Hello!
My question is not about Epic 4g and I've already asked about it not long ago. So, I'm trying to ask it again because it is a problem for me and I don't know how to fix it.
Until today I've had Bonsai 4 all 2.0.1 Rom with EXT4. And my problem I couldn't pair any device on my system. Tried everything. When is it a new system, I mean without my user data in it, Bluetooth pairing is easy and working. After I'm trying restore my data, I'm loosing all of my pairings and can't pair anything. I have one backup with pairings in it and when I'm restoring from that backup all devices are working. But my problem is it is an old backup. After I tried to restore my Bluetooth Pairing from that backup with the Titanium Backup PRO I couldn't do it and it is not working.
Today I've installed EB13 and have RFS. But problem still here. It was pairing when system was new but after I've restored my data I couldn't pair anything.
Can somebody give me some advice how to fix the problem? If I will try to install fresh system and pair my devices first, what is better way to restore my Call logs/ SMS/MMS/Accounts info? I can think of something else but I think those I'm really need to restore. Can I restore all of it with MyBackup PRO? IS it working? What is better way to do it?
Please, help me?
Thank you very much and God Bless you!
I had to use (turn off bluetooth), adb shell, su, go into /data/misc/bluetoothd/ then I renamed/added _ to the file there. "mv xx:xx:xx:xx:xx to xx:xx:xx:xx:xx_" (which should be the MAC address of the phones bluetooth radio)..
Then turned back on bluetooth.. And that fixed pairing. Good luck.

I was running into a very similar issue as the OP. I had just switched to EXT4, but otherwise my device was 100% the same as before, and every time I tried to connect my headset to the phone, I would get a force close with Settings. I tried what you suggested above, and low and behold, it seems to work just fine.

Hi!
I've wiped everything from HTC hero, installed latest modaco custom rom (2.9) and all seems fast and fine.
Now I want to restore contacts, sms, and rest which I had backed up using the "Backup for Root Users" app. It does not work.
I tried both the old and the new version (=Backup). I know I have all the required sqlite .db files (I can even view them with other sqlite tools).
How can I fix this?
Thanks in advance.

Finally it did work.
just for the record: next time would be helpfull to know why or how it did not work. this was more like: " my car does not start, but the gas tank is full. why?"
did you figure out what went wrong?
I would be very interested to know how you got this to work and why it was going wrong too.
When i tried to use it, i backed it up ok, could see all the required files on my SDcard, but when i went to restore, it didnt restore anything on my phone.
Can anbody tell me how i can use back up for root users to restore the back up.
I'm in the process of switching to Cyanogenmod, I've backed up all my apps and setting using Titanium backup and I'm wondering if I can restore all my bluetooth and wifi settings? Are they stored in the same format across the different ROM types?
Regards,
Richard
If I recall, if you use the google service to backup the phone it should restore the wifi settings when it syncs. I am unsure of bluetooth.
I can now confirm the using Titanium backup to restore the Bluetooth settings does bad things... I had to do a factory reset to be able to pair with my headphones.
After the restore they appeared in the list of devices but would not connect or even delete properly.
R.
I wouldn't try and restore anything system-related if you're changing ROMs, that's just asking for trouble and weird problems.
Do you have that many WiFi networks and Bluetooth devices that doing it manually would be a problem ?

Oh yeah, even transfering system related settings between different versions of same rom is often troublesome...

So I've posted another thread about losing mobile cell services when my backed up /system folder is restored and this led me to messing around with advanced restore (after a fresh install). I realized that when I restore my backed up /data folder, I lose wife tether (as opposed to a fresh install which wifi tether does work on).
Any idea's on a fix without having to completely reinstall the ROM? All else works fine but tethering a must for me at this time and after other issues I've had I'm not interested in reinstalling and resetting up my phone.

I think that some people had similar issues and used something along the lines of
Code:
restorecon /data/misc/wifi
But I'm not entirely sure... I'm doing that from memory of something I recall reading 3 weeks ago.
Hey guys, anyone know how to back up quick remote settings or profiles. I tried to use titanium backup but once i restore its as if i've never used it....
Any had success? Any ideas?

did you restore it with data (in titanium)?
Of course, but still doesn't work...

I noticed it backs up my remotes layout but the buttons dont work... for example my monitor has the channels greyed out (no tuner) but upon restore they arent and obviously dont work. None of the remotes work...

