. Is your firmware too new?" in the final of the process, I already tested on Windows and Linux and I don't know what I can do more.
HTC Aria AT&T - Android 2.2.2
Someone have an ideia?
cant root official 2.2.2
There's no known way to root the Aria once it has the 2.2.2 update installed. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about this.
Did you phone come with 2.2.2 out of the box? Did you update it? Did the store update it for you?
I updated to 2.2.2 using the HTC Aria Update.
My wife has a HTC Aria with 2.1. Do you know if I can get root with this version?

Yes, Unrevoked will work on the Aria with 2.1 on it. That's the best way to root the Aria.
If it's important to you to be able to root both phones, you might consider taking it back to the store and seeing if they will exchange it for one without the update installed.
Can I make the downgrade to 2.1?

Nope, that phone is now unrootable, period. (Well, actually it's possible if you sent it to someone who has special hardware, but not something you could do on your own.)
Do you know if the next version of unrevoked will support 2.2.2?
No.but attn1 has a found a hardware solution to root and s-off the updated firmware.look at the 2.2 rooting thread.

How to root my phone

Easiest way to root a mytouch 4g with 2.3.4 I just did the over the air update.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
There is no easy way if you did the OTA update. There's no currently known way to root the mt4g if you went up to 2.3.4.
You'll have to downgrade back to Froyo if you want to get root, and then you can upgrade to a different rom with gingerbread, but it won't be the stock rom.
I'm not sure if you can downgrade if you didn't have root before either, but I think there might be. I'll post the link up in a bit if I can find it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178912
Yeah, it's not easy, but if you didn't have root access before you upgraded this is about all you can do.
Bump
Hope we can get some ppl on this mine was rooted before update after store update s is off still but visionary loads black screen

Donate to the root devs?
So WHO does work on these things, such as finding a way to root 2.3.4? I suppose if a bunch of Glacier owners pitch in a few bones, it might result in us getting a root solution sooner. That is, for those who don't want to downgrade. I'd rather keep the stock ROM. If I wanted to donate, where to go?
pd
There is a rooted version of the stock ROM. You just have to downgrade to get rooted.
