I tried CM7 on my galaxy tab and decided that I wanted to restore to the original firmware.
After about 6 hours of different combinations, I can't get my keyboard to type any letters.
Whenever I press a letter key, it simply types "null"
I'm stumped. I've tried to restore to previous versions of the firmware to see if that makes a difference, but the restore doesn't finish if it's less than JJ2. Any ideas?

Same heappened to me wenn i flashed Modaco's kernel. What went wrong i dont no. How to solve it without reflashing i dont know.
So i fully flashed pit and rom from scratch. And that solved it.
Make sure ur at the first screen. The one that says touch the android to begin. Use the four corner trick. Start from the left upper corner (hope the tab in portrait) and in a clockwise manner touch each corner of the screen. That will bypass that setup.
From the Tab.

How did you flash it? Odin? which version? Does it work with Heimdall?

So I have a Tmobile Galaxy Tab, and I ****ed it up somehow.
I tried to put clockworkmod on there, and somehow it gives me a black screen every other option, so clockworkmod only shows half the time. But it still works.
Tried to revert to factory via the settings menu, it didn't work. Tried to do it ia clockwork, it didn't work. Tried a few more times and somehow I got it to work, but almost everything that was stock is not here....I"m stuck with nothing but android and some tmobile addons, vending.apk ain't even there.
So, I"m throwing in the towel and would like to know if anyone knows where the stock files for the tab can be found. I looked on the wiki, and it tells you to make a backup before everything is ****ed.
:|
Yep,
As the wiki says there are no recorded firmwares of stock US/Canada tabs for the most part.
If I were you though I'd simply flash JM6 and then JMC ontop of it.
You'll lose all your stuff but your tab will be better off anyways. Performance of the dev firmwares outdoes any of the stock ones. And you'll get a few extra features while you're at it.
My Samsung s5360 stopped working all of a sudden.
I switched on my mobile and typed in the SIM code, I turned on wifi, visited the Google store, had a look at a game and suddenly the screen went black. I thought it's the screensaver that kicked in and clicked the power on button, but from there on it kept rebooting till the "Samsung s5360 young" screen.
I read that these are the symptoms of bricking your device, but I never rooted it nor tried installing a custom ROM. I still have the original Samsung one on it.
I found a website that explains how to simply reset the cache when soft-bricking the mobile, but that didn't help. Do I really have to reinstall the original ROM and lose everything on my mobile? How can such spontaneous bricking happen anyway?

You can restore your phone, you will have to flash odin firmware package. But yes,you will lose your phone data i.e. SMS,call log, contacts, bookmarks etc.To prevent this, you should keep a timely backup of all your stuff.Goodluck
Is there any way to save content from this bricked phone before resetting it? I only used it as a secondary mobile to use a few apps and I think I saved them all to the SD card when installing them, but just in case I forgot some apps or other content...

probleme of the power button
i had this problem befor but a fixed the power button is not work properly
you need to fix it
Guys, if I keep pressing the power button+up+home or power+down, I can get into the reset-menu and Odin mode without the mobile switching off by itself. So stop it, the power button is not broken.
Anyway, I found a stock ROM for my country. I flashed my mobile using Odin3. As soon as it was done, I saw some blue text on my mobile and it reset immediately, but right afterwards the boot loop restarted. I flashed it again for about three times and I still get the boot loop.
Alright, could flash my mobile after an odyssey of downloading hundreds of wrong or faulty ROM archives from dubious sources, unpacking them with Odinatrix which didn't help, going through the hassle of installing Cygwin and searching for Info-Zip, load the single files into Odin3 and finally, finally having my mobile boot up to the home screen.
No, my power button is still not broken.

why are you searching around various sites for stock roms when they are all on my firmware thread already split with splitfus2 ready for flashing with odin - they are all wipe packs too so they will automatically format system and data to avoid bootloops
My firmware thread as ever is at the top of the dev section or links in my signature

Because what you state here is not true. The Swiss stock ROM is not listed in your thread.

