whenever i flash cm7 rc1 it doesnt seem to work. it installs fine but whenever you try and do anything like loads the market or open messaging it freezes and the phone restarts to the cyanogen boot screen meaning its unusable and this keeps happening, it seems really slow and sometimes when you click on a box it takes like 30 seconds for the keyboard to pop up. i am rooted but not overclocked and this hasnt been a problem for the numerous other custom roms ive used. im using cm 6.1 now which works fine and i tried a few of the nightlys for cm7 and they were fine too. any ideas for the rc1 issue?
everyone else seems to have it running smoothly?
Flash HCDR.Kernel v4.1. The RC1 comes with 4.2 pre-installed which overclocks the phone to 768 Max and 19 Min (Not sure on Min), which will cause instability.
Alternatively, you can use SetCPU to tune the speeds yourself.

Is anyone else experiencing a lag when typing? I text a lot and it usually occurs whenever I start typing then the lag goes away. I've tried so many things, different keyboards, disabling spell check, remove vibrate, removing background apps, I just can't get this to go away. If I continue typing through the lag, it does eventually catch up and display all the letters I punched in but its damn annoying especially for such a beast of a phone.
I'm open to any ideas, thanks.
I am running CM10.1 nightlies but I have experienced this problem since I got the phone.
For me on PA everything is fine. Tbh I barely ever type normally any more because I just find the gesture typing system much faster and more efficient.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Same thing used to happen to me on swiftkey, then when Stock keyboard got flow i went back to it, started getting lag on it also. Now im running Liquid Smooth ROM on mako with its stock kernel and it hasn't happend once. Maybe give it a try, i have found that battery life is quite good also, around 4hrs screen on time for me .
Any other ideas? Still running the latest CM nightly and I flashed franco kernel, still experiencing the odd keyboard typing lag. If no one else is experiencing this I guess maybe its just a problem with my phone.

Try to use the performance governor an let the CPU scale all the way up to 1.5 GHz.
Check if the lag is gone
I'm running stock and I still get lag!
Hi All,
I'm currently experiencing a problem, that I know has popped up on this forum a couple of times, but not for the Nexus 4 specifically.(As far as I know....)
The problem appears to be random freezes, where the device just stops, screen freezes, no hardware or software buttons respond, and requires the power button to be held down for a few seconds to restart... It happens once or twice a day, at random intervals, mainly when i'm at the home screen or just browsing Chrome (Beta).... My Nexus is running the latest Nightly of CyanogenMod 10.1, build 20130529, although this was happening on the RC1 build too... Also running the latest franco.kernel 3.4.0 and Clockwork Recovery. Haven't partitioned, restored any backups etc as of yet. I also have about 230 apps, so if it could be software related, there's i high chance one of those has got something to do with it!
A suggestion or solution that doesn't involve fiddling around with ROMs, kernels and other stuff would be great, i'm not much good at that sort of thing and don't allocate much time to fiddling about with my phone, but nevertheless if required i could give it a shot....
Thanks,
Is anyone else having this issue? I have tried many ROMS and they all have the same problem
After a bit, the phone becomes very unresponsive. It lags really bad, starts to slow down. Then eventually, it's completely frozen, often during an animation
The only way to fix is to reboot
Are there any other fixes for this that don't require rebooting?
still freezes on d801
Yeah I have had the same issue with all the 4.4.2 ROMs I have tried and have yet to find a fix for the d801. That's why I went back to stock for the time being. Been using Cloudyflex ROM with Furnace Kernel and everything runs like butter, no freezes or lags at all. I really want to be on aosp, but until the lagging and freezing goes away no dice.

Don't know if this is a fix, but today my phone rapidly slowed down again. A crash was imminent
I locked it, unlocked it
And it was super fast again!
Not sure if it's a one off, but it may be a fix/workaround?
I have been working with Cyanogenmod on my Samsung Galaxy S4 for a while now. Since a month or so, I am experiencing terrible slow down. I work fine when i reboot the device, but after a minute or so, still slow. I can't compose a message because the keyboard does not follow input, launcher takes a few seconds to switch pages, ... And the strange part, RAM usage is below half.
I tried using a stock rom after that, which worked fine, no slow down at all. Now I'm running Cyanogen again, and the slow down still happens. I switched from dalvik runtime to ART, no luck. Tried cleaning all caches, no luck. Does anybody have an idea? And is this the right place to ask people?
Good morning, I've a strange audio problem, on stock or custom rom stock based the volume lower itself even if is set on the max level, otherwise if I install for instance the alpha of the cyanogenmod everything works perfectly, do you know where the problem is located? and how can I solve it?
Cyano is too still too unstable and not ready for a daily usage (GPS almost broken, 4g rarely works, random reboots etc...) so I would like to go back to stock but with this volume issue it's impossible, please help me... :crying:
