market out
market is out for me as well i was flashing all kind of roms must b a server down ive read some of the post and a lot of people are out as well and also on different devices as well so ill go back to mod'n my hero and wait
I am running cm6 and mine has been out for a few hours.
I just downloaded google maps about five minutes ago running aospbot nightly but it took an extremely long time. flashing the latest nightly gave me network error though anyone wanna man up and flash run the ruu to find out if it's just a rom issue or if it's google.
market is down...looks like there will be a major upgrade!
Mine works
Working again, no upgrades...

yeah i was having that trouble when I was testing RegawMOD 3.0 lol I thought it was something I did! good to know!
my market has been acting up for a couple days now and its still doing it anyone know of a fix? I thought it was my rom but I've wiped and flashed a different rom and still the same problem.
mine loads fine but when i go to download an app the download arrow pops up for a sec then goes away and it never finishes downloading... good to know it's not just me
I'm having far worse problems with my phone. I started out with the market going slow, clicking to download an app, then waiting 5 to 10 minuets until the download starts. Then came the network errors on the market, taking 12 hours for downloads to start. Now, finally, when I type in www.google.com in my browser, my phone just sits there, looking at me like I'm stupid.
I can go to bing, yahoo, xda, penny-arcade, kotaku. I just can't go to any site related to google, on an operating system coded, ran, and maintained by google. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's the definition of irony.
Anyway, if it helps any, I'm running 2.2 cm6, flashed between that and Zenhero 2.1 and the stock rom, doing factory wipes, and both regular and davlik(sp?) cache wipes in between.
Weird, I've had no issues to speak of, running cm6 830 and now 831

Updated sucessfully to Froyo! Everything runs great.... Except that I can't connect to the market.
I get a time out error/can't connect. Gmail and all other apps have no issues.
I have tried this solution:
http://www.droid-life.com/2010/06/12/tip-market-app-issue-in-froyo/
and, this solution:
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/team-chaos/49974-market-update-fix-froyo-leaked-version-2-a.html
without success. The second one caused a boot loop and I had to re-flash .604 via SBF/RSD.
Anyone have any suggestions or a fix for the DroidX?
Both of those links were for the droid. Im have the same issue though.

I was aware that they were for the Droid... I was just hoping that they would work for the DX.... although after looking at the build.prop files I now realize that was a REALLY STUPID NOOB error.
I guess I was hoping that the .zip's contained some code that would change a setting and not RR the whole file.
If someone knows what setting needs to be changed please let me know. For now, I'll have to go back to 2.1 if I can't get the market.
I don't think its an X on Froyo issue, Markets not working on my EVO and X
Google server error?
Other Android users(non-Droid X Froyo users) have reported the same issue in another forum. Seems to be a "Google side" error. Probably just maintenance because of all the Froyo releases this month.

Cleared cache in Market all is good
I was having the same issue yesterday, but tried it today and all works again. Must have been a Google problem.
Good info bro! I cleared the market data and all fine now. Thanks

How do you clear the market cache? I can't seem to find it.
Worked perfect with root explorer. Thx

Market didn't work at first, then it did but with weird apps i never heard of in the Top Paid, then a few hours later almost all my previously installed apps showed up, then the market seemed normal expect for like 10 apps that i can live without for now wont show up.
It was a market issue. Market works great now!

Replaced my Droid before and had to download apps again from scratch and everything, redo all my settings. But when I activated my Xoom, it downloaded all the apps on my phone to it, even copied over things like my browser history and my saved wifi passwords. (Kinda creepy actually but it was really convenient, so I give Goog as pass on this.)

I had no idea that this would happen, but after just exchanging my Xoom at BestBuy for a new one, I found the following after it ran through a google sync process:
All my apps are installed
WiFi settings / networks were maintained
Still looking around to see what else transfered to this unit, but given that I didnt expect that anything would, im pretty impressed. I dont recall ever telling the 1st device to do such things or initiated any backups.
that didn't happen for me, but i wish it did! how can I re-sync it now?

I think this has something to do with 3rd party customizations on the Droids and HTC handsets. I know when I flash a Sense ROM on my Evo 4G it does not automatically restore my apps. But if I flash an AOSP ROM, they do. Xoom's Gingerbread is basically AOSP, just a tablet version.
My Droid touchscreen is broken and consequently has been wiped a few times recently and I have noticed the recent improvements. I loved it when I turned the WIFI on my Xoom at home it automatically had the settings.

Must admit my nexus one has been doing that since I got it - i.e. when flashing a new ROM (which is all we do on nexus's ) Google sync would download my wifi settings including passwords. Very useful, but not very new. Maybe it was a Droid limitation.
I think tha'ts an AOSP thing. I flashed my Evo to CM7 and the same happened (and yes the wifi thing was pretty creepy lol)
How do I turn on the Google Backup for Android? Is it just from Google Sync?

Very BIG help though I have to admit....
That's one of my favorite things about Android. When I upgraded from the G1 to the Nexus One it did that. And again when I went from the Nexus One to my current G2. It's definitely something stock Android features. I remember I was surprised the first time it happened. And the wifi setting restore is awesome.

Home screen customization settings aren't backed up
Google's Backup remembers a lot of settings, but it never backs up the Home screen settings.
It takes awhile to add all my shortcuts and widgets to the five home screens, so I wish Google could remember those, as well.
Hope it's included in the next batch of fixes.
my droid x does the same thing when i flash new roms. it has nothing to do with the xoom
So Google has the wifi passwords of everyone using Android 2.2+ who turns this service on? Seriously?
What about RADIUS? Are they storing per-user authentication tokens too?