its classed as European - you will find that the baseband across all Europe stock roms are the same and the firmware - the only thing that could be different is the csc however I post open csc which means it will work on any device as they are not locked to a certain provider unless stated - eg the teltra Australian one
If you see my which firmware do I need thread you would see that any firmware that starts XX is classed as European
If you require a certain region you need the csc of that region the csc included does not meet your needs
I also have a splitfus2 guide for leaning how to split the firmware yourself from sammobile if you require any firmware which isn't listed on my thread
Hello everyone,
My phone just recently started having this issue, where the screen freezes when it first turns on. If I try plugging it in to charge, it freezes on the battery charging screen; there is no animation that indicates that it is charging. I've tried going into recovery mode but all there is is something that says "MMC: mmc_read fail Movinand Checksum Confirmation Fail". I can, however, go into download mode, where I can install a custom OS. It seems that this screen functions fine and my instinct is telling me that if I want to continue to use my phone, I'll have to reinstall the firmware. I'm not interested in installing a custom OS but I do just want to get my phone back. I did not do anything to my phone, I turned it off for a flight and when I landed, I turned it on and it started freezing when I tried using it. I was able to send out a few texts before it froze and I had to restart the phone but then it just wouldn't get past the Samsung Galaxy S5 screen.
Thank you for your help.
If I understand correctly your phone is not rooted ? Then only a factory reset will help you I think ...
In my experience, a factory reset will fix that, but wipe data also. On S3 and Note 3, I have Odin'ed stock firmwares over stock firmwares before and it has retained the data while fixing the problem. You may want to look into this method.

I've sort of looked into the Odin method but I'm still slightly confused and a little reluctant do so without clear instructions. Do you know of a particularly good tutorial that could help me with this? I do want to retain some of the data.
Thank you for your help, if this doesn't work, I'll probably just factory reset it.

Its quite simple. Donwload your region firmware from sammobile or from the firmware thread, open odin 3.07 (later versions have issues). Don't change any settings but do make sure "repartition" is NOT checked as this may cause brick. Click on "pda". Select the firmware you just downloaded. Now boot phone into download mode, I believe its vol down home and power pressed altogether. Dismiss the warning and connect your phone. Finally once it says "added" press start. Thats it, good luck!

This is correct.
I'm looking for help in fixing one of my Samsung s4 i337m.
My first question is are all the roms, kernels, modems, ect. the same for AT&T/Bell/Rogers. I'm trying to bring it back to factory.
I was trying to downgrade to unlock my phone but realized after that I grabbed my daughters phone that was stock. (after flashing)
Now after I tried unlocking it, the touch screen stoped working, the volume buttons, power button, menu, and back buttons all work. I am now stuck on the screen where you select languages. (Swipe not working on screen everything is visable)
I have cleared the catch and personal data from the (hold power and volume up).
I then tried flashing to 5.0.1 to see if that would work this is the only ROM that does not give me the unsupported kernal message. Her phone was on 4. Something but have tried them all and they give, the message after flashing wrong kernal.
Hopefully this is enough information for some to give advise. I did read somewhere here on a fix for unresponsive touchsrceen file but I think it was for i9550 or something.
I flashed many different stock ROMs couple of modem bins tring to fix but nothing is working for me.
They are NOT the same. Find a thread that specifies it is for I337m and use the firmware from there
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using XDA Free mobile app
Ok thanks, I was a bit confused, I was using only stock i337m Roms but the where for Rogers not Bell, because they had the same file names I thought the files would be the same.
After market was filled up with display copies that include glued touch buttons, samsung decided to update their firmware. And unfortunately for users with cracked screens that they have replaced with cheaper one, controller of touch buttons began work not correctly. Looks like same story as with popular FTDI 232 ttl converter chip. Original manufacturer has released driver update to render copies useless.
I have got used i9505 with already replaced screen with bugged touch buttons and display looks like IPS, not AMOLED. I have tried some ROMs and found that sometimes flashing with stock ROMs with Odin will fix buttons, but as far as you get internet connection, updates start downloading without any prompt and buttons become dead.
I flashed TWRP with Odin, then flashed in recovery Albe95_S6_Full_PORT_4-7b.zip have boot it and in dialer typed *#2663# , then update FTSP FW and SensorHub FW. There was no "Touch key FW update". Then i played with *#0# to run SensorHubTest. After reboot buttons still had no light and not worked. But after i have flashed I9505XXUGNG8_I9505OXAGNG8_I9505XXUGNG8_HOME.tar.md5 and all become working well. Then i flashed MOD (Optimized-LineageOS-18.1-V7.0.zip) and all working good and with internet. Can anybody explain wtf exactly is happening? At that point i don't wan't to make more experiments. But am pretty sure that if you wanna fix it you should remove sim and block any wifi connections to stay offline while you are trying to fix buttons (what ever?) by flashing GT-i9505 with stock FW.
