hello khaled ~ i live in middle east [Dubai] and my sony ericsson X10i which was bght in Dubai also did not have Market application installed ~ Now the Problem is Etisalat and Google have a really bad communication inbetween them .
In Middle East as many of the people know ,The "Muslim Society" prohibits a whole lot of things and consider them as " unfit" and "insecure"
While Google Market is not a Big Problem ~ it is a very secure User-Google relationship i think and "Etisalat" [telecom provider ] wants a hand in almost everything they can ~ [I frankly dont understand why they need to monitor every single thing under their network ~ retards!!]
just think of this as something similiar to the "Black berry " issue
while we who live in dubai may get an update in future to install market and make it legal ,for now we dont have any official information from etisalat about this issue .....
while at the same time others around me who use other android mobiles say me that their mobile has market in it ~ iam sure many dont have it .....
SOLUTIONS:
their are various solutions for this problem
1.Their is a substitute for Market an application known as " Swype " or also known as " sam" ~ now this application provides various apps that are in market ~ while its database is very small compared to that of the Market
2. Download Android Apps directly from official websites
3. Download Android Apps from Torrents and install it [for how to install if any one had problems ~ message me i can give a small tip )
4. The final and the most effective method is "Flashing" ., you can flash you mobile's firmware to an another countrie's firmware ~ which supports Market ~
while you wont be able to access paid applications in market ~ you will be able to access a huge load of Free apps!!!!!
for flashing since i dont know what android phone you are using ~ all i can say is " google " " flash [your phone] with U.S. firmware " lol
or you can just browse XDA forums for it ~
hoping that my post helped you or others atleast a little
yeaaaaaaah you are really all right
thanQ mr for ur help
and i mean that is flash [your phone] with U.S. firmware
FLASH
i downloaded le U.S firmware yeaterday
and nw i want the way to flash my phone

what are you talking about? swype is a keyboard used on Android phones and Sam is a app store for SAMSUNG phones. Torrents can lead to viruses. And firmware is nowhere close to the same thing as apps. Flashing is for custom roms and themes and i dont suggest flashing firmware that is not made for your phone because your phone WILL get bricked (unusable)

Since when is SAM for Samsung phones specifically? It stands for SlideME Application Manager - it contains apps for the Android OS. It's just a Market alternative.
And as far as saying that flashing anything other than stock firmware WILL brick your phone isn't entirely true (you can't just say it carte blanche(sp?)). Granted, be very careful when flashing anything to your phone. Just do your homework. There are plenty of people that have successfully used firmware from a similar phone (with tweaks obviously). In this regard, try to find others in your situation. Someone else may have already solved the problem for you. Just wanted to clear this up. Good luck with your research and one last bit of advice about flashing - if you have any doubts, don't do it.
thanQ you alot
well i nw updating my phone as usa by SEUS , when the update be installed in my phonei will find the market
i solve it i changed the nummber in Defult.pro by root exeplorar to other countery so i download software that have market
guys need a quick help pls, I do not seems to able to search some apps on my DHD for e.g "imediashare"
while scanning the cr code also do not return the searched app on my market
iMediaShare mobile app for Android :: iMediaShare
but the same is able to be searched on my friend's desire z bought from UK
mine is indian DHD, can anyone who bought their DHD in india try to search this app and scan the cr cde in the link I gave and let me know if u are able to search it pls
and any reason why I am not able to search it...
Got the same problem. Seems that some operator sw versions are not "signed" or registered at Googles database. So some can "see" all apps and some not.
Try to install a free sw version or rom version. Maybe that helps...
what you mean by "free sw version or rom version"
No operator version. try 1.XX.405.X e.g.
mine is an unlocked DHD
What sw do you have on ur DHD?
With ulocked u mean unbranded?
even more frustrating...an app called "mobiesta" which is an indian app, even this is not getting searched in my DHD but same is searched from UK Desire Z
common who can explain this nonsense
I tried to find with my DHD the mentioned apps - with no succes.
But I figured that out before, that not all apps are visible for everyone...
The reason can be that there are different ROM versions and/or the developers has released the app with some country restrictions. E.G. only for Europe, or only for Germany Autria and Switzerland.
Thats why I asked for your ROM Version. If it is a ROM made for a Indian Carrier the DHD goes as an Indian-DHD to the market. The DZ has a UK ROm or a international ROM and is lockes in as a UK or International-DHD and will get other hits when searching the market...
The solution will be either to download the app via the DZ to your PC and install those apps than on your DHD (than you will have no update support) or to flash a UK or international ROM. Same country/provider version like on the mentioned DZ.
mine is indian rom version
can u tell me how to to download the app via the DZ to your PC and install those apps than on your DHD ?
You can try to copy the .apk file and run ist on your dhd in the same folder e.g.
Or try to download it with your pc and to copy it to your dhd...
or go to mobiesta website http://ld2.ciol.com/Gadgets/Applications/Mobiesta/1485/0/102707/Mobiesta.aspx
and follow their instructions...

I wanted to know if I install the app successfully in Desire Z via android market then how can I get its apk from Desire Z..in other words I wanted to know in which location apk is stored for installed applications in system folder ?
Ok...
I ve got no clue where in the DZ file system this .apk file is located.
Maybe you can find this out with a file explorer like astro or so...
sorry no idea...
did u search the DZ?
Have you tried market enabler?

hi
i have sony ericsson Xperia X10 i firmware version 2.1 update 1 base version 2.1.54
purchased from middle east it didnt came up with android market place found the market place application here on XDA installed it but when ever try to download any application from there it crashes and says '' the application market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly please try again
can any one help me with this ?
what do i have to do to make the android marketplace working ?
Install the old one first, then make a login
After that, you can install new market without prob.
Try this one. I never do it, but it should work.

I bought my phone to from ME, what i did was flashed my firmware to a generic one that can be found on the development site ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746 ). If you do need to get your phone repaired for some reason just use PC companion to flash it back to the original one, and i think the service center wont void your warranty, i never had a problem with mine yet ( bought it june 2010).
If the reply was of any use, pls click on the thanks button.
Good day guys!
I have this LG GT540(rooted to 2.3.7 cynogenmod 7 ROM by mur4ik) and have been used for more than a year and a months. I bought this unit here in the PHILIPPINES. My question is, can I use this phone in CANADA without undergoing with what they called an "OPEN-LINE" hardware solutions there, so that I could use any network there(SIM CARD) and would fit with the network systems in CANADA?
btw, I have a 2.3.7 cynogenmod 7 ROM and its good! thou it has a few lags and frequent restarts, whats the most stable and great Custom ROM for this unit for today?
Thanks for your responses! I'll Appreciate!
Should be able to, go do some research on that network and this phones radios. I dont think canada has such strict lock down of phones compared to the USA. I think the most important thing is to make sure the phone is unlocked (make sure its not carrier locked im sure its not) if its not locked then its good to go the SDSL and Tejas rebuild of Pcfighter .32 kernel rom is also good! Well they are all better then the one you are using and im sure of that.
Thanks for the help bs828!
Well, I bought this unit in a store branch here at the mall and I'm sure its not locked with the specific carrier or networks here and abroad. They say its Quadband, great thing!
I'm worried cause its in the NEW ROM,which is the 2.3.7 cynogenmod 7, NOT in the Original state of ROM in LG Platform, that would hinder or loose of a Quadband factor in this unit.. hope'll its not
na not likely

A sure way to download Google Maps is to use "Apk Downloader" and download Google Maps apk on your PC then install it on your phone (with root explorer or other file manager). Apk downloader and instructions are available at http://codekiem.com/2012/02/24/apk-downloader/
