I would agree. The question is.... when? Everything I've read says "sometime in the fall".
Well, Google has a lot at stake in Froyo, so I hope that they're going to make sure it's fully baked before they release it. Plus they have the Flash factor - another reason to hold it until that's really done.
Given that, I don't expect 2.2 to appear in official OTA's for at least a couple of months and then HTC Sense builds are always behind the general release. Then you add the delay from the service providers (incl. Verizon) and Froyo OTA for Incredible in the Fall is almost optimistic =:-o
Rooted phones will always have it sooner...
Has the N1 not had the official Froyo OTA for weeks now?
They started deploying to the N1 and then stopped. Much speculation abounds about why, but no official explanation that I've seen. My g/f has a N1 and is about to drive me crazy wondering when she's gonna get Froyo. And when she does, I'm sure I'll be jealous for a few months

I was reading some phone webite and it said the offical release from Verizon was to be expected in August. Take that with a grain of salt as we all know how these "official" dates can move around at will.
a vzw rep told me that it was coming out july 15-16.

omg haha...his twitter really is ridiculous. He is begging koush for cyanogen froyo rom. And obviously im sure koush wont give him a thing to "test" it for him, but I can bet he would rip it off of him first chance he got, only to come here and the rest of the android community and try convincing people he is the best developer ever.
It really is so sad that he tries to play make believe with his mad developer skills, yet all i can do is crack up at his fabricated stories. He is just sooo absurd. We have all seen how he posts things and finally after being backed into a corner by people who really know what they are talking about, he crumbles and apologizes with things like "im sorry im trying...i just love to develop and hack droids...uh dur". The way this kid acts on these forums mirrors his awesome youtube videos to a "T".
Anyway def needs ip ban. His "roms" and other methods and claims are really going to end up bricking some good and honest people new to android, or at the very least give the community forums some bad rep.

And if they told you Verizon was going GSM tomorrow, would you be gullible enough to believe that, too?
Seriously, a run of the mill VZW employee has no insight whatsoever into the release. Only a core group, none of which are going to be dealing with customers, is going to be in the know regarding a target date. That guy in the store or on the other end of the phone... he isn't privy to any kind of information about this just yet.
Hell, at this point, HTC states that they haven't even finished their work on Froyo. After they're done with their work, they perform testing. After that, it goes to VZW for them to do further testing and then get signed off on. All of this isn't going to happen in the next two weeks.
Guys im wondering ... if you could get rid of your fascinate for a different model which would it be? Doesnt have to be Android. Just wondering cause I think im done with android and fascinates underacheiving. The applications just arent there yet.
Ofcourse since im on verizin there are no other choices but come xmas/new years im certain there will be.

If I HAD to get a different phone, the only viable option would be the Droid X.
I would LOOVVEE me some windows phone action. They are breaking down so many barriers. You're right android sucks. I am so sick of having choices and options. I long for the day that I get to stare at a lackluster ui and colored blocks. And don't get me wrong I love the fascinate and does everything I want it to do. Being stuck with that metro ui interface and waiting and hoping for some apps to be developed does have a certain attraction.

I sincerely hope you switch to the Iphone so you can make use of Grindr (not yet supported on android, and probably the inspiration for his applications gripe) as much as you want and stop making these retarded posts.

Seriously, it'll take at least two cores, a front facing camera, 4G, simultaneous calls and data, and native 1080p for me to even consider replacing my phone. I'd even be willing to settle for gingerbread. They can slog it down with all the bloatware and awkward file systems they want, as long as it roots. IOS has a rich app base, but it just feels suffocating for me to use it. I think this community is spectacular, disregarding the occasional burst of irrelevant or misplaced threads. I'm a first time smartphone user though, so I guess I don't know what I'm missing.

Themes for Android just arent my thing. No devs makin apps and its androids fault in not implementing solid DRM protection. Just Sad!
i was gonna go windows mobile 7 cause i love the UI but the browser stinks. I might get pulled into a Iphone if it ever comes to Verizon.

