Hello.
I can't seem to multitask why I play music on my aria. When I go on the browser while I play music, the music begins to start chopping and such. Does anyone have the same problem or a solution? Thanks.

It may help others if they knew what you were using to play music with.

the aria doesn't have an amazingly powerful processor; multi tasking works, but sometimes things may suffer.
also, i'm assuming your music is on your sd card? the quality/speed of your sd card could affect this too.
I'm using the stock music player that came with cm 7. I am also using the default SD card that came with my aria

try using a different music player, and try using a different sd card perhaps.

Try putting it in the music folder? Are the songs that do play in the download folder or somewhere else?

Use something other than the stock Samsung music app. I used to have a captivate and that was one of the first major issues with these phones. Trust me. Put the AOSP app for music on there

Hey, when you play audio, does your audio randomly pop or skip? I've tried Winamp, Doubletwist, AOSP Music app, the Samsung Player, and 3 so far and it sounds like my Fascinate is having trouble finding the resources to reliably play audio.
I've had dumbphones that do the same thing, but I didn't expect it from a smartphone, especially from a Samsung device.
I have an iPod Touch that plays everything fine, but I'm guessing this is more in line with what Apple actually designed it for.
Have no problems with music popping or skipping on my Fascinate. Been using either the stock Samsung music app or cubed player.
So far loving the hell out of this thing... I take it everywhere with me. (seriously)
So I loaded up my 16GB micro sd card with about 8GB of music. Transformer reads it and adds everything to my library. I set it up to play in shuffle mode first song plays no problem... second song takes about 2 mins to load. 3rd song takes about 4 mins. I go over and skip a track takes 2 seconds to load. Next song again takes 2 mins to load. I give up and use my droid x to play the music.
posting at close to midnight didn't let me search the forum but similar threads there are none...
It Could Be the Class of SD Card. :x Idk but that sucks. I Copied a few gigs of music onto Internal SD and they play fine So it has to be something with Reading from the SD. hmm..
I take it this happens with the stock music player and with the screen off? It's a bug. A number of others myself included have had this happen and resolved it by using a different music player. I use UberMusic from the same Dev as LauncherPro and am happy to say I haven't had a single problem since making the switch.

+1.
Doesn't have too many features yet (still in alpha stage) but it still works very well.

+2, probably caused by Google's music player.
I also found the google music player to be somewhat unresponsive at times when switching tracks. Cant say anything conclusive though, since I didn't use it much. Installed PowerAMP straightaway and never went back (PowerAMP IMO has the best equalizer where the stock player has NONE!! ). Like others have said, it could be an issue with the stock player.
I have been using my X8 for over a month now. So far I have only one major issue that annoys me, which is the random stuttering of music playback. I tried Froyobread as well as GingerDX, both have the same issue.
The only *solution* so far is that to use the performance governor which locks the CPU clock freq. at 600MHz.
I did some google searching and saw that for Xperia X10 there is a patch to fix this similar problem. I wonder if there is one for our X8. Thanks!
I've noticed this for awhile and haven't found a fix it also happens when playing videos but I thought it was something to do with reading from the memory card cause it don't seem to happen when the music or video is getting streamed from the net but when you save it it will start happening again
Sent from my X8 using XDA Premium App
I use a Class 4 8GB card. I don't think it has anything to do with the memory card because if I set the CPU to full speed the issue is gone.
I went back to the stock 2.1 rom and now finally the music playback goes smoothly.
For this reason I will not try any other 2.2 or 2.3 rom again.
I had this problem before using froyobread. When i used gingerdx i formatted my card too and now the issue is gone. Btw im using a class 2 8gb card using mixzing playing 320kbps and flac files

got something to do with sd card read cache?
Same problem ive encounter on gingerdx but the performance using gingerdx is superb.

Maybe. But I never formatted my sd card and it has a LOT of songs in it. With stock 2.1 rom it is just a pleasure to enjoy the music. With FroyoBread or GingerDX the music playback is unusable.
I put up a post about this a while back, but the thread kinda died. I tried out Cyanogenmod 7 recently and as we all know...they only have nightly versions. Nothing stable. When I tried it I liked everything EXCEPT the fact that I couldn't view my old videos. I'm not just talking about old videos taken with my blur camera. I'm talking about REALLY old videos that I took over the years with older phones. Anyway, I wanted to know if there's a fix for this. Please let me know bc I REALLY like the other aspects of CM 7. Thanks!

Haha double pasted this link lol... this is a link to vlc media player alpha, with this installed on my DX I can play all old blur videos and multiple different file types that CM7 wouldn't play, not sure but I bet it'll play your old .3gp files as well. Make sure to follow the instructions on their site to determine if your processor is neon or not, my DX and SGT are both neon, but yours may be different...

Well, I just tried it out on my stock rom before trying cyanogenmod again and vlc player wouldn't play sound on my REALLY old videos. The newer stuff would play though. Ugh....I still need a better solution to this. :-/
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
You might have to convert your really old 3gp's to a different format... will the stock rom play them with any player?
Sent from my SGT running CM7
There are many other third party players you can try. Rockplayer and mxplayer come to mind. Worth a shot?
Sent from my DROIDX using xda premium
@hoot- yes, the stock player still plays my super old videos.
@runn- I tried mxplayer last time I had CM 7 on my phone and it didn't work. I don't remember if I tried rockplayeror not tho. Maybe it's worth a shot. If I convert my old files what should I convert them to anyway?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I would convert files to something general like maybe avi or mpg... something that any player will play... if you don't have access to a computer, I think there are apps on the market that allow you to convert files... look around a bit

Hello all. I'm looking for your opinions on which music player is the best out there.
While I like the interface of the stock TW music player, there's one thing that bugs the crap out of me. If a band name starts with the word "The", the band falls in the T's. For example, The White Stripes are in the T's not the W's.
So what are your thoughts? I've tries Poweramp and it's decent. But I'm looking to try others.

The last two days I've been looking for good music player too.
I had been using n7player because I like the user interface of it. However since I added my external 64gb SD card I have not been able to add music to it from the card. I can play music off of the card using that player but it can't locate it automatically. It can locate music off the internal storage fine.
I tried Power amp and had the same problem. Winamp was able to identify the music fine.
Im assuming its a format issue as I'm using exFAT instead of fat32.
At this point I'll say Winamp but I like n7 player the best

I use tunewiki. Its easier to use and feels more stream lined imo plus it has lyrics which is nice
Of all the players I've tried I still prefer Neutron. Just seems to sound better. Subjectively, of course.
El Mono
MPlayer
I like the stock player on the Samsung Galaxy S4, but Winamp sounds just as good and the pro version comes with EQ. I would suggest just putting the first letter of the song before the word "the". So, instead of "The Black Crows" it would be "BThe Black Crows". This will fix the order of songs, but it does look awkward.
Player pro here. It also plays videos

Thanks for all the replies folks. So far, nothing has topped Poweramp, though PlayerPro is intriguing.
Have you tried Music Player for Pad/Phone?
