I'm running CM7 from my SD card, via HaRET
installed skype, dwouldn't log in, and crash
read the official FAQ,
cleared the data, move to phone, cleared the data
and still not logging-in, not crashing though, but not logging in, and not displaying any error messages,
did the same thing with angry birds, "unfortunatly" it started working,
so I fear this semester is doomed...
what do I do??? I really need skype, and don't want to use other programs
anyone?! anything?!

Hey all, I'm having a problem with the native gmail app. As of yesterday 3pm (at least what the sync screen shows the last gmail sync) my gmail app will not sync or open. It crashes/force closes everytime I open gmail. I can use the native email app and access gmail from there but it is not push or in my opinion as good as the native gmail app. I'm running JFv1.42 RC33 Mod, with my apps on SD card with ext2 partition. I also have app data moved to sd card as well. Everything runs fine except my gmail app which mysteriously stopped working yesterday. I'm trying to avoid wiping the G1 as I don't want to hafta go and download all those applications over again.
So far I've tried reflashing JFv1.42 RC33 mod, app still crashes. I tried moving data back to phone, app still crashes. I don't understand what has happened, or what could be causing this, my wifes gmail app works just fine? Anyways any other ideas I can try before going thru the tedious task of wiping and flashing and redownloading everything again?
Fixed it, just posting this in case anyone else might run into same problem. I went into menu>>settings>>Applications>>Manage applications>>Gmail Storage>> Then tap clear data. (Don't worry, gmail will sync your mail again, you won't lose anything) After that Gmail started syncing and wasn't giving me a force close or crash, but the mail still wouldn't sync. So I rebooted, then opened gmail app, all my mail synced and everythings fine!

doesnt work for me damn..
edit : su copy.sh undodata seems to have fixed the issue
i have then again moved my apps and data back to sd card.
The issue is EXT2 doesn't play too well with memory cards and gets corrupted easily from what I've been told. I've had my google apps database get corrupted multiple times and it was caused by a corrupted file system which forced me to have to load up a linux livecd to fix the file system errors. Now I keep my data on the internal memory to avoid the issue. From what I understand if we had an easy way to create a yaffs2 partition instead of EXT2 this problem would be less frequent.
This resolved my syncing issues, thanks!

CONFIRMED. I had to do this on my Nexus1. When checking out applications management, filter by "all". Thanks again!
this is incredible.
my google apps have stopped working, so i can't access the market or gmail.
I have deleted all the data in the application, so that i can reenter my credentials, but now it won't connect via 3G, Gprs or Wifi. "no stable connection available"
meaning i can't install a backup app, so that i could do the hard reset and configure again.
i can't backup in restore mode, because i have the new ROM, so it fails.
What is wrong with android? retarded? why can't i backup from my PC?
I have been long enough on WMobile to know how not easy and not intuitive it can be,
but give me a break.
does anyone know a solution how i can make gmail and the market again without having to loose all my settings, apps etc...?
Google never made a backup app.
Third party developers can not access the Google apps to back up the data within them, as they are closed source.
various other reasons....
looks to me like you are going to have to start from scratch... and watch out for that google apps thing, never clear the data on that thing cos you will get that exact error and HR is the only way out....
not fun, but there it is.
thanks rhedgehog for your quick reply
Thing is that my Gmail app stopped working, it didn't sync anymore 1week+
i searched for solutions on the net, and found that alot of people succeded with deleting their gmail data, and reentering their credentials.
I thought android was finally the answer to a simpler way to use your phone, but this is a step back imho.
solution
Well i found the cure to my disease...
i downloaded myBackup directly from the internet, and copied it to my SD-Card where i installed it from. made the backup, reset the device, installed myBackup again, recovered everything.
now Gmail, Market, etc works again, and i have all my apps and Data.
just watch out when using that before an update. it's third party so there's no guarantee it will work across ROM updates...in fact i know some people had major problems with that over the 1.76 - 2.73 update.
I have tried all yesterday and again today, I click on marketplace, go to sign in and then nothing it won't log me in, no error message or anything. Do you know how I can resolve it, I have tried deleting it and downloading it again
I think it is one of my applications that is causing it, I have installed Motweets from the marketplace, Skype, Audioroute and S2U2 and the phone is constantly freezing, behaving really slowly and most of the time marketplace won't log me in.
It was working okay before I installed these applications.
I purchased a few basic free apps via Marketplace on my PC (Shazam, Youtube, Voice Recorder, Google Search), everything went okay, I got the message that the application was successfully installed every time. But when I disconnected my phone from the PC, the applications I installed weren't on the apps list. I connected the phone again in a few hours, synced it and still those apps didn't show on it. I tried to install them again, but I got the message they are already installed. Help?
:/
the same problem, can anyone help ??
I Just got the International S7 edge two days ago, prior to getting this phone, I had no experience with rooting, or root apps. I looked into rooting, and found out how useful it can be so today I decided to root for the first time. First thing I installed titanium backup made a backup of all apps and started deleting away any duplicate google apps that I wasn't using. Gmail, Play Videos, books, etc etc, nothing major I thought. I saw contacts storage by google, and right above that I had the stock contacts app, so I thought I wouldn't need it. I uninstalled google contacts storage and my phone right away started acting up, giving me the error, "android.process. acore". I have looked all over google for answers with other phones, and tried everything but nothing has worked.
I have tried:
Erasing contacts data and cache
[*]Reinstalling google contacts
Actually it gets stuck on the installation cursor when I click install BUT when i reboot my phone the app seems to have been installed however the error regarding "android.process.acore" resumes coming up incessantly. At first I thought there was something wrong with my app, so I tried to reinstall another app and same thing, it got stuck again, I suspect the issue is HERE, but I have no clue how to get past this issue. I tried to buy the pro version of titanium back up and I went into prerferences and changed AUTO/direct to AUTO/indirect but still the same issue remained. If anyone knows anything regarding that please let me know
[*] LAST OPTION: to flash a stock rom for SM-G935F (couldn't find one though)
When contacts storage is uninstalled there is no error but I cannot sync contacts from ANY other account, like my microsoft account. I can't even add contacts into my contacts book manually when it's uninstalled. I haven't tried much when it is installed because the rate that the "anroid.process.acore" error comes up make it fking impossible to do anything on the phone!
I am really hoping someone on here can help me. I have been looking all night for a solution, browsing forums, but nothing has worked for me. If anyone can link me to a stock rom for SM-G935F, I will have to just try that.
I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you, but if you get your phone working again always us TiB to freeze apps, and make sure things still work, before you actually delete them. Good luck.
