I flashed supermarket for dj05 to my phone, and I love the theme. However it seems to make my swype go into a force close loop when I boot.. and swype can not be used.. any sugestions?

Did the theme flash a different version of swype or a themed version of sywpe? You could grab a version of swype and replace the apk in the system/app folder and reboot to see if if fixed your issue. Someone might have packaged up a zip to flash through clockwork that might install as well. There is a thread here to install swype:

okay.. tried to get the swype beta.. deleted the swype app and lib.so.. and the bata says overwriting file them does not install..??
i cant find any links to a decent way to just get swype back on my phone..
irc channel seems to have changed or is down.
feeling liike smashing this thing..
ideas??
ok.. so i just went through hell getting this back working.. i got the black glass themed swype and lib from another page and pushed both to respective areas in system via root explorer.
i then used eoe app installer to install the blackglass apk.
however i dont believe this is a current swype for the dj05 rom im running..
anyone have a link to the most up to date stock file? please.. and thanks in advance
ok. so never mind.. its still broke.. it seems to not have a librarry. and wont let me pick a language..
ohh i hope someone with vast knowledge has the answer that will let my fingers slide gracefully across my glass screen once again
Anyone?. Please

just reflash your rom...and if you want the theme w/o swype...use 7zip to open the theme, and delete swype.apk from system/app...close and flash it

Hi, I've been using VillainROM 12 for a couple of weeks now, and recently flashed cronos froyo and saw that the lockscreen pattern had the background of my home screen.
Is there any way to port this feature to VillainROM 12 as I have reverted back to it now.
Thanks, Andy
Sent from my HTC Hero using the XDA mobile application
just had a quick look at the htclockscreen.apk from Villain12 but coudn't find any images which think could be for the background of the lock pattern screen. I thought it would be as simple as swapping it out with a transparent image.
however there is an xml called htc_keyguard_screen_lock.xml .
compare the one from cronos to the villain one with notepad++ (my lappy is in for repair, no notepad++ on this one sorry),... or compare the whole apk even.
..... Or beg someone to have a go,.... It cant be that much of a big job.
.... EDIT.... Or nandroid backup, then try just using the htclockscreen.apk from cronos on the villain ROM.
Thanks for the reply. I've had a look for htclockscreen.apk but can't find it,which directory is it is and is it in the system or the flashed zip?
Sent from my HTC Hero using the XDA mobile app
Yeah, so take it from the zip file that you would flash through the recovery.
the apk will be in system/app.
Thanks. I started making some progress, swapping some .apk files between the two ROMs but the went to cronos and did not find 'htclockscreen.apk' it is a vanillaROM so there probably isn't an htc app in it. Do you know what the .apk would be on a vanillaROM?
Thanks, Andy
Oh sh#t,.... How did I miss you were talking about CronosFroyo?... I'm sorry.
Ok, so its not as easy as swapping out the apks. Hmmmm,.... I'll try to have a look when I get home for you.
It might be a no go though.
Get onto the Villain site and ask them in the chat thing.....
Mate, had a look at Cronos Froyo and yeah you're right, nothing in system/apps looks anything like a lockscreen. I think its time you asked the experts........ PULSER.... Help this guy out!!!!
Didn't see this here, so here is the post.

Works great, just did it all on my phone while laying in bed. Took about two minutes.
is there a way 2 do it without that stupid launcher.. i dont like the set up
I love LauncherPro. It was one of the first things I installed.
Oh yeah, LauncherPro can't be beat. Make sure you shell out for the Plus version to get the widgets. The new Facebook widget with the latest update is very nice. Plus, the developer says he's got some more new features coming soon for Plus users.
here for people who don't want to register there
Entering searches in the URL bar of the browser still goes to Bing. Does anyone know if the browser.apk file can be replaced with one from another Galaxy s phone ?

Try and replace Browser.apk with one from another carrier and see what happens, because that's what we're talking about.
I'll give you a hint, it starts with a "B", and ends with r-i-c-k.

