Just remove the tab and then forget about it. Or, if you want me to give similar advice to yours in another thread, get a phone that doesn't have twitter on it
I use only google contacts in my phonebook and have them very organized with birthdays and all. What made me sad was the inability to sync my contacts info (mainly birthdays) to either the built in calendar or preferably the google calendar.
Does anyone have any idea if that is possible either with a setting or app...am I missing something? I thought android was all about integration and I'd think google contact data would naturally sync with google calendar data

For anyone who is interested in the same feature (though no one replied so I doubt it), I found the solution.
Go to calendar on the browser and add an "interesting calendar." From there you can add a calendar with your contacts info.
If you want to see the results immediately just go on the phone now and sync the calendar. Hope this was helpful to anyone!

I can't even begin to express how much this pisses me off. That BS is "feature phone" leftovers. When making a new calendar event I STILL cannot make my gmail account the default. Just another reason why I cannot wait for a fully functioning 2.2ROM..... MAN I HATE FEATURE PHONES.....
Oh, and to the post just before this one - I have no idea what the hell you just said....maybe its just me, but your post was incomprehensible...

I made a post a few days ago asking how I could reset my Xoom after I forgot the lock pattern and the google email/password.
But now it's gone, even under my profile it not showing the new post - could someone please please tell me how to do this again.
Well I solved it anyway, followed this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1079504
Return it to the owner you stole it from. No way you could forget the pattern and your email address. You could simply go online to gmail.com and reset the password.
THEIF!!!

Well it does sound pretty fishy, and I know I would never forget my Gmail address, both my sister and brother-in-law both made Gmail accounts for their Android phone and never use them. They remain logged in to their phone, and are very basic users(so never need to allow permissions or type in their passwords), so I could see them getting into a similar situation. The real question is why the heck would anyone not be using Gmail as their main email (While I really think Gmail is superior to all others, I wasn't serious enough with that question to need hotmail/yahoo/whatever fans tell me all the great features about their email, how Google steals all their users info, or why hotmail isn't just and old 90's crapware that people are too lazy to switch from. Was just poking a little fun. To each their own. Even crappy hotmail users.).
did you forget your name too?

I'm a crappy hotmail user still!
I do know two people who 'forgot' their password to their gmail, and one who forgot their username as they too set them up only for their phone and never used them for anything.
silly, silly people...
although i imagine with a xoom in hand most people would know their gmail by then - or they'd have got themselves a iPad
My wife is on her third gmail address because she keeps forgetting what it is. She only uses it for her phone account and not email. I did explain that it would be easy to recover but she just said it was easier to make a new one...
Also, I work in IT Support and the number of people who forget basic things like username, password, email address, even phone extension if it's not written in front of them is astounding.
It's amazing how some people are so judgmental.

Yeah working in IT slowing makes you lose hope in people. I get calls saying "My pc is dead" and it will be unplugged or "Everything is closing as i open it." and they will have something on top of the keyboard pushing the Esc key.

I kid you not, I once had a homeworker call me to say that their laptop had died. Went through some troubleshooting with them for a few mins until I mentioned maybe plugging the power lead into a different socket. "Oh that won't help, we've had a black out all morning".
She'd been using the laptop on battery power.
Honestly, I do not find it hard to believe that someone would forget their gmail address when some people can't even remember that computers need electricity to work.
Those are examples of the general know nothings in the world. People who spent a good amount of money on a xoom instead of a ipad do not fall into this catorgory,
This is not some phone you can get for cheap or free on a contract from a carrier and just have to make a account to use it. He stole the thing. His story is bull****.

a) totally wrong forum, this is for motorola xoom
b) storys like this sound fishy. We can't tell if it is true or if you just found the phone somewhere. Thus I don't think anyone is willing to help you.
c) why would you use different gmail accounts on your devices? I see only disadvantages, as you will have to buy apps twice if you want to use them on both devices, contacts dont sync, etc.
d) try to remember the gmail-account. Maybe you set up a secondary mail address when you set the gmail account up, maybe that sent a confirmation to one of your other accounts. Maybe you told somebody about your new gmail account...
e) maybe try to take it to the shop where you bought the phone, maybe they'll help if they are able to determine if your request is legit.
f) that's it for me in this thread.

