I searched through the forum, but found nothing relevant to my phone/carrier. Anyone heard anything about the 2.1 OTA update from T-Mobile?

There are actuly hundreds of web pages that discuss this so you didnt do to much searching.
The 2.1 Android update will hit between Now and the end of May. Ranging from the NEW mytouch/Fender LE, Cliq, Cliq XD... The old 32b Mytouch will most likely not get a full 2.1... The G1 sure as hell cant handle 2.1, but supposedly a stripped version of 2.0 is being made for it.
Google Tmobile 2.1 ota update.
Can't wait. Stripped version or not.
I agree, it doesn't really matter if it's stripped down or not. It just means there will be driver for the 2.0+ roms... imagine the improvement this will make for the current eris and legend roms.
We need to close this thread. There are DOZENS of threads regarding the 2.1 update. Do we need another?
Wow, looks like no one ever had anything positive to say when you ask a question. Seems arrogance gets the best of "devs" these days. I pride myself in finding the information myself when needed, but according to some I didn't search enough. Now look, it's almost august and no 2.1 for a lot of devices. You could have simply resisted the urge to share your arrogance and just not posted at all. Thanks for truly helping, you are a credit to the human race!

Alright. That's enough!
I'm going to "jump in" and close this redundant thread.
@OP, NOBODY in this forum knows exactly when or even if the update will be released. Anyone that says otherwise is misleading you. Even if the person has reliable information through reliable sources it is still up to the carrier to release the update and I don't have to tell you how much can change at the last minute thus making those reliable sources unreliable.
If you want any information about future OTA updates contact your provider.
If they don't know then what makes you think that any of us does?
Thread closed.
Surprise another king post got closed.
However, the original rom dev gave explicit permission to use his work - considering its aosp - no reverse engineering etc etc - who cares about king, he did what any of us could have done...
Took something, started tinkering, released early what he had and went out into the real world. With, hopefully, the intention of finishing his work later.
Could cyanogen etc be pissed because he, jubeh, dferreria etc al beat them to a release?
Don't get me wrong I appreciate all devs but *****ing because someone did exactly what the op suggested people do - give me a break and the forums...

This was posted by Rikard in his blog...check out the comments section on the blog in the post named We’re Co-sponsoring 500Gs, Glu Game Dev Competition..this is what he writes...
Hello guys we are very sorry for not updating you, our beloved customers. Our developers finalize that on june 15, 2011 the expected Gingerbread update will be out. After this update our developers will focus on other models such as x8, mini and mini pro to be updated on 2.3
I'm not blind lol but nice, even though I don't have any of those phones, its good to know SE actually cares about reputation for caring about the customers now. It makes me want to stay with the company for my next phone.
haha ...well the font was just to emphasize...

A Dev releases a ROM and post in the Dev Section.
Cool!!
Months later, that Dev has upgraded his ROM 2 3, hell 5 times or lkek now, a new GB OTA is out and another new upgrade.
Is it so hard to just start a new thread??
I HATE that the first post is updated, sometimes barely updated, and then the next 90 pages are about the original release from months ago.....
Half the time, the update log is barely legible (ie. Fixed Cam - well, WHEN!!!?? On WHICH release?? Can you provide a god damn date or something??)\, there's now 27 files to d/l, mods, etc.
XDA has the most brilliant DEVs in the world, and the least organized......
No wonder so many noobs are constantly asking what's the best ROM, etc...
The Dev section is a friggin' nightmare.....

I can't disagree with what you're saying.
Contact "svetius" he is the "user experience admin"
HipKat, I typically agree with you but in this case I have to wonder if you didn't od on your "ungrateful pills" this morning.
My unsolicited advice is: Start developing roms, then make a new thread every time you update the roms you develop.
just a suggestion...maybe when a thread is started and commented on the more recent posts would come to the front. in other words opposite of how it is now. oldest on last page and most recent on first page. the original post would stay on the front page though....

