I am using this (AmeriCanAndroid) and i don't have a google account setup (only facebook). At "add account" i have only corporate and facebook and if i try to use corporate for google connection it doesn't connect and give an error at the end. More than this i receive lots of "Stopped unexpectedly" errors from com.google.android.gsf (process com.google.process.gapps) which i think come from not syncing with a google account.
Also i can't use gmail app (obviusly), gtalk and some other apps (market, dspmanager, googles, etc.)
My questions are (since i can't post into dev forums at that certain thread):
- Is this a generalized problem with Gingerbread 2.3.2/with this version which i'm using or is just me?
- any ideea how can i solve these problems, especially the gmail syncing since i need my contacts from there
Thanks for any help.
Have a wonderful day!

Anyone else experiencing the following issues:
1. When attempting to download a Market app, error message states the download was unsuccessful and try again.
2. GMail doesn't appear to be synching - have to manually refresh to check for mail. Read messages are not synched to web-based Gmail app (they will still show as unread).
For me, this all started yesterday evening.
Thanks - P
same here, Also I cant use Gtalk either on mobile, gmail, windows, linux, gtalk, pidgin... anything :S! Maybe something is ****ed up with our G accounts.
Having the same problem
From the plethora of posts on Google's Android Market support forum, it appears limited to certain accounts, albeit an issue on Google's end. Sure hope it's addressed soon.
To log the issue with google post here
It would seem that they have acknowledged the issue and are looking into it - Talk, Market and Gmail sync all don't work since 4/22/10
Looks like it working again.
I unistalled the market app and then reinstalled it, shortly after it started working again woo hoo
Does anyone know what the People app for Sense filename is? I'm trying to load an alternate People app from a Desire HD ROM. The Evo version shows all Google contacts and there is no way to turn it off. What I am trying to do is show only the "My Contacts" group. If it works I'll let you guys know! Thanks!

Your post is confusing but I will try to help.
The evo sense people app is htccontacts.apk. The google contacts is handled by googlecontactssyncadapter.apk.
You can stop the google contact sync by unchecking "sync contacts" under gmail sync in accounts & sync (if you have gmail auto syncing) or you can uninstall googlecontactssyncadapter.apk.
I have uninstalled googlecontacts and googlecalender sync adapters with no ill effects.
Unsyncing or uninstalling will stop google contacts from appearing in htccontacts (sense people). If you have google contacts in there already you will have to delete them manually AFTER you have disabled googlecontact syncing or uninstalled the googlecontactsync adapter.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I was brief in my first post but here's a longer explanation.
The People app on the Evo shows ALL of your Gmail contacts. However, there are some contacts that I've placed in a group called "Unused Contacts." If you check your contacts in Gmail, you will find that there is a group called "My Contacts." That is where I keep my most frequently used contacts.
On my phone, while browsing the contacts in the People app, every contact in my Gmail account is enumerated, including those in the "Unused Contacts" group.
However, the People app on my old phone (HTC Hero) had the ability to choose which contact groups you wanted to view. It was through a menu option within the People app. That was the feature that I was trying to replicate.
I went ahead and downloaded a ROM from the Desire HD forums. I have heard that the People app in the Desire HD had this feature enabled. I pushed the HtcContacts.apk file to my own phone's /system/app folder using adb. However, when I restarted the phone, the app just force closed on me. After playing around with it for a while, I was still not able to get it to work, so I just restored a Nandroid backup.
Hope that's clear enough for you
I can't test the google contact sync since I don't use it and for the reason you mentioned above.
The evo people app has a view option when you hit menu while viewing all your contacts but again I can't test filtering since I don't sync contacts to my gmail.
As for installing the people app, uninstall the stock one and try installing the desire version via a flash zip.
I find adb to be picky sometimes when pushing system apps. I had an instance where I had to restore my system app bluetooth and the only way to install it correctly was to flash it via recovery.
Hope that helps.
I have been looking for this fix for forever!!
I have the same gripe all the other HTC phones have the ability to filter the google contacts.
Were you able to figure this out? I would love to be able to do this.
So after updating to 3.1 market book stopped working unless I choose to make them availab offline. I've tried couple of books like
Emaa by jane austing and Walden by henery david thoreau
If some one can't try to open them and tell me what happens I'd really appreciate it
There error I get is "a problem occured while trying to open this book"
Thanks
It seems that the problem is related to gmail account. Deleting my primary gmail account and using another one seems to solve the problem. when I re-use my primary gmail account, the problem resumes.
anyone know how can I fix this?
Hi, I tried searching for something like this on xda and I couldn't find anything. On my galaxy s2 the calendar app just doesn't sync with my Google mail account. I go into calendar it asks me to go to he Google account sync setting to sync calendar, even though the tick box for sync calender is checked, I click sync now anyway. After it has finished I go back to the calendar app, and it asks me to do the the same thing again. My contacts and even wallpaper form my old phone were synced propyl from my Google account but not my calendar. I just can't seem to find any reason why it isn't working. I've never had any problems like this before on my old rooted htc desire, where was flashing new roms weekly, so why on my galaxy s2. Would someone be able to help me please?
Just wanted to say I have the same problem, hopefully someone can help us.
I think it might be the Samsung social hub, together with the inability if kies to sync with google, and an assumption that you might want to use kies (or a lack of testing with the google calendar)
Try removing your social hub facebook account, and maybe deleting all the calendar data on the phone (under settings/applications/calander) so long as you are confident you have nothing stored locally without a backup.
I find the social hub facebook integration useless at the moment, since it doesn't hide declined invitations for me, so I'm going back to trying the google integration (which means i get birthdays spamming my calendar instead)

I have never used the Social Hub or Kies or even set any calender events on the phone itself but just clearing the calender data did fix the problem, and my Google calender events started syncing.
Thanks

Hi, i had the same issue and i am using a uk generic rom unrooted. problem seems to have corrected itself now. Wat seemed to cure it for me was to sync over my mobile network instead of wifi.

i also had this problem. i fixxed it within checking apps and delete the calendarfiles completely. after this the sync worked. its a problem of google, which have some android users (not only sgs2)
Hi everyone,
i received my mate 8 (NXT-AL-10) with google play store installed. everything seem to be working well but i noticed in the phone settings/Apps that some google service apps are missing (google services framework, google account manager, google backup transport , google partner set up and many more...).
so my questions are:
- what is google services framework for? do i need it?
- what is google account manager for? do i need it too?
and what about the others? backup transport, partner set up.. are they all needed ?
can someone provide a list of all google apps and services that are installed and needed as it is on the international version?
thanks very much for helping
Hi.... Download the google installer from the Internet.. Type google installer in google.com

I think all these things are marshmallow permission issues
Go into settings, permission manager, select apps and add permissions to contact sync and calendar

hi Martyn,
thanks for that.. i did all this but the problem persist. it looks like the problem is the doze as it is for notifications. it doesn't sync automatically every time. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
