Got my Atrix - Atrix 4G General

Had it a few hours. Great quality all round much better than Captivate. Apps have to be reinstalled individually from old phone. Lots to configure and figure out. Taskpanel reports 500 mega free as opposed to 50 on the Cativate!! Some apps will need udating to work...like vplayer for instance. Launcher pro works but you lose motoblur widgets which is fine. Very very happy with the upgrade. This will fly when I am done with it. Keyboard feels great and has predictive text. Great phone worth it.

Thanks for the update can't wait till I get mine!

I would have to agree with the OP. The gorilla glass and high resolution are very nice as well. I don't have any complaints thus far. Much faster than my captivate and faster than the Inspire.

Zeam dev is working on it again

Zeam launcher has been updated to 2.8.8, which means Cloakt is working on it again. Fiured i'd share since some people might've liked it.

Word! Thanks for the heads up. I rocked this launcher hard for a while but ultimately had to switch it up because it wasn't being supported at all.
I've been running LP for a few months (love it). What do you guys like about Zeam? How does it compare w/LP?
Thanks!
Interesting, didn't realize it had been abandoned. Been using it since I found it on my hero. The best. Everything I do need (lotsa small icons in dock) and nothing I don't.

Zeam pretty much doesn't have any special features at all. Vertical scrolling app drawer. I loved it because it was so lightweight and I keep six apps in the dock. Super no frills.

New android market first impressions

i just saw the new update for the market and it looks completely different, but much cleaner and sleeker in my opinion what do yall think?
heres the market in action source phonedog.com
http://www.phonedog.com/2011/07/12/...ngs-the-ability-to-buy-books-and-rent-movies/
Of I could charge books and movies to my sprint account like I could for apps it would be perfect
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA Premium App
i would imagine you would be able to in the video its just like buying an app.
Looks like it was inspired by WinMo. But I like it a lot more than the current layout
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Just installed it and it is working fine.
Here is the thread it is in. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15597625#post15597625
Its working fine for me but I just don't know about it, it almost feels sluggish after playing with it I kind of like the old ui better
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
yea the new market feels sluggish, as for the ui look it is nice and different.
Downloaded the new market last night and installed it on my Hero. I love the new look and it moves and processes much quicker for me. Everything working great HERE!!
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA Premium App
Installed and loving it. A little sluggish but quite functional. Maybe it could be included in the CM nightlies (well after a bit of testing)?
the market should just update itself over time for devices on 2.2 and up.
The new market is the shiznit. If someone wants the old one (and can't use the search button) I stil have the transparent BG green 2.3.6 that pendo made.
i actually liked the original 1.5 blacked out market lol.
Not a big fan of the new market ... not 100% sure why, the layout seems a little weird to me

I hate it. I think it's ugly and pretty much useless.
Really, I love it. So much better than the stock UI.

I use it... very responsive and the best looking Home replacement if you ask me. I don't have any problems with it and it seems super fast on my phone.

I've never used it on the Atrix. Bought it when it came out. but it just drained my Desire!
Plus i have always prefered a more stock look. But no denying its really smooth and has fantastic looks.
I use it as well, i like the look of it, it really has some cool eye candy. I haven't noticed too much of a battery drain, wish it had some more widgets though
I have been using it March. I have no complaints. I switch launchers from time to time to try something else but I always come back to sod shell 3d. Espierlauncher is the only other launcher I like on the atrix and I use that to make my wife and friends mad since they all have iPhones. I am running. CM7 and I don't see any extra battery drain with this launcher. Assonance as they make it available for tablets my eeepad will be running it
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
Today's updated added support for tablets! Looks and runs great on my GTab 10.1
I have it and like it but not as much as the cheaper launchers

It sucks. It randomly closes and then when hitting home button has to reload. Too bad because everything else works top notch and its amazing looking.