Same thing here... I was like yo, I know my router has mad security.. wtf.... oh wait a second... lol
Is this tread comparing the Xoom to Droid phones or Android phones? If its about any Android then the title really needs to be changed.
Droid is Verizon's Android phones. Why is that so hard for people to understand?

Not sure why that should seem so alarming. If you use the Google device restore option the you already have an account with Google. Google therefore has your account password. Shock horror! If like me you also use Google checkout then Google also has your credit card number. Wifi is the last of our worries .

I hate to say it but they got me to reactivate my membership with this. I could have sworn I read somewhere that netflix was only going to implement mobile netflix on phones with some sort of hardware security that the incredible doesn't have to appease the networks and movie studios.
Whatever, I'm happy now.
I like how its available to the Inc and not the inc2.....yes our phone is the **** still.
Edit:
Hecky hell balls....doesn't work with my CM7
I'm running the CM7 nightly from May 3rd (sorry, no idea what number that would be) and it's working fine for me. Some are reporting that you need to have the latest Flash update for this to work (10.3) and I got that this morning.
Hmmm I have the new flash....
Using nightly 75
Not sure how much of this will be useful but my full setup is: AMOLED, CM7 May 3rd nightly (think it's #65) (version 2.3.4), 4/19 incredikernel, and the 20110307 Gapps.
Yea the only diff is I am up to #75 hmmm
So far this app works perfectly, about damned time.
Still my favorite Android phone on the market (being partial of course, since it's the one I own haha)
I have been waiting for this for a very long time.

Internal. Trying SD now...
Edit:
Works after moving to sdcard...hmmm
Working on my SkyRaider4 with flash 10.2
Also on CM7 Nightly #65, works for me after moving to SD Card too. Odd, but acceptable!!!
For the record mine has been working from internal. I guess I was just lucky today.

Works 100% perfect without a hitch. CM7.0.3 with latest Invisiblek kernel.
Google somehow recognizes my Incredible as a Nexus S... i got an email the other day congratulating me on my purchase of the Nexus S, funny thing is I've never purchased one, it just so happens I guess they think that when I installed CM7 with my google account they though my Incredible was really their Nexus S lmao
Just read on phandroid and decided to download it on my rooted atrix and it played but with a green line. This was from the market. Any1 else with the same issue?

you should read the other 100 threads before asking this again, its a known issue its not optimized for the atrix on 2.2 unlock your bootloader and flash 2.3.4 if it will work fine then
Concur with last post. Netflix works great on HKTW 2.3.4! Just make sure you still have streaming on your account after the new price change.
Nice! I have been using it since I UL'd and using 2.3.4. Works great. I still just checked it on the Market and downloaded it so I can get the updates and such.
I tried it and still had the green line and ghosting as well. I am on 1.83. I did some reading and it had looked like it was still the old 1.2 version in the market. My thought is it should work with 1.83 as I'm guessing they haven't gotten the GB update yet to test the Atrix with. Or did they just assume and not test?
On a side note, after uninstalling Neflix my corporate exchange email couldn't connect to the server any longer. Could uninstalling Neflix have caused my issue or was it just a weird coincidence?

They updated just now the Netflix version. Looks like they updated the list of supported devices but forgot to update the app. That's now fixed.

This seems to be the case. I installed it and immediately had an update. I just tried after the update and it's working just fine.
FYI... I'm still 1.83
Yeah! Netflix working PERFECTLY under 2.2.2.

Awesome! I've been contemplating upgrading to GB just to get this but since it works perfectly on 2.2 It will make waiting for the OTA more bearable. Now If we could just get skype video.

Yep, it works now
Yay! It works... but it looks like crap.
At least on my Atrix it looks like crap.
I own a Atrix (AT&T) as well as a Droid X (Verizon) and I have Netflix running (from the Market) on both phones. Side by side the video on the Droid X phone looks nice and sharp without blocky pixelation and it's only a 3G phone. But the same video on my Atrix which is supposed to be 4G takes forever to load a video and then when it finally plays the picture looks terrible with horrible pixelation to the point where I can barely make out what it is I am looking at.
I am running stock FroYo on the Atrix without any tweaks. What is the deal with this phone? Is it the phone or the network? The Atrix shows 3 bars at my house (whereas my Droid X shows 4 bars) so it looks like it's got a good signal to the tower but the network speed is really terrible.
I was so excited to get an Atrix (since I have a tablet that has a Tegra 2 chip in it as well and LOVE it) but after owning this phone for a week I have to say I am beginning to regret getting it.
I haven't tried using at&t data...I just use wick and it is excellent
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I'm running 1.57 with my 3/4g data testing at 1.8mb/s down and new netflix works great on atrix with good image quality.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Can't Wait
Awesome.... just keeps getting better and better!
It's not the phone; it's the network.
I've found out it's the AT&T network. When I posted my rant earlier I found by using the Speedtest.net android app I was only getting around 200kbps (yup, you're reading this right) downstream on my 4G Atrix. When I tried after 7 p.m. local time the speeds improved to between 1.2mbps to 3mbps. So, at the moment, the Netflix app is playing pretty smoothly on my Atrix.
This is my work phone (paid for by work) and I traded in my iPhone 4 for it because it's an android phone (friendly to rooting/customizing) and it's got the two things I've been waiting for in a new android phone (dual-core AND 4G). All in all I'm pretty happy with the phone (wish the screen was bigger) but really unhappy with AT&T's network.
My personal phone is a Droid X on Verizon Wireless which I've had since the midnight launch about a year ago and I've enjoy it rooted and on the Verizon's dependable network - I love this phone. But time moves on and they are about to release the Droid Bionic which is the first dual-core/4G phone on Verizon. I think it drops in a month and I'll be waiting in line to get it.