Bricked it last night and had restore with odin. Any other ideas?
I replaced my browser apk with one from some htc phone and from another galaxy phone. No brick, but didn't work. I replaced my original browser apk and Im fine again.
You guys need to be using a deodex'ed browser.apk and remove browser.apk and browser.odex from /system before you try using another browser.apk. I'm gonna start work on porting the vibrants system over to the fascinate tonight so we will see where that gets us.

Did you reboot? Mine bricked on reboot.
The discussion is almost pointless though, just rename it or install another browser. If you brick, re-flash with the ROM we have available now.

Here is the deodexed browser.apk from my Captivate deodexed ROM. No guarantee that it's going to work on your Fascinate, and I have no way to test without access to a Fascinate, but it works fine on my Captivate. Feel free to try it.

Doesn't work on my Fascinate.
Using the deodexed rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793479&page=6 you can now install the browser.apk file from the captivate, however as soon as you launch the browser it force closes. Any ideas ?
I'm trying to find a rom that has the Samsung Apps, doesnt have Bing, and is deodexed. Does a rom like that exist? If not, is there a guide for removing Bing completely amd deodexing?
Sent from my StupidFast Fascinate
Download a deodexed stock ROM to your PC, and use 7zip to switch some of the apks inside the zip: replace Browser.apk with one of the Bing-free versions & remove the Bing apks and replace with enhanced Google search.
Then flash the zip in Clockwork.

The easiest way would be to download Blackhole 1.4.1 from ROM Manager, and select the stock options. So far almost all of the bloatware is available under stock apps, and eventually it all will be, all the live wallpapers are there, and next week i'll be adding the stock widgets back as well. If you don't mind waiting for everything it's a pick and choose approach with no tech skills necessary.

Here ya go guys, it's Market v2.2.10. It installed and runs perfectly on my Crackflashers AOSP Gingerbread ROM. It's also fixed some issues where I would have to download something five or six times before it would install.
Parse error. Please post in a zip.

If anyone has an android central login, can you sign in and download it there and repost here?

Thanks!
Here you go.
Blackrose, how did you install it?
I tried using Root Explorer to rename Vending.apk to Vending.apk.bak and then installing the file. I rebooted, but started getting FCs. I tried restoring the old Market but ended up needing to NANDroid. I am running Salvage Mod 9.6.
None of these are working.
Tried these and several others found around xda.. apparently its also being pushed to Nexus S. None of them work. Tried copying to /system/app and /data/app None of them in either place works.
Using stock 2.2 3.70 rooted rom.

I'm guessing it's because it was specifically designed for Gingerbread.
You have to push it via ADB..
ex..
adb push yourpathname\com.android.vending-1.apk /data/app
This worked for me.
Try this one. The one in the OP is for Gingerbread

I pushed this one via ADB, and while it opens and things look ok, as soon as I tap on a product I get an FC.
Is there something that needs to be done to initialize it? I did clear all the market settings before trying it.
Solution
Its not really much of a solution, more like an insight.
The reason why no one can install the market is because you flashed a rom without the market, then installed a newer version of gapps. The newer version of gapps assumes you updated and still have the market apk installed. The gapps file only includes the apk to update the market app.
Flash an older copy of gapps and then boot your phone. Run the setup and then flash an updated gapps. You now have the updated market.
Also anyone that was having the home button not working issue, this resolves it. Home button stopped working as a result of the above issue. You may have to install a rooted stock rom and then flash cm 6.1.2 and then your kernel and then the gapps in the above order.

I was wondering if someone could make a clean version of nexus one gingerbread without the google apps,i hate going into task manager and seeing them run everytime on any rom i dl..if so i would donate for your troubles...either for either installation method would be finefine

GPC has released a clockwork mod version of his. Simply go into the APK folder and delete them all before you flash the rom! I agree they are a bit annoying.