Did you figure this out?
I would like to know how to backup my remotes too
Unfortunetely no... I just re set them up... I remmember my haier tv is the third remote... The rest are on the first try.
My new dilemma is that the g3 rom removed some devices... I no longer have an option for my a/c...

Weird, I used Titanium Backup on Jelly Bean and KitKat and managed to restore remotes completely every single time.
If i did restore. It was only the layouts... But when you pressed any button it didnt work. At all.
Did anyone ever figure this out? I would love to not have to rebuild and relearn all my settings if I decide to wipe my lgg2.
Thanks
You can restore data at any time. It even worked for me on CM12 (flash QuickRemote, restore data only, remotes and settings are there).
Has anyone found a solution for this yet? I need to factory reset my phone but can't afford to lose my QuickRemote data, as my projector remote is broken and I can't find a replacement.
LG Backup or Titanium. Be sure to restore app data only. Works for me since Jelly Bean.
Found SQlite database on android folder: /data/user/0/com.lge.qremote/databases
Tried to make some SQL inserts and insert buttons via database queries.
Worked, buttons show on layout but do not work.
I was trying to send my settings to other people.
On the processes, backing up the "qremotesettings.db" file worked as backup.
Stupid question, but does the built in LG backup app not work?
Hi all, been trying to solve this problem for a while, can't seem to figure it out.
Yesterday, when my phone died and I charged and turned it back on, the recents and home buttons wouldn't work, in addition to my notifications not showing and the quick settings drawer not coming down. This seems to be a problem others have ran into. Here's what I've tried so far:
clearing dalvik cache and regular cache
updating my ROM (I use AICP)
restoring an old backup of AICP
starting my phone in safe mode (all errors persist)
using ADB to attempt to get into the SetupWizardTestActivity as advised here
The error I get from this:
Code:
adb shell am start -n com.google.android.setupwizard/.SetupWizardTestActivity
Starting: Intent { cmp=com.google.android.setupwizard/.SetupWizardTestActivity }
java.lang.SecurityException: Permission Denial: starting Intent { flg=0x10000000 cmp=com.google.android.setupwizard/.SetupWizardTestActivity } from null (pid=12048, uid=2000) not exported from uid 10072

I also tried switching from my user to a Guest user, but it won't allow me to go into the Users. At this point, I decided to take a backup on my laptop and factory reset, but after plugging my phone into my laptop, I realized I can't change the USB connection type from charging to mass storage (or whatever it is) to access the files on my laptop since I can't see notifications. This lead me to Developer Options, where I get the message "Developer options are not available for this user."
So then I tried to make an activity in Nova for the SetupTestActivity as detailed here, but the closest thing I can find in there is under Settings about activating the cellular service, and when I try to use that I just get "Permission denied" error.
After all of this, I looked into backing up my device via ADB using this command:
Code:
adb backup -apk -shared -all
It tells me to unlock my device to confirm the backup operation, but there is nothing shown on my device indicating a confirmation.
Then I went into my file manager (I use Xplore) and it indicates that my device is not rooted. I don't know how that could've happened, although I have not tried re-rooting it to see if that helps. Any suggestions or do I just have to do a factory reset and lose all my data?

Why not use TWRP to create a newer backup? You can also use TWRP's MTP to move anything off the phone you want. Then flash a full Google image with flash-all.bat. You can try it without the -w switch first if you like. I doubt it's a hardware issue, but stranger things have happened, and returning to stock briefly will let you know right away.

I ended up uploading my Titanium backups/other files I wanted to keep to Google Drive and factory resetting, but now the setup wizard keeps crashing. Think I'm gonna try a full wipe and flash of AICP again to see if that does it.

Okay, hope that works for ya. Nowadays with Google backup for market apps and TiBu for everything else, it doesn't take long (less than one hour) to completely wipe, clean install, and restore everything back the way it was. Especially if you have a good internet connection. I use my Solid Explorer to zip the TiBu folder into a single file and transfer that off to my PC. Try that next time and see if it saves you some time. My TiBu zip files are well over 1GB, so I don't u/l them to the cloud. Curious if you have TWRP why you did not have MTP file transfer from recovery to laptop?

It worked! And all my Titanium backups + photos are still intact on my phone? Seems strange to me. I hadn't thought of zipping my TiBu folder, good idea!
As for using TWRP to transfer to laptop, I'm not sure how that process works! I'll look around in TWRP once I'm done restoring everything to see what you mean, good to keep in mind for the future. Thanks for the help!
My honor got the same problem... I know they were working but now they don't.. what should i do??
