Never mind , figure out the problem, after I renamed it, it could be a file length problem.

i was thinking of a getting a shift as i am desperate to be able to play p2p streams via my hsdpa connection , so i can watch LIVE football on my AMEO from sopcast and other p2p streaming tv progs.
This morning I finally CRACKED it! and am now watching
Full screen SOPCAST TV on my AMEO
This means I can watch literally EVERY FOOTBALL match ANYWHERE on my AMEO for FREE!
this may be old news but im amazed.
if you want to know how i will post details
watching football for a bit to get it work is cooooooool...
tell me more!!!!!
dont beat around the bush c'mon hit us with the details!
okay heres how its done
First u must have an unlimited HSDPA account or you are gonna spend loads of dosh
progs needed for full control fom anywhere
Logmein - free version (pc remote control app)
VLC player (pc app)
Sopcast 1.1.2 (pc App)
TCPMP 0.81 (its the only version that plays video great for me, u may prefer other versions)
obviously you need BB connection on your home pc
1. install logmein and create an account you can then log into your pc remotely (change resolution to 640X480)
and you can see the whole of your screen on your athena/ameo.htc7500 etc
install all of the above apps
2.In your Ameo make sure that TCPMP is your choice for all video types i.e. wmv playback etc so it auto runs any video
3. open media player , select open URL and under network options select wifi/Lan (1.0mbps or faster) and tick detect connection speed and then close
4. start sopcast on your pc and get a channel going in the standalone player not the web based player
5.start VLC
6. once the channel has started right click on the player screen and select properties
7. highlight and copy the location http://xxxxxxxxxx etc
8. click File- open network stream on vlc player
9.select HTTP/HHTPS/FTP/MMS and paste the location into the URL box
10. the stream should now start to play in vlc (prob quicker than sopcast!)
11.click file again on VLC and select WIZARD
12. make sure stream to network is slected and click next
13.select Existing play item and highlight the location name in the box and click next
14.Select HTTP and leave the box below blank press next
15.Leave on ASF and click next
16. type 1 or 2 or leave blank it may or may not matter
17.now click finish
VLC player should shrink and in the bottom box it should have a timer that doesnt move and say transcoding
click view and check messages if its BLANK your in business.
Now open up internet explorer in your ameo
and type
mms://your pc's ip address:8080 press go
TCPMP player should automatically start and start playing the stream.
If you are in portrait mode when you hear some sound press the button to change to landscape and TCPMP should be playing back whatever you Channel you selected.
VOILA!
Logmein like all remote software allows you to set this all up from your PC remotely
have fun FOOTY HERE I COME!!
Can anyone confirm that this works?
Also, is it better/worse than a Slinbox type config, aside from the advantage of not requiring a separate cable/tv box?

An easier way to do this is (taken from the Orb website not my work and it works great is)
I managed to get SopCast and pplive streaming on my cell through Orb. It's probably similar with the other p2p streaming softwares.
'Here's how to do it:
1. Open SopCast on a channel.
2. Add the Custom Channel in Orb. For that, go the the TV application, select the Internet TV/favorite channels menu, and click the Add Custom action next to the play button. Enter SopCast for the name and http://127.0.0.1:8902/tv.asf for the URL (this URL may be different for you if you changed the default ports options in SopCast)
3. You can now stream this channel via Orb from the Internet TV menu.
With pplive, the URL to add depends on the channel you select, to find it, click on the "open in external Windows Media Player icon" once the channel play, and look at the URL of the playing item, it will look like http://127.0.0.1:8888 '
it does pause now and then but you can get a good long watch much of the time depending on the channel
this is down to the way TCPMP player handles streams more than the ORB software
i can stream this while on evdo, but not on wifi, can i configure the wifi tho stream this?

