Did you have the "My Apps" section?
"my apps' gets replaced with "att" for branded phones. really annoying. If you hit menu and then downloads i believe that brings up the same screen as "my apps"

I wasn't updating for some reason so I went into manage apps then market.. had to clear cache / data. Went in to market for a few min then exited out and bam! new market when going back in.
It took about 10-20 minutes before it updated me from the old market to the new one.

So since I am new the the N1, does my pre-installed Facebook app get the update or do I need to install the store version for it to apply?

check in the downloads section of the market it should say "update available" if you don't have the latest version
I did that...I have version 1.1.3, but the market is version 1.2...yet it does not say update available, in fact Facebook does not show up in my Downloads section because it was installed on my phone when I got it a week ago.
It's there. It was just posted a bit ago.
Think you have to have installed it from the market before it'll inform you about an update.

Definitely.
Well it is not in my Downloads and I think I know the reason. I did not download the app. The app was pre-installed and not downloaded. So if I go into the market, into Downloads, there is no Facebook. I guess I have to install it from the market to get the update.
Makes me glad Google is taking apps out of the OS in the future.

Hmm... even though it came pre-installed, it still shows up in my Downloads. Applications like Google Voice and Google Maps, which were all pre-installed when I got my phone, all shows up in my Downloads. Weird.
that is weird. None of those are in my Downloads. I only have those apps I have installed. Maybe I am doing something wrong?
all we need now is for alerts to take us to the post instead of the web
Just bought my Fascinate a couple days ago. This phone is sick, but my Market is spazzing out. When I signed into my Gmail account my apps didn't automatically restore like they're supposed to. I also only have tabs for Free and Just In, nothing for Paid and overall everything on it (the Market) runs very slow. I tried a factory reset to no avail, so I'm a little lost now...any ideas?
I believe the auto restore feature is a 2.2 feature. The other tabs you're used to seeing might be from 2.2 as well. We're running 2.1.
I actually had the same issue on mine while my wifes was fine. I just basically done a battery pull and when it came back up it was fine.
No, I know it's not because it's android 2.1. I had the droid before the fascinate which had 2.1 and it definitely had a tab for paid apps. That's not normal no matter what version of android it is. There's also the fact that it runs extremely slow that I can't figure out. It literally can take up to a minute to open an app page. =P
Run wifi while on market there has been some hiccups on vzw network the last few days and while in the market hit menu and then downloads. That will show all of ur paid apps
they call me...kick ass

I've been at work the past couple of days and we've got a WiFi connection that I use w/ my phone. It doesn't make a difference afaik. And I know my paid apps show up in my Downloads, but what I'm saying is if you go into Market, and pick an app category, there are only buttons for Top Free and Just In. There is nothing for Top Paid.
I had the same problem with mine when I had it. Just download one of your already purchased paid apps and it will fix the market issue

Didn't work. =[
Interesting twist, though. I reset my phone again and signed into a different Gmail account that doesn't have all my apps on it including purchased ones and it worked perfectly. Anyone have any idea why that may be, or would i be better off consulting Google on that one?
Does anyone's Google map appeared uninstalled in the android market? It keeps listing Google maps as an app not installed at the bottom of "my app" list. I reinstall it on my device each time, but every so often it reappear at the bottom the list as uninstall.
I've got this too -- also have it with the YouTube app.
I'm not sweating it, it'll probably get fixed in a subsequent OTA.
In "Market ", mine constantly shows as "downloading ".

Go to settings -> applications -> manage -> and clear data from market. Don't download youtube from the market because it's not the honeycomb optimized version (atleast wasnt for me)

Having the same problem. I've already tried the "clear data" approach, but it still does it. Not worried about it though because both apps work just fine for me, but it does need to be fixed.

Already did unfortunately. I think there was a youtube app right? that was somewhat honeycomb optimized? how do i get that back?
Its likely that the preinstalled versions do not exist on the market yet. It doesn't detect the newer version so it shows you maps since you probably have it installed on another device. Just don't worry about it. Once the first honeycomb maps update is out, it will fix itself.

I get this too, it does not bother me that it shows as not installed, even when i tell it to install it again, what gets me is that it keeps on giveing me that market icon that tells me there is an update or something else.
.
I have been trying to install some Tecarta Bibles most of the day and get to the point where the app has been purchased and the "starting download" msg is displayed. I have waited and waited and waited for more than 15 minutes or so with that msg still displayed and then aborted the downloads.
After looking at the "my apps" page I see that two of the apps I bought several hours ago are still shown as downloading. While I am watching, one of the apps finished and installs, but the other one is still trying to finish downloading.
Is anyone else having this problem? Surely their servers aren't that bogged down.
Sounds like a connection issue.
No problems here on AT&T
Running on WiFi
I am running on wifi and everything else on the web downloads fast, so am at a loss.
Try clearing your market data.
Go to manage application, find market, then clear data.
android market has been slow-ish for the last 5 days and will probably be slow-ish for the next 5 days.
google are having a sale on the android market to celebrate 10 billion downloads. every day a different set of apps will be sold for 10c. at the moment we're up to day 5, so 5 more days to go.
Thanks

That got rid of the stuck download, thanks.
Now to figure out why my downloads are so slooooow!
That must be it
Not sure if the 10 cent downloads are worth the aggravation of the slow downloads. Haven't really checked to see what is offered for the 10 cents.
from two day,i have problem with Market
all my application installed, isn't show in "my Application" page...
i think there is a problem with server...
Anyone have same problem???
Missing Apps
I have that problem also, with one of the apps I downloaded today.
i have a problem too, i think is for this days, :S with the "1 billon downloads" because i can't download paid apps from market and from website market, well i think they don't want my 0.10 $ LoL
Hello
I've just received my Nexus 4 and updated to 4.2.2 and associated it with a Google account however I'm unable to updated all the pre installed apps such as Talk, Google, YouTube, etc. The 'My apps' section doesn't shows any pre installed apps. Does this means I have to go in each and every app page and hit update from there
?
Thanks

It's really a one time thing with each pre-installed app that has an update available in the market. If you go to "Play Store > My Apps > All" they will likely be grouped at the bottom of this list.

Thanks for reply. I did looked into the 'All' list but it shows only the apps that I've installed via Play Store not the apps built in. I clearly remember my GN2 showed updates even for the pre installed when I switched it on for the first time.
So is this a normal behaviour in Nexus devices, and if yes, I'll actually need to open the app's respective page and then hit 'Update' from there?
Thanks
OK I don't know what happened, the updates started to show. Thanks all.

How long did it take before this happened? My wife's new phone isn't offering updates to the pre-installed apps, although if I search for each one individually they have updates available. It's been roughly 24 hours and they still aren't showing up. Thanks.

Roughly, 3 hours. Play Store started showing when I switched to a WiFi connection. I guess, it depends upon the Internet speed.
It's because a auto backup feature. To reinstall previous bought apps etc to your new phone.
It goes away after a little bit