You'd have to be a completely idiot to think anyone would fall for this......
You've heard all your likely to hear on this subject.
If you can't "remember" your unlock pattern, or your Google account password, or the information needed to recovery the Google account password. Then its about 99.9% likely that its not your device, nor Google account.
In the 0.1% chance that your for real, then your only option is to contact Google. To do that, search Google.

Unfortunately, when trying to enter Google Talk with another user on the device it prompts: "This version of Talk can be used only by the owner of the device".

all apps are per user settings.. You would have to set up another whole google account . then install that account on the second user.. That means any paid app will have to be bought again for the second user...

Not sure what you are referring to here. The official Google Talk app is built in and is a free application. I tried setting up a 2nd user account for my girlfriend and she signed in with her Google account, yet when I open Google Talk on her account, I get this error message.

Finally somebody with the same problem ! Now I'm not the single one on this planet who encountered this )
I just set up a user account and ran into this as well. It dramatically cuts into the utility of having multiple users if they're going to be limited like this.

I found a thread in the general section of the nexus 7 forums discussing it as well. Unfortunately they don't seem to have any answers yet either.

I made this post on the android google code site. Please star it if you are having this issue so that we can (hopefully) bring it to Google's attention

Hi all,
Just to inform you that the problem is still present, I installed cromi on my tf300 and nexus 7 , both in 4.2 , and the second user can not access to talk....
If you have some info
Thank you!!

Hi all,
I have a slight issue with the new google maps. Basically I have a gmail account which is linked to my domain (google apps). Now when I go into the "people" app, I can see my contacts have their address in their details. But when I open up the new google maps and search my contacts, it does not show my contacts address in the search bar.
Secondly (i think this is related to the same issue), if i try to use Google now "Navigate Home" command, it does not recognise my home address. It asked me to put in my home address and when I do that and click save I get an error that the address could not be saved.
Any idea what is going on with my phone? I have tried resetting the phone but it didnt help.
Thanks
2 things may be going on here. For it to work your contacts have to be associated with the same account as you're signed into maps with.
Second, I remember reading somewhere that it currently does not work with contacts associated with a business account.

Google rarely says "when" LOL. Here is where I spied that disclaimer...
https://support.google.com/gmm/answer/3131570?p=maps_android_contacts&hl=en&rd=1
While I don't have a business account, I have seen a number of complaints about this or that not working right with Google app accounts, and it seems that some of these have been going on for years... so I wouldn't hold your breath.

Sad times!
Thanks for the help though!
I can concur that if you have a google apps for business account it's not pulling in your contact details.
Why would they remove this???? it was working before the update.
I've been using Google Maps/Navigation to get to and from clients and now because I have a google apps for business account where all my contact details are saved.
Crazy!!

Growing pains. Google releases a lot that is unfinished. This is just another brick in the wall.
I don't think this was removed in the strictest sense of the word. I believe the old behavior looked in the local contacts data as i was previously syncing over iCloud, and it worked. After the update i had to change my syncing to Google Contacts online to get contacts from a maps based search.
Guessing this new behavior is more efficient as now both the places and contacts search are online.

Google maps seems to be working (i can look up my contacts addresses) in android 4.3 even though on the link you gave me it still says that google apps business accounts wont have this functionality. One thing which is annoying me now is that since I updated my phone to android 4.3, if i say "Navigate home" to google now, it doesnt work at all (before it used to ask me to tell where is home). it just shows me random results relating home (not mine) on google.
I remember reading that in another thread, or was that you?

Yup just did a hard reset and re install of all apps and still no go.
If I do a search for one of my contacts they don't come up at all, just businesses or locations with a similar name (now just got to go into all my apps now and put in all the logins and passwords ......doh!!!)

I wasn't able to search for my contacts either. I had my web history turned off. When I turned web history on, they showed up on both the web based version of Google Maps, and the Android version of Google Maps. (I don't understand why this should be required.)
I have not tried this using a google apps account.
Hope that helps.