Please find a different forum to go spamming and pissing other people off in. xda is a forum for developers and modders. It's not for people to sit around and complain about their phone, request crap that doesn't exist, and or ask for themes that no one wants to develop for this phone.

i really want root to flash wildpuzzle looks so good
give them a chance, you want them to drop everything and work on a program for the wildfire that they make no money from. i'm sure these people have lives too, and it's been all of about 5 weeks since update. patience people

no,they probably has it, they probably want to do some surprise with nice interface etc stuff, i do not belive that team unrevoked can not find any exploit in wf.
Everything is hackable,look at greenpois0n, redsn0w etc...they jailbreaked iphoine4 and now they are cracking soft 4.2.1, iphone 4 users also has to wait if they did update to 4.2.1...
So my point is ->this will be done, they are superb good and this is just matter of time.

I highly doubt they would delay releasing it just to suprise us with an interface. Id rather root my phone with a command line now than a nice UI in a few weeks time

finding an exploit in a bootloader(!!!) is little different then writing simple hello world program or whatever scenario you are thinking about. and if these inpatient folks here keep spamming the board with a new troll thread every day then I really hope there will be NO unrevoked. so please just keep waiting for it and stop annoying people! Btw the wildfire is already a great device even without root access so what's your problem???? you can still use your android!!! I used mine for months before even trying to root it!

they wrote this a month ago or so, and theres no news... if they had something they would have said something... so i guess they dont have anything at all...
My guess is that nobody cares about the WF. Why no updates or anything? Not a word... I kick myself for accepting the OTA allthoug I didn't now about rooting or this site then.
I am looking at HW unlocking to get S-OFF permanently.

greatful of? All the information and statusupdates that they share on the progress? I can't understand why its so hard to just post a simple statusupdate of the progress if there is any or just tell ppl that the project is no longer alive. Just say something.

You dont have to be grateful of anything. No one is saying you to go ga-ga over them and pay them with your money and stuff like that. But, there is no reason to simply go and badmouth them, because, they are not obliged to release something for you. I will not be going into the "they have personal lives / it is their freetime project" and stuff like that, because it has already been explained by many others.
If they want to share a status update, they will,. If they dont feel like it, they wont. Don;t like that? Too bad there is nothing to do for end users like you and me. Just to remind you, this is the way the system works for all devices. I am yet to see some project where the dev gives out regular status updates. (I have an iOS Device, A Sony PS3 and many Nokia Symbian Devices, and, in all cases, when a project is ready to be released, it is released)
So just to reiterate, you don;t have to be grateful, but, there's no reason to go out and badmouth them, simply because it is unwarranted, and, they are not obliged to release something as I said previously.

What an ungrateful arrogant post.
So because you can't get root on your device your going to bad mouth the team at unrevoked because you feel they have not done enough to keep you informed of any progress they may or may not of made with Hboot for Wildfire.
Here's a couple of ideas for you:
If your that bothered about progress why not check out there IRC channel for news
Perhaps consider investing cash into XTC
Try learning Code/programming to crack Hboot (please remember to give us all ten minute updates of how it's going)
Or even better you could quit moaning and bad mouthing unrevoked as they are under no obligation what so ever to help you with a tool for gaining root access to your Wildfire.

I think the Unrevoke now doing root with new version of HTC phone, so that they don't have time to do root with Wildfire.
That's mean, we never have a rooted Wildfire Froyo phone.

please do not forget, the devs of unrevoked and all others do have a real live, too. They ´ll do it for free.

I have seen first hand proof of this working. I had an evo 3d. Htc decided all futre devices would have locked bootliaders well that made alot of people angry. Someone posted a thread on xda suggesting we let htc know that is not gna fly. So it turnd out thousands of people got on there facebook wall and twitter. Guess what the next day htc released a statement saying that they wanted too keep there coustamers happy and that the bootloader would be unlocked. They were. Id like to be able too have a device and not have too get a new one juzt because moto or htc or sammy wants too put them out constantly get people too buy them and then ditch them and out out another. The atrix is 100 percent capable of runing ics and theres no excuae for it l not too recieve it just because moto wants people too buy new devices every couple months. I know many many people feel the same way well as i said we have the power too change that if people would stop bickering and take it seriously. And also if moto started supporting devices longer not just bug fixes but the new android flavors. Id definately make my next device a moto it would do nothing but benefit them

Ok, I'm not trying to be a ****, but I have to say that if you're trying to get a point across, it's always better to make it easy to read. No one's going to care about your point if they can't even understand what it is. You could have a good, valid point, and no one knows because they can't figure out what it is.
Don't blame the phone company. No service provider will buy an update and release it to eol phones like ours.
