Okay, since no one on XDA knows how to operate the search function or even read a thread on the first pages of General or Android Development that they post in, I'll make this tutorial.
1. Click this button:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2. Type in what you think is a useful post:
3. Check the threads that result.
4. If they don't pertain to what you want to talk about, then make a post. Might want to do a few searches.
5. If search is down, at least look past the first thread.
For the love of God, please do not make any more HC threads.
The Nook Color has a very ghetto-rigged version of HC that barely works. We don't have it because the AOSP hasn't been released and the boot.img hasn't been grabbed from the Xoom (more important than the system dump). Another issue is Nvidia hasn't released the Tegra 2 proprietary libraries.
No one on XDA knows how to read apparently. Just a few threads for HC:

Really? 14 threads in General about HC and 2 threads in Android Development (not counting deleted/moved threads).
If you don't want to be flamed here, don't post things that have been posted.
P.S. Sorry to go all out on you, but I and many others have gotten tired of sifting through all this clutter.

Thanks for seeking to be involved. I am sure that TheJesus (non-deity for sure) meant no ill will.
Search can be daunting to say the least as it's not very intuitive - I do know that some changes are in the works for searching at an undetermined time...
Closing this thread to stop flaming.

im new on this forum, well i was wondering witch android is better, the linux or froyo? i just got my hd2 from tmobile and i want to make it a android phone. also can any one help me out on what i need to do to install android on my hd2???
oh no you didn't!!!!!!!
You should really have posted this in general Android discussion, this forum is for develpment of Android.
But you just need to hard SPL your phone, and follow the instructions posted in the stickies. Not going to bother posting it as it's very easy to find pinned at the top of the forum. Also you will probably want an Evo or Desire based build but that's as far as I can help you, everything else is sort of trial and error.

this should help you

I kinda feel bad for how much your about to be owned...
The fist few threads in the General forum explain everything you need to know, and pretty much every build has individual instructions.
Simple answer in there is no 'best android'. Each build will suit everyone differently. Look at the features of each one a pick one you think will suit. You'll probably need to flash a new radio and ROM before hand... spend some time reading and try to get familiar with the whole process.
The best one is the one I use

Do not answer these threads seriously. If anyone wants to install Android then they will read the instructions that have been there forever or do a google search for one of the million pages out there. It's one thing to help someone who is using their own mind to think. It is something completely different to help someone who expects you to do the thinking for them.
In short, dont encourage this behavior by responding to these threads with a serious answer. He violated forum rules by making this thread.
thread closed buddy,
Find the build that fits you best.
It's getting kinda annoying to answer the same questions all over again.
To avoid that, I've made FAQ section in Wiki, in which all the super-popular questions like "Can anyone port Copy-Paste / widgets / things from Sense", "Why do I get blank screen after flashing custom recovery", "Running out of space", are answered.
If anyone can format it better, correct/add something, etc - you're welcome, you know, it's Wiki, collaboration tool
So if you feel like you're answering the same question for the 5th time - maybe it's a good idea to put it into the FAQ.
This will surely help, but you have to accept that some people just don't read FAQ's or use the search function, because:
1) They are lazy
2) If they knew that it's a frequently asked question, they probably shouldn't have asked it.
3) They want a personalized answer.
Of course I've been on forums way too long to hope that things will be that easy.
I've meant to accomplish something else with this FAQ - The answer "Read Q7 in the FAQ" is much shorter than writing the actual answer.
Great idea Jack!
I was just thinking about doing something similar. I was thinking more of a troubleshooting guide, but trying to serve the same purpose...

I do not know how accurate, truthful or factual this person is, but their post explains why we don't have Froyo yet - basically US carriers have to pay more for feature updates rather than maintenance updates, and Samsung insists Froyo is a feature update but carriers insist is a maintenance update being that Google did the majority of the work:

If this is the case (and it kind of makes sense) I am quite disappointed in all parties concerned. What the heck.

These posts keep getting taken down by the mods. Cut the guy some slack! He didn't know. My post on this had over 1,000 views and over 30 comments and still got taken down. I mean, we're all clamoring for ANY news on Froyo. I mean, what else do we have to talk about here? Rooting or installing the Froyo hack?
Honestly, OP, I like and can't get enough of the "Where's Froyo?" posts either. Why? Any news at all is worth a read for me. I want my Froyo!
Please search before making a new thread. There are numerous threads discussing this same topic.

Just got this update. Anyone know what it does? I lost root, but Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper got it back for me. Just had to update SuperSU binaries. Going into App Manager, I still don't see the option to move apps to SD.
EDIT - So this is what ATT says is in the update.
Software update includes
Touch screen senstivity improvement
Enhanced Multi window experience
S-Health version updated

The OP did put the firmware version in the title, so that helps, but still should have took 2 seconds to do a simple search and a little reading before posting in the first place. What I don't understand is even if people don't search and read on their own, how can they miss the "similar threads" list that automatically displays for them before they even make the post? There is no excuse for that. And, there is no excuse for all of the people saying they searched but didn't se anything because they used the "XDA app". If the XDA app isn't working for searches, stop using it. The phone browser(s) handle the XDA site just fine without an app.
It really just comes down to people not following the rules and being to lazy to search and read...so maybe this thread should be locked after all.
No question is silly question..

agreed, what they are saying is that there are many threads that have the info you are inquiring about. No need to start another thread on this endless subject. Besides, these guys are brutal on this dupe thread stuff.

But this thread was not a question. And if OP had searched (ANYWHERE) he/she could have seen that this is not a new update. So this looks like a thread reporting a new update.
Hopefully mods will delete as it is not useful and only adds FUD.
Hello guys,
few days ago i posted my first Android game on Google Play.
If you wish i would like to check it out and post your opinions and comments
I already have some features/changes in mind that i am going to implement. Currently i keep updating it at least once a week.
Just keep in mind that i want to keep this specific game as simple(from end-user perspective) as possible, without much features and options, e.x. weapons, levels, etc.
HOW TO PLAY:
Tap fast!
Tilt fast!
FEATURES:
Global scoreboard (with daily,weekly and all time scores).
Achievements.
Clean hi resolution graphics.

i like the performance and the sensibility , a little more kind of obstacles would be great for the game.
To be honest, control with tilting is a little bit too difficult for me.