should be the same, i have hsdpa and havent tried wifi so i cant say for sure , but why not?
might be to do with IP addresses, if u are at using wifi maybe your ip address is different
Question for spacecat, or anyone else who can help:
I have an ameo too, and have tried the two ways that you have mentioned of viewing sopcast i.e. through VLC and ORB. Have found the following:
1) via ORB: Managed to get the stream to the ameo displayed via TCPMP but the video was very choppy and frankly unwatchable (any particular settings I should be aware of?)
2) via VLC: Keep getting the error mms: protocol not supported (do I need a particular plugin for TCPMP?)
Which option gives better quality of steam?
Thanks in advance

you need the WM5 WMV9 codecs the WM6 codecs you currently have do not work properly !
basically unzip the attached files and bung em in your windows folder !
oh and if your stationary you can get away with your ORB server uploading at 320K or 400k max but 400 might have issues, if you are on the move (train for example) 160K is about your limit but experiment, and be mindful of your home broadbands max up speed, im on virgin 20Mb (down) so my max upload speed is 768K
I can't stream none of the video from youtube via htc streaming media.
Is there a fix for this? May be i installed one of the cert files wrong?
And what other sites does htc streaming media work on. I wish to test it
Hello –
What videos are you trying to stream?
I am one of the developer who worked on Avot mV which runs on most of Windows mobile 5.0 and newer phone with the idea of searching and playing any video from video sharing sites like YouTube, Google Videos, DailyMotion and other web locations.
Since you’re interested in streaming videos, you might want to download this application and provide the feedback to improve the product.
You can download the application by pointing the mobile browser to http://avotmv.com
Your program is very brilliant and its very efficient in some ways but needs work done for more control of its options.
Downloaded files should store on Card
I think its best for the program to download its video content onto the memory card instead of the internet explorer cache. I was wondering why my phone was becomng so slow and i kept getting these prompts about memory usage. I was looking in the folders for stuff to delete so that the phone wont be slowing down anymore, its was only till i realise it would have to be in the cache. A average user wouldn't have thought of this!
Stop & pause don't respond immediately while playing
I was trying to stop a video from streaming and it wasn't stopping, it took about 10 seconds to respond. I only had avotmv and PIE running.
Playing videos directly from youtube and other sites
It takes a while for the page to load on youtube and it never played. One time i heard the audio playing when i was using dailymotion.com but i never saw the video.
Suggestion: List the respective channels by their website name
I wish there was an option to list the respective channels by there respective name in the channels list. User would like to search by youtube alone instead of every video site. That option would be great for just searching one video site alone.
Its a gem in beta so far, if you wish me to keep working with you on feedback please leave a link to your forum and i'll appreicate it if you offer me a free copy of the software
The digital copy of movies that come with blu-ray movie can't be played on my HTC Diamond. I don't have itunes and tried to use windows media player to transfer it. However, it tells me that it can't transfer it to the device because it isn't supported by the device. I have also transferred the movie using active sync... still no luck. Any advice on how to make my diamond capable of playing the movies would be appriciated. FYI I have a Sprint diamond.
You may be able to use windows media encoder to convert the video.
It is impossible to play 1080p videos on any windows mobile device. It doesn't have the resolution or the power to run it.
@ deadshawn
He's not trying to play 1080p, he's trying to play the digital copy that comes with some Blu-Ray discs now.
@Beherrschen
I understand that Digitalcopy is pretty locked down to a few pieces of hardware - with Sony studios supporting PSP/PS3 combo and Fox going for the iPod/iTunes route for example.
They are still DRMd so that is probably your problem.

Thank you for your input. I have to admit that I am gonna have to look up DRMd.
Last night I transferred the movie using my diamond as a disk drive (getting around the bad reformatting that active sync does). I tried using the photo album player and the wmp but the photo album just showed a blank screen and did nothing while the wmp told me to upgrade my player to play protected content. It then took me to a link for upgrading wmp on windows xp... Don't really want to have to carry around my PSP all the time to watch the digital copies.
I was trying to do this same thing Friday night with the "Hitman" Blu-Ray digital copy.
It dloaded to my laptop (after using the license key), then I transferred it to my Touch Pro. Went to play it and it booted up the internet browser, went to a web site where I tried to put the license code in again and it wouldnt allow it.
I'm thinking I should have had the phone hooked up and in disk drive mode when I started the original transfer, installing to my SD card.
Be interested to hear if anyone gets this to work.....
Hey,
I can't figure this out. First thing I did was open allshare. I selected "play media from phone on another device." It couldn't find any devices. I then checked out my PS3. I tried going to the remote play settings to register my device.
It gives me a number to input during device registration... but this is where I get stuck. I don't know where to go from here. Allshare doesn't have an option to "register a device."
Someone has to know how to do this... seeing as EVERYONE says DLNA works with a PS3....
Not sure if this is gonna help, but the PS3 streams media through a particular protocol, (UPnP), I don't believe the epic streams media in that protocol. Which means that avi, or most movie files wont play, however, I have gotten the PS3 to play songs and pictures from my epic. On the flip side, I have a Dlink DNS323 streaming to my PS3, and I can access the files on the epic, but not the movie files, just photos and pics. Not sure if movies streaming from a third party app will stream correctly either. If I am not mistaken the DLNA protocol is typically used for newer televisions with wireless enabled devices, ie Samsung LED TVs.