I have Dev'd before, on the Moment:
http://forum.sdx-developers.com/index.php?topic=9644.0
Perfect example though, is the awesome work xHausx has done, but looking at his OP now, it's like wtf is what?? And I'm not being ungrateful, not at all. I'm VERY grateful and appreciative of the work done here, but is that a pass for making it harder to follow?? Magnus starts new threads for all his releases, and that makes it easier for the mentally challenged people, like me... King, too, makes the OP solely about the new release and pushes the older releases down in the thread...
Grrr.. it's just been a bad week....
It doesn't even call for a new thread, just clean up the OP a little.
Sorry about the bad week. You will come around.

I am so tired of the "well, why do You start Dev'ing ROMs, then you can ***** all you want" malarkey. and the "if you have a negative criticism about anything at all, you are an ungrateful bastard".
while I don't necessarily agree with the vehemence of the OP, I can relate.
I wish sometimes there was at least a consistent Thread Title format with date updated info at least. (Examples being Myns, aamikams and virus.)
Just look at date the op was last updated then skip to that date in the thread and start reading. That's what I always do, who am I to complain about what someone is doing for free when they could be doing so many other things.

I think the point is this forum is for all and any improvements to the ease of use, especially for newer folks, is always welcome.
That's why I suggested contacting the user experience admin.
The idea that someone doesn't dev so they should have no input is silly.
That's why I wait a while and let a few people test it and talk about what's new and then try it out myself.

I see your point, but I think it should be a decision made by each Dev. Some prefer to keep all release related posts in one thread. This seems more like a thread format issue. Maybe its the ocd part of me, but I read every post before flashing.

The one problem I have is everyone getting flamed for not reading all 4000000 posts before asking questions. Just answer the question and move on. The search feature, which doesn't work in the xda app, is horrible and almost never turns up good results unless you search through a few hundred posts. Just my .02.

The search function would be great if the results showed up in reverse chronological order
I actually don't see the issue. In fact, its a lot easier to see the new Rom he's updated on page 1 versus page 54685254. But then again you must be a noob and not understand.

Looks like Kenneth from Briefmobile has identified a release in July for the Atrix 4g. In addition, it appears, we won't be going straight to 2.3.4 after all. It'll start with 2.3.3.
For once, I think it would be nice to have the latest release on our Atrix, but I suppose that's a bit much to ask. Here's to hoping it's not a July 31 release date.

OH I know.
We were ALL there at one point...
Actually,
I think he meant us Lazies.
Thanks for the link.
AT&T only?
It took Australia 4 months to get the Atrix released here, I live in hope that it doesn't take Telstra/Motorola an extra 4 months to release the 2.3.3 update.
However, living in hope only leads to disappointment.
Too bad it's not 2.3.4... I really can't imagine there are enough changes in that version that it would take so long to put blur on it.
Means August or September for us on Bell. Maybe.
Sigh.
Well, they did say they planned to release Gingerbread to the Atrix for USA and Europe simultaneously............don't know if that included Canada lol
Hey guys what us different 2.3.3 and 2.3.4?

The discussion for this is already going on in Kenneths thread in the development forum where he announced this news in an update. Why create another thread to clutter things up when the owner of the information already updated it the day before you posted this???

A software release discussion is more beneficial to users here in the general section. Since I'm not a developer or have any interest in coding I don't spend any time there. It's not "cluttering" anything up.

I would disagree............all the good news comes from the developer forum, and if you don't read there, you will not learn anything, or have any root, sideloading, etc. because that's where everything is regarding that. Kenneths thread is open discussion about the impending updates, etc. He is not developing it, now is he?...............but it is a development regarding the Atrix nonetheless.

I didn't say he was developing it but the assumption is that the developer section is for people that want to code custom ROMs, hax, etc. There are plenty of general users that aren't advanced that are looking for information and come to the general section.
You guys will want 2.3.4, android 2.3.3 has an android os bug thag drains battery life, 2.3.4 fixes that issue