I used it way back when I had Windows Mobile and I loved it, but for some reason I don't feel it's the same on Android.
Don't get me wrong, it runs good on the Atrix, but it feels like overkill for a launcher.
Maybe if it had more useful widgets I would give it another try.
I always come back to Launcher Pro.
PS. Btw, it's real name is SPB Mobile Shell 3D ;-)

I've been using it on nd off cause it have to freeze my market to use it, its OK but does need more of its own customization and that price is not gettin paid by me lol got the Google search discount

Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Oh well I did. I'm not paying 15$ for a launcher regardless specially this one its got a few nice Widgets yea true but wat is so special that makes it cost 3-4x as much as others ?
Sent from my Atrix-4G, stock 2.3.4 (rooted)
I'd like to try it, but I could never justify $15.00 for a home replacement launcher or almost anything in the app market.
It is a nice launcher, but how customizable it isn't keeps me from using it regularly. Not to mention it frequently crashes with no error, just a black screen then says 'SPB shell is loading...' Navigation and transitions are generic and redundant in some cases. Most of the SPB widgets look nice, but leave a lot to be desired. Updates are infrequent and all the major problems have yet to be resolved.
Its a nice product to demonstrate a futuristic-looking phone but in terms of functionality, it's like putting the steering wheel in the glovebox of a car.
If you haven't checked out Go Launcher recently, I highly encourage it. 100% free, developers update the app at a feverish pace, and it is amazingly customizable.

Claystone Launcher

Anyone play with this yet? I tried it the other night and found it really interesting. Seems like it has a lot of potential and actually feels like getting a completely different phone.

It looks pretty cool. I haven't tried it but I think I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the post.

Yeah, I was using the previous version for awhile, love the completely unique setup and 3D effect... but I was having some stability issues (fcs, issues with the backup/restore function crashing, etc). The great thing, though, is that they are really responsive in that thread to any issues I had, and they seem to have worked hard to resolve the stability issues with the latest release, I've been thoroughly impressed. Once they release the new version they mention without the intrusive title bars, I'll definitely be giving it a shot again.
I have used it quit a bit it looks good and works

I have it, it is very nice, not too many features yet, and it has a very noticeable lag time. Otherwise it looks great and has good ideas, just not implemented to the top standards yet.

I haven't noticed any lag with it And I agree it looks great and has great ideas, but it's just lacking in features. The way I use my phone tho, the missing features don't bother me.
It's a launcher developed by Chris Lacy. He does good work. I use his twitter app, tweet lanes. It's one of the better twitter clients imho. He's very responsive to user feedback. This launcher is in its infancy so it'll get better
muffin approved this message.....
If in its infancy than why charge so much?

$4 is the going rate. It's the same price as apex and Nova even when they were brand new. It's very nice because it's actually different than the standard android launchers besides obviously the $10-17 ones.

I'm using it currently. I like it as it's simple but a bit different to what you normally get. Gotta have the apps list transparent as well as the homescreen bar.

It has become my daily driver. I love the smoothness and the simplicity of it. Very fast too work with and look good. No lag at all here. The covers are great too. Specially for phone and browser.

I'm using this one since today on my Xperia Play ( My N4 hasn't arrived yet.. Germany - 'preordered' ****up )
And it runs smoothly even on this old device.
What stopped me from using it is the app drawer in the top left. It'd be a nuisance for me to reach all the way up there every time I needed to access the drawer o_0

Nova and Apex are free, there are paid versions which you can unlock certain features. Completely different to Action Launcher which doesn't offer a free/trial version.
At least with Nova/Apex you can see how it runs on your device over a day or two compared to Action Launcher which you basically have 15 minutes to trial it and if you don't like it you only have 15 minutes to request a refund.

I was concerned about this too - I think you can open the app drawer with the home button, but some apps you want will still be at the top of the list. Infact, if you use the A-Z most will be at the top.
Does anyone know if there is a way around this (e.g, when you press the letter they are offset from the top by a couple of apps)?
I will certainly keep an eye on this, I was quite impressed with the frequent updates for tweetlanes.
The app drawer isn't really on the top left, you can press the home button and it will open, and you can also just swipe right when you are on your "left most" home screen.
I use this on my Nexus 7, and I think its great, good to see something different and not horrifically overpriced!
For me, all it needs is a landscape option, I wouldn't really use landscape on my N4, but I would use it quite a bit on my N7!