Videos DO work
I did some more digging through the PS3 menus. Under video, you can select sources to play media from. My PC was listed seeing as it has a wireless connection. I figured I would try something. I opened allshare from my Epic and selected "play media from phone on another player." I selected about 5 divx AVI files (How I Met Your Mother.... yay) and then it started looking for devices. It couldn't find any, but I left the Epic on this screen.
Going back to the PS3, I went under video again and this time "samsung mobile" showed up. I selected that and my list of movies appeared. I selected one and it started to play on my TV. SWEET!
Unfortunately, 720p MKV files won't play on the PS3. They play on the Epic though beautifully.
I don't get the point really. If I'm already at home, why not just stream my TBytes of media from PC to xbox/ps3/wd tv live/whatever? Why go through the hassle of transferring media to phone and then trying to stream it back from phone?
If you already have a ps3 at home (and I assume you're at home trying to stream from Epic to ps3), why not just run ps3 media server on your PC (or playback if on a Mac) and stream all your media that way?

because now you dont have to be at your house to share a video.. as long as it isnt an .mkv file.
or you could record a video on your epic and then instantly stream it to your tv wirelessly.
is everyone gonna use this... nah not even 50% of people id say.. but its a nice lil option.. not sure if id prefer this over hdmi out or not.. its close.
anyone have any links to any DLNA converter boxes or TV's that possibly carry it. I could only find Sony's(expensive) with DLNA.

You dont have to select anything in all share just opening it will make it apear in the ps3 video list. Also maybe I am wrong but since the ps3 is doing the playing only media supported by it will work and mkv is not supported on the ps3.

What if you already have a ton of media on your epic, it does come with a 16 GB sd card. I personally have about 8-9 gigs of media on there right now and the ability to stream direct to anything is great.
was anybody able to get video shot on the epic out onto PS3? When i try this it says it's an invalid video format. Works great on samsung tv's w/ DLNA though.
I was able to get it to work, but not from the epic. I had to get it done through the pc for the video to stream. Everything else works fine through allshare

I have a Samsung Vibrant and this worked perfectly for me! Thank you!
Also, MKV's stream from my Mac to my PS3 just fine.. haven't tried streaming from Android to PS3 though..
I am trying to use VLC on my netbook (which I use as an NAS for a 2TB media hard drive) to stream movies and TV shows from the NAS to N7. I plan to ask this over on the VLC forums but I was hoping someone around here might have some advice as well. The problem is that I can't get any videos to play streaming from the NAS to the N7.
I have VLC set to "Web Interface" on the computer and my N7 can view the server using the apps VLC Direct Pro and VLC Stream & Convert (I'm not even sure which one I need to use)
With VLC Direct Pro:
If I change the "target" setting to the VLC icon, I can successfully stream local video on the N7 to the screen on my computer. However, if I switch the target to my N7 and try to play a sample file which is local on the computer, all I get is a black screen with no audio but the counter on the file counts upwards as if the video is playing.
With VLC S&C Free
in player mode: "stream to phone (http)"
using the same sample mkv file which is about a minute long, the file shows a black screen as if the video should be playing but no video shows, however I do get audio about 30 seconds of the way through the video.
in player mode: "stream to phone (rstp)"
after about 15 seconds of playback on black screen as before, I get audio and video! However the size of the video only uses about 1/4 of my N7's screen with no way to expand it to fullscreen.
Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? I don't know if I should be using VLC Direct Pro or VLC S&C, it seems like they both have the same functionality. Also, I've tried using my netbook as well as a more powerful dual-core laptop thinking that it might help convert the video on the fly. Isn't there a way to have my N7's quad core do some/all of the work?
